Superb location historic home- spacious, bright, and quiet, yet downtown!
Five generation family home now available for short-term rentals. Superb location-two to three blocks to the water, downtown restaurants and shopping, baseball stadium, parks, marina, playground, the Pinellas bike trail, and .6 miles from the Fenway. The house layout provides ample space for a group, with well-separated rooms to give a sense of privacy. Upstairs is the airy master bedroom with a super comfortable king bed and an ensuite bathroom that overlooks the trees. Also upstairs, a second large bedroom has a king and a double bed, and a hall bathroom. The downstairs queen bedroom opens into a small office and has a hall bath with a walk-in shower. There is an airy living room, separate dining room, a beautiful sunny kitchen with a breakfast nook, a front screened porch and an open, unshaded front porch for the winter days when the full sun feels delicious. Full of historic charm and original details, while freshly updated with modern conveniences. You can sit on the front porch and watch dog-walkers, bikers and strollers, or walk over to the weekend Farmers' Market a block away. Enjoy the wide variety of cafes, restaurants and craft breweries all within a few blocks- no need to drive! The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare a fancy family meal for eight, or a simple lunch for two to savor on the screened porch. Really nice place and much larger than anticipated. We pretty much just slept here but the kitchen was large and well equipped and all the beds were comfy. Host was very welcoming and we had no issues. We visit Dunedin often and would definitely stay here again!
Kitchen was fine-- except:Dishes didn't fit into dish washer very well.Couldn't find any dishcloths.

So very glad you all enjoyed your stay - it really is a perfect house for big families since there is plenty of room, and the location makes it so easy for just nipping downtown for shopping or restaurants. Welcome back anytime and thanks again for choosing to stay with us.
Best, W
We had a wonderful time in Dunedin and this home was the perfect place to kick off our fun. It was not even a block away from where we could pick up the free ride car and rent bikes to explore more. Loved reading about the family who own the home.

Great house, close to restaurants in downtown Dunedin
Thoughtful extras included like towels, chairs, umbrella, cooler for the beach. Would give 5 stars except the upstairs AC went out our last night. Will stay again.
Perfect spot. Could not have been more perfect. The house was wonderful and very spacious. We had 2 seniors with us and still it was a 5 minute walk to baseball, a 5 minute walk to the marina and 2 minutes to Main Street. Cant say enough positives!
Perfect location to enjoy all that Downtown Dunedin has to offer. We were in Dunedin to attend a wedding. We were able to walk to all the activities associated with the wedding. I would definitely stay here again. The house had plenty of room for all four of us with the three large bedrooms. It is a very interesting home as well with all the history displayed in it. The neighborhood is beautiful and very quiet for being one block away from downtown.
Great location, 2-3 blocks to all restaurants, shops, fair grounds, and water. Older home with upgrades. Clean, relaxing and comfortable describes this location. Sitting on the screened front porch at night was enjoyable and perfect after a busy day. An enormous amount of cooking, eating, food prep appliances and dishes/glasses available. Lots of personnel effects left behind from owners which was different but also inviting.

Hi Chuck I am glad you enjoyed the house and the historic angle of it. And thanks for the review!
It's a great rental! Loved the location and the screened porch and the kitchen and pretty much everything except the televisions. We were two 82 year olds with minimal tech savy regarding televisions and television service providers. We could not get the tv in the living room to turn on and reached out to the host who promptly responded but could do nothing to help.
We had better luck with the tv in the first floor bedroom, however, it appeared we needed to subscribe to some type of streaming service to get programs we really wanted to watch -- such as the Super
Bowl on CBS. We found ourselves frustrated -- likely due to our ineptitudes. It would have been nice to have been told about the tvs in advance and to have some printed guidance in the rental for each tv.
The place is just as described. It’s a very lovely coming very charming 1920s house in downtown Dunedin. All the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and clean. The location is perfect. We had a wonderful time. We definitely stay again

The name is in the title...charming!!
We had such a wonderful time renting this house. It was absolutely perfect and was fully stocked! We felt like we were at home. It’s super close to shops and dining; definitely walking distance. We will absolutely rent again. My husbands family is in Clearwater and it’s much easier for us to rent a home vs renting hotel rooms (and even cheaper most of the time). The hosts went out of their way to be in contact with us about check in, check out, and anything else we needed. I’d give more stars if I could.

Adorable!
Absolutely precious vintage home within walking distance of shops, great restaurants, the waterfront, docks, bike trail, weekend craft shows, etc.
With 3 baths, it was very comfortable for 3 couples. Perfect for families or a girls trip! Did I mention the short walk to great restaurants!?! The large kitchen is well equipped if you want to prepare meals. There's a dining room and living area with TV, but the majority of our time at the house was spent on the screened front porch.
If you appreciate the quirks of a well loved older house vs the shiny and new, I highly recommend Waverly's charming home.

Be a part of Dunedin history
This is the second year that we have rented this beautiful historic home - we call it the Mansion. I live in Dunedin and when my friends visit, we rent this home as an extension to my residence. Initially, it was simply convienient for the additional space close to my home and downtown to accommodate guests. But now it has become a focal point and everyone enjoys game night and dinner at the mansion! It is beautifully furnished yet very cozy! You feel like you have stepped back to a simpler time in the "Old Florida".

I grew up in Richmond, Virginia but have worked for the last 30 years in international public health in Africa, Asia and Latin America. I have always enjoyed staying at VRBO properties and am delighted to share our Old Florida home with you!
Why they chose this property
My great-grandfather built the house in 1922. My grandmother and mother both grew up there, and my mom was married in the church across the street in 1952. I used to love driving down from Virginia to visit and smelling the jasmine and orange blossoms when we arrived in quaint Dunedin. Our wonderful property manager lives nearby and is always available.
What makes this property unique
It's such a pretty neighborhood and just two blocks to Dunedin's Main Street, with the farmers' market, shops, restaurants, festivals, etc. Downtown Dunedin is such a cute little Old Florida small town tucked away far from the strip malls. This home has most everything you need. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and dry goods (spices, salt and pepper, plastic wrap, paper towels etc.) We have fresh new linens including beach towels, vases for the jasmine and hibiscus growing around the house, some lovely china and elegant but comfortable furnishings from family travels all over the world. There are beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler on the back porch.
The front screened in porch is our favorite place for lunch and drinks in the evenings, a great place to watch passers-by out walking their dogs or heading for the farmers' market. Such an easy stroll to restaurants or the water's edge for sunset. Enjoy our wonderful Old Florida home!
