About this property

Experience wine country magic with several wineries nearby and memorable tasting

Dalton Lakeside Cottage is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway with family, friends and good neighbors. Located on a quiet private road, you will pass through a narrow but short underpass that is not an issue for a full size pickup or SUV. The cottage features 3 bedrooms, 1 bath with a kitchen and living room. We prefer you to use the screened windows to keep cool, but there is an option for A/C if needed. We have a RokuTV that allows guests to sign into their streaming services. High speed internet is also available provided by Spectrum. You will be spending most of your days outside grilling on the covered Front deck while your kids playing in the secured back yard or enjoying your time relaxing on Dalton Landing watching the sunrise and sunset as you enjoy your morning coffee or your evening glass of wine. Relax by the outdoor fire-pit at night. There is a charming and historic train that runs by the house. The train has no set schedule but does go slow and the conductor will even blow the whistle for you if you wave to them. There is also a long dock for your convenience, whether you choose to fish from the dock, rent a boat at Roy's Marina or bring your own boat. The cottage is a short drive from a local farmers market called "The Windmill" and about 30 min drive from the waterloo shopping outlets. This is a wonderful cottage that is perfect for that quiet weekend we all need with family and friends. If this sounds like the place for you, please submit your booking request to lock in your dates. Ask about boat docking and trailer storage. We do not supply a washer & dryer but list of laundromats will be available at the cottage. There are also 2 security cameras located on each corner of the front of the house, these are used for security purposes only, there are no other cameras in any guest areas of the cottage. **Update due to recent storms the dock has been damaged and is currently unavailable **

Beautiful location. Large deck overlooks lake along with smaller deck and stairs to dock. Dock was damaged but being repaired along with most docks in that areaDriveway is long and narrow and be aware there. Is an underpass that is low. Truck and large SUV make it fine but if you have a car top carrier you may not fit

We were fortunate to rent Dalton Lakeside. The cottage is very clean and towels and bedding is provided. We brought our young dog and two toddlers and the fence was perfect for them. We all enjoyed swimming off of the dock and collection shells and fossils on the shores. The cottage truly fit our needs, grilling on the deck and cooking in the kitchen for our meals was great and watching the sunrise every morning. We stayed over the 4th of July and we're able to watch several firework shows from the back deck. The location is private while still being central enough to many of the popular attractions in the area we were able to explore each day and didn't feel like we were in the car for too long. Additionally the owners provided information on several local attractions. I definitely recommend for a family with small children. On our first night a bald eagle flew by while we were down on the dock and we were able to watch an Osprey catch a fish while we were on the dock as well, there were many ducks staying near by and many eagle and herons flying over everyday.

The cottage fulfilled our needs. It was lakefront, and we enjoyed the views and accommodations. Our dog loved the fenced in yard. It was quiet and peaceful. The host was very communicative and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. Things to keep in mind: The road is not paved. It rained during our stay, and the underpass got very muddy. I didn't have an issue with it in my AWD, but for someone who might not have this, it could cause your vehicle to get stuck. Also, the shower is only a shower, which was listed in the detail. However, it is extremely small. There is no room to move around at all.

Dalton Cottage is a peaceful location right on Seneca Lake. It had a fulled fenced in yard so our dogs could play (completely secure even for little dogs) and even had a doggy door they loved to use! Our dogs loved it. The deck was amazing to have coffee on every morning and the water was so clear!

Great September Getaway

What a wonderful weekend getaway. Property just as described, everything you need for a getaway included, fantastic view and communication and description provided by owner spot on. Quiet and peaceful area location, close to wineries, breweries and restaurants. Highly recommended!
