The property was very much as promised. It was perfect for our stay and priced appropriately. No major issues, but no smoke detectors were observed. Smoke detectors help guests feel more safe.

From the owner: "Hi Gerald, We do have a smoke detector in the hallway outside the bedroom doors. I will ask our cleaning staff to make sure it has not been taken down. Thanks for the suggestion for additional ones."

Cozy and Private, just like home.
Nice place, lots of room for things to do, lots of space, down a quiet road but also close to Ellicottville.10/10 would recommend.
Our family loved the property and the host was amazing to work with! Highly recommend to any family looking to recharge. Ski hills were just 11 minutes away, not bad at all.
Having access to the garage to load/unload was a huge bonus. We'll be back!
This was our second stay at this property. We absolutely love the spot! It quite, peaceful and just a few minutes from everything we wanted to do in EVL. We hiked the nature trials everyday and kept warm inside with the cozy fireplace. The owners reached out in advance to make sure we had everything we needed. We will certainly return.

Overall my experience at Alden Acres was wonderful - I stayed here with 8 of my closest friends and family members for fall festival weekend. It is about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Ellicottville. The house is located on several acres of land (30 I believe) and has a pond about 100 yards away. The grounds were gorgeous, as we stayed here during peak fall foliage. Nancy was incredibly responsive to any requests and was able to effectively resolve any issues we came across. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking for a weekend get-away with friends! Thanks again!
What a fantastic home! We visited for a long weekend with plans to ski each day, and the location was perfect, about a 12-minute drive to Holiday Valley. The house itself exceeded expectations; the photos truly don’t do it justice. It was spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The furniture stood out as high-quality, comfortable pieces, not the undersized or flimsy furniture you often find in rental homes. The beds were very comfortable, with extra blankets available if needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, including plenty of board games and children’s books, which made bedtime much easier for our three-year-old. The views from the kitchen window were stunning, and the basement/garage area offered a great hangout space that would be ideal for summer or fall stays. Although we didn’t use the wood-burning stove, it was available, and the hosts even provided firewood. One of the most appreciated features was the abundance of hooks and boot trays. Having a place to hang jackets, vests, and snowpants greatly enhanced our stay. We can’t say enough good things about this home. The only minor note is that the driveway and stairs were not plowed or shoveled, though garage access was available. It’s something to consider if traveling with elderly guests. The hosts were clear that snow removal isn’t done unless accumulation exceeds 2inches. Overall a great stay!

Mud
The house itself could have used a good cleaning. The ad was misleading as the pond is not visible from the house and quite a distance away. We were walking in four to six inches of mud everywhere on the property as there is no pavement or gravel. We had brought our dog so he basically had to have a bath every time he came in. Our son and his family moved up to that area and we were hoping this would be a regular rental for us when we visit but we will never go back!!.

Debbie, we're sorry to hear your stay wasn't what you expected. The house is located in the country on 30 acres of beautiful land and, like most houses in the area, has no pavement. Due to an extremely wet spring, mud was present. We understand the homeowner made you aware of this prior to your arrival, but we apologize we weren't able to better prepare you. While there are two ponds nearby the property, the pond that belongs to this property is in the meadow behind the house, but the neighbor's pond is also visible from the front yard. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in your future travels. Best, the Evolve Team
We enjoyed seating for all, games, tv, fully equipped (although small) kitchen. The property does have 30 acres, but it is on a residential street, with other homes nearby. Lots of rules posted!
The house seemed exactly how it was listed. It was very cute it had everything you needed. I would definitely stay there again and I would love to stay there in the summertime with the pond.
The house is cozy and secluded, which is a great place for a get away from the frenzy of everyday life. It is a great place for outdoors folks, and seemed to be a great winter destination . For the summer, however, it is secluded and in an area with nothing much to do.
We had a lovely week at Alden's Acres. The house is perfectly sized for a family and has great amenities - new dishwasher, all the pots and pans you could need, etc. The master bedroom has a half bath; there is another bedroom and a kids' bedroom with two bunk beds. There are many games, tapes, and DVDs on the property. The pond is a short walk from the house and has fish and lizards, although it is a little too small for a boat. The walk to the pond has a great view of the mountains; the house itself doesn't have much of a view, but it is quiet. Nice location a few minutes from Salamanca and Ellicottville and the Allegany State Park. There is no air conditioning although we did not have trouble in early August.
The only negative reaction I had about the experience was the list of pre-check in requirements, which are long, specific, and prescriptive. In addition to the pet fee, your pet cannot go in the bedrooms or on any of the furniture. I understand that this is probably the result of bad experience with past guests, but overall it did not feel "pet friendly" and we worried the entire time. If you are traveling with your pet, know before you book.

Stay in the woods
This property is a quaint, cozy little home. The pictures online are deceiving. The home is much smaller then anticipated. The home is well kept, except for chipping paint on a wall in the master bedroom and a horrible musty smell throughout the whole house. We had to keep every window open when we were able to. The property is beautiful. You can tell the owners are in the process of renovating to improve this home. Not sure I would stay again, just because of that smell, but my family enjoyed ourselves and we had a fun weekend in the woods! We visited Allegheny State Park, which was only a short 15 min drive. We also visited Ellicottville which is just about 20 mins away. The location of this home was just what we were looking for. The house is well stocked with everything you would need.

Ski Weekend!
Great house! Close to the slopes! House was exactly what we needed to relax in after a busy day on the slopes. Had all the amenities you would need and all the beds were very comfortable, which is very important if you ski for 3 days in a row!!! Would definitely rent again for another ski weekend!
