About this property

Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat with Wood-fired hot tub

Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat - Our new luxury eco-accommodation for couples - set on our rural, forested property just 10mins from Geraldine.

Gaze at the mountains from the king bed through open bi-fold windows, take a long soak in the handcrafted (Lignum) woodfired hot tub, gaze at the splendour of a sky full of stars, listen to bird song, BBQ your dinner on the deck while you watch the sun go down behind Fiery Peak, linger while the sky changes colour and ducks fly home for the night, recharge your soul, take a plunge in our spring fed natural pool. "One night is never enough"

The wood-fired hot tub can be booked as an extra ($60 first night, $20 - 2nd & 3rd night). Cleaned between guests, filled with our fresh unchlorinated, UV filtered spring water and then heated to 40 degrees for your arrival.

Let me know if you would like to book the tub and you can just bring cash with you for payment.

Built in 2022, the Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat 66 sqm cabin has been designed with the environment in mind. Powered by the sun, supplied with our own pristine spring water (UV filtered, unchlorinated), set amongst 12 acres of trees: this beautiful open-plan cabin looks out across farmland to the mountains. Your time at the cabin will allow you to disconnect from the stresses of life, and reconnect with the beauty of a natural environment

If you have time, there's a lot to do in and around Geraldine using Fiery Peak as a base for a 2 or 3 night stay:
Take a day trip to Peel Forest (Horse treks, bush walks), Lake Tekapo (ice-skating, snow tubing, hot pools), Mt Cook (Hooker Valley, Sealy Tarn walks), Mt Sunday (Lord of the Rings film site), day trips to Timaru/ Caroline Bay. Ski fields - Mt Dobson, Roundhill, Mt Hutt.
OR simply relax in the cabin or gardens with a book with no one to bother you, popping into Geraldine to check out Barker's new cafe and food store or other restaurants/ Geraldine cheese factory-shop.

BBQ: We have a Weber BBQ for guests to use. It is just gorgeous sitting outside enjoying the evening, cooking, dining and wining with the back-drop of the mountains. We just ask if you use the BBQ that you take a few minutes afterward to clean it with BBQ wipes provided.

LATE CHECK-OUT: Because I hate to rush when I am away on holiday, at Fiery Peak Cottage you can stay till mid-day if your schedule allows. So wake up, relax, enjoy the morning coffee and cooked breakfast before heading away. Check out anytime up to noon.

If you need anything to eat.. there are some lovely restaurants & cafes to choose from in Geraldine, just 8 mins drive away. Alternatively and possibly better, grab a cooked chicken, selection of salads and bottle of wine from the local supermarket and make the most of your time to relax at the cottage. Takeaways also available from Royal India, Q Foods, or Jack’s Chinese Takeaway/Fish and Chips.

Guests say that the night sky at Fiery Peak is as good as Tekapo. With the telescope provided, you can check out the evening sky from the deck of the cabin.

We welcome direct bookings through StayGeraldine.

While we are not able to have children stay due to natural hazards on our property, you are welcome to bring a non-mobile infant. There is a portacot available in the cabin. Please let me know if you wish to bring an infant.

Guests have access to our 12 acre property to explore the forest natural pool and waterways.

Please note reviews prior to May 2022 - are for our old Fiery Peak cottage. We have now replaced the cottage with our newly build cabin - Fiery Peak Eco-Retreat.

Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.
