Best Location in Town! Walk to everything! Cozy Historic Cabin in Grand Lake
Welcome to our lovely renovated historic cabin right in the heart of the Town of Grand Lake. Warm, inviting and charming, you will enjoy all that Grand Lake has to offer. It has all the comforts of home, but is steps from the grandeur that is Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. Dogs will love it here too with a nice fenced in yard.
Our cabin is one block off the main street boardwalk, many great shops, restaurants, bars and other treats just a step away. This cabin is also located directly across the street from the main playground, basketball court, Town Hall, Town Park and the Juniper Library. Walk to everything! In winter, the basketball court is converted to an ice rink — so fun, bring your skates! We have recently added a much bigger front porch for relaxing or watching the kids play in the park. This cabin is for families and people who like to be a part of it all: hang out at the local coffee shops, bakeries, walk to the beach, see the parades, town events, art fair, theater, music festivals, participate in bingo, just meet new people, etc. Of course you will have to take in all the lakes have to offer, such as sit on the beach and play in the sand, rent a boat (or bring your boat!) or go fishing. We offer three kayaks in the summer to make the fun even greater (must sign waiver). And take in the sheer beauty of the area with so many hiking trails, lakes and rivers to explore, and only 5 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Enjoy Bingo Fridays and Saturdays every week throughout the summer, snowmobiling, ice skating and ice fishing in the winter, book talks for the kids at the library, a show at the Repertory Theater, etc. There is also a private patio to enjoy in the summer. This area is host to varied wildlife, which you have a very good chance of seeing even in our backyard, such as moose, bear, elk, fox, hummingbirds and butterflies. The wonderful ski resort of Winter Park/Mary Jane is only a 45 minute drive away.
The cabin has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. We have recently added a private ensuite above the garage, adding more space and capacity, which includes a beautiful new bathroom. The first floor has been renovated with rustic hardwood floors and a cozy gas fireplace/stove. The first floor has 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and updated bathroom, living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen and a mudroom with full laundry facilities. The second floor is sort of a divided but shared area (no doors) with sloped ceilings, with a queen size bed on one side, and three single beds on the other side (perfect for the kids), as well as a small bathroom with an antique claw foot tub, so nice for soaking. We also have a pack 'n play/crib for the baby. As mentioned above, then we have a new large ensuite with queen bed and attached bathroom above the garage, also with a cute alcove with a double bed. Dogs are allowed, please no cats. We would appreciate you cleaning up after your dog as well. Thanks! For safety and security, we have one video camera by the front door and one showing the driveway.
As stated on the Town of Grand Lake’s website: “Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. A year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years, Grand Lake welcomes you.”

Second year for our Grand Lake reunion group to stay here. Conveniently located and great for our group to gather together for meals, reminiscing and creating new memories.
We appreciated the layout of the rooms, the kitchen, the electric fireplace and wonderful yard and front porch. It's a block from Main St which is a great plus. Overall, it was a great stay!
Location was perfect as we could walk to everything, the kitchen was well equipped, and our group of 6 had everything we needed, including the use of the kayaks!
The property is well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable winter stay. There is plenty of room and the home was clean. There is no better location for a fun Grand Lake stay.
Very unassuming from the outside but it was exactly what we needed for 8 people to stay there. Clean, cozy, and welcoming. Very enjoyable time while we were there.
We had a very pleasant stay at this cozy cabin. The location couldn't have been any better, it was clean, and the owner's timely responses were much appreciated. The yard and patio area were also very nice. The only drawback to our stay were the slanted ceilings in all but one of the bathrooms. We are a tall family ranging between 5'9" and 6'3". We couldn't stand up straight to use the sinks and found we often hit our heads while trying to move around the bathrooms.
Super cozy cabin. Fit our family of 5 wonderfully. Can't get a better location in town. The playground was literally across the street which thw kids loved! Definitely recommend.

Comfortable & Convenient!
This is the perfect little cabin if you want convenience and comfort. Super short walk to the lake and to town. Comfortable beds, cozy living room with a fire place that heats the entire cabin wonderfully, great kitchen. Loved the fire pit!
This cabin is our favorite for stats with our extended family. Lots of privacy for everyone. East Access to the village shops, restaurants and, importantly, the lake.
Every year our family visits Grand Lake. It is increasingly difficult to find enough places in town to house all 50 family members. My immediate family of 6 chose this little cabin named “Best location in town”. It did not disappoint. We were right there for playing in the park, live music and bingo. We were just a short walk away from the beach. The kayaks were a bonus. However one of them will give you quite an ab workout and a dip in the cold water if you aren’t careful. We plan to stay there again in the future.
Terrific cabin in the heart of Grand Lake with everything you could need for a great vacation! While it was much bigger than we needed for just two adults and our dog, it always felt comfortable and cozy. The fenced yard was a great bonus for our pup's outdoor time, and the big front porch provided beautiful views. It was also nice to be able to park in the back driveway off the street. This cabin has everything you need for a great stay in Grand Lake!

About the host
Hosted by Barbara Siefkes
Native Coloradans, we love the mountains and all they have to offer. We have been coming to this area of Colorado for years and it is still one of our favorites. We go boating and hiking and snowmobiling all the time, and love the natural beauty that so many can take for granted.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because it is right in the center of town, rustic small town charm but you can walk to everything and never even have to get in the car if you don’t want to.
What makes this property unique
The instant I walked into this house I felt at home. It is at once warm and cozy and welcoming to everyone.
