The Roche Winery Vineyard Retreat is nestled among their 20-acre vineyard estate in the Carneros Appelation, just 5 miles from downtown Sonoma - a mere 10 minute drive. This 3-bedroom, 2 ½ bath, large ranch home boasts a view from every room. Whether it’s the Chardonnay or Pinot Noir vineyards, the lush vegetable garden and fruit trees, the landscaped grounds or the always inviting pool and hot tub, you’ll enjoy relaxing at this private escape.
Located near a major thoroughfare, the home is just minutes from historic Sonoma Plaza and more than 50 Sonoma, Carneros, and Napa wineries. You will also find dozens of restaurants, historic sites, hiking trails, bike paths, spas, galleries, shops and event facilities a short drive away. Plan to spend your day enjoying the fruits of the Sonoma Valley knowing you’ll return to a quiet and very private country retreat. You can start by relaxing near one of the two indoor fireplaces or maybe enjoy some stargazing at the outside fire pit; or take a dip in the large hot tub or solar-heated pool while watching a game on the outdoor television; maybe cook up a gourmet meal in the spacious kitchen or fire up the grill for a simple barbeque; then eat al fresco next to the pool or enjoy your meal in the enclosed outdoor dining area. Live it up ‘wine country style’ at our home.
Settling In
The ranch home features an open floor plan combining the family room, casual dining area and well-equipped kitchen, in the main entry you will find a large formal dining and living room and down the hallway are two queen bedrooms and a master king suite.
The casual family room shares an open floor plan with the kitchen and a small dining area. A plush couch and love seat provide ample seating to watch the 55 inch television so you won’t miss a show or game. Or maybe the day or evening turned chilly which means it’s time to light up a fire and snuggle into the couch for some tv time. Perhaps you’d rather play some tunes on the sound system while you prepare the evening’s meal in the roomy kitchen just steps from the vegetable garden. The well equipped kitchen, with granite counter tops and large central island, provides plenty of space for family and friends to cook together or for a hired private chef to prepare your gourmet meal.
Maybe you’re more interested in a formal space to relax and dine? Then use the stately combined living room and formal dining area featuring a grand piano and wall-to-wall hardwood flooring. Light a fire in the living room to enjoy your pre-dinner wine or cocktails while lounging in the comfortable couches. Turn on the inset television to find a music channel to set the mood or maybe someone will play the piano for a little entertainment. Conclude the evening with a gourmet meal at the large dining table with enough seating for 10 people.
All of the bedrooms look onto the sizable back yard, grand redwood trees and vineyards. Two of the bedrooms house queen beds with soft linens and ample closets to store your traveling gear; they share a tiled bath. The master suite, with king bed and a private full bath, opens to the pool patio and front landscaped yard. The home comfortably sleeps 6 people, with a stow-away twin bed and hide-away twin bed in the family room ottoman for two extra sleeping spots.

Location was excellent. Short ride to local vineyards and downtown Sonoma. Property was dated but charming and definitely worth the price when compared to others in the area. Our group loved all the citrus and olive trees. Would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful pre-Thanksgiving holiday. We enjoyed all of the living space both inside and outside. We enjoyed the hot tub. The house was very clean, well provisioned, had everything needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. The host was fabulous, very responsive and communicative. We highly recommend this property and host.
This was a wonderful property for our trip! The pictures just don’t convey how peaceful and lovely this home is, in the middle of the vineyards. I would love to stay again!
The property was located within a vineyard which was a very cool experience since we were in Sonoma wine country. The property was very unique with old charm and rustic furnishings. The kids loved the pool and I loved the backyard lawn to play games on. The house was equipped with everything we needed from kitchen equipment to extra bedding. Overall great stay
Beautiful spacious home with gourmet kitchen that made it fun to prepare breakfast before heading out for wine tastings! More than enough room for the 8 of us staying!! Thank you for an amazing stay!
This house is truly a gem in Sonoma!!! Beautiful grounds and the pool/hot tub were amazing! So much space in the house and the kitchen was fabulous!!! Will definitely stay here again!
This home was perfect for our group of two parents, two daughters and one of their boyfriends. We arrived a bit late but still received our complimentary wine tasting at the vineyard just 100 yards away. The rooms were spacious, kitchen was great, and all the sitting areas cozy and we used them all. Outside is a pool, hot tub, fireplace and bbq grill. Again, all were used. After a toasty day tasting wine from Healdsburg to Calistoga, down to Napa and Sonoma and everything inbetween, the pool was so refreshing. The added ambiance was it was in the middle of the family vineyard and we awoke to grape trees in 270 degrees. It is very safe and we would recommend this VRBO to anyone with adult kids or just a coouple of couples on a wine tasting trip.
This home is in a great setting with great views. The home, as lovely as it is, is in need of some TLC and reinvestment. No doubt managing an older home in the middle of a vineyard comes with some challenges - on and off rain drove a variety of bugs inside (that happens) - a few critters have found a their way into the attic and others are trying to join them - a fix to the leaky dishwasher and repairs to the missing steps on the deck - just a refresh is all that is needed.
For a Girls Weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed this rental house! The house was hard to find, but conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown Sonoma. We loved the pool, and actually jumped in the swimming pool (icy cold plunge) followed with a hot tub. The kitchen was well appointed, and we even used the swiss chard and fresh herbs in the garden to make a few breakfasts/snacks! In the main living room, we enjoyed the grand piano and played cards after a long day of wine tasting! It was absolutely roomy enough for our group of 8, and we loved the secluded location on the Roche winery property!
We use VRBO frequently, and I have to say that this was my favorite stay. This home is located in an actual vineyard, just a beautiful setting. The house is in the middle of a gorgeously maintained garden, the irises and roses were blooming, and there are so many outside spaces to enjoy. We enjoyed the outside fire table and seating very much.I have never stayed in a home as well stocked. The kitchen had absolutely everything needed, then some. There was even laundry detergent! The house was just gorgeous with an amazing, modern kitchen. We enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting at Roche Winery, the setting was the nicest of the wineries we visited while in Sonoma and the people so friendly and welcoming. Can't say enough positive things about this home.

Beautiful outdoor space, spacious inside, and private
8 of us girls had a unforgettable time, spent at the Roche property. The home is very spacious and accommodating. However, the outdoor space and vineyard is what I loved most. Aside from wine tasting in Sonoma and Napa, we enjoyed the pool and hot tub during our stay. We also hired a yoga instructor to come teach us a class outside, which was awesome. I would definitely recommend staying at Roche family’s home.
We had the most amazing stay at the Roche family home celebrating mom/grandma’s 70th birthday. Carrie was quick to respond to any questions we had, and was extremely accommodating throughout our stay. The home was perfect for a family celebration. The open floor plan included a baby grand piano, which grandma enjoyed playing morning and evening. The garden/pool area was perfect for us to gather for morning coffee, brunch, and a lobster boil on our last evening at the home. Our family members flew from North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and Florida for the birthday celebration, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Icing on the cake was the complimentary wine tasting at the Vinyard, which was so impressive that grandma joined the wine club! Thank you Carrie, and Roche Winery for a truly memorable weekend.
We had an absolutely fabulous weekend at this amazing home located right in the heart of Sonoma! This was an annual girls trip for 7 of us who have been best friends since elementary school. We were looking for a mix of wine tasting and pool time relaxation and this home did not disappoint. We ended up booking a limo and wine tasting all day Friday and the location was perfectly positioned to spend time in both Napa (a little further away) and Sonoma. When we got back from tasting we were able to relax and unwind in the hot tub and chill by the fire pit. The kitchen has everything you could ever need to prepare a nice meal (pots, pans, foil, two ovens, very nice stove, all of the utensils, spices), and there are multiple dining tables to eat at inside. The next day we had 1 tasting for some early morning bubbles at Gloria Ferrer (only a 6 minute drive) and got to then take advantage of the Roche winery where the property is located. We spent the remainder of the day at the pool and grilled on the gas grill. The Roche winery was so accommodating and we got a free tasting there (as included per the booking) and also bought some bottles of rose to enjoy at the house when we got back. Carrie, the property manager, was extremely responsive to any questions we had leading up to the trip. We had one minor issue with the shower but she had someone come out immediately and it was fixed in no time. Would absolutely recommend this home and definitely plan to come back again!
We are a small production family-owned and operated winery in Sonoma. Founders, Joseph and Genevieve, settled in Sonoma over 40 years ago and have been in the wine industry for 35 years. Today the second generation is operating the winery and property.
