Perfect place for a weekend stay.The cabin is very nice. Clean and comfortable. We liked how close it was to Main Street. Enjoyed watching the deer out front at the feeder in the mornings and evenings. Host referred us to a perfect dinner spot. Would stay again.

This stay was our second time enjoying the Red Velvet Haus. It was a lovely visit. This time, we watched a group of eight deer feeding outside of the cabin window both evenings. The location is very peaceful, yet a short drive to wineries, restaurants and shopping. Thanks again for the delightful accommodations.

I usually don’t stay in properties like this but I am sure glad I did. Nice location, nice and quiet, away from all the downtown traffic and noise. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we ever needed. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Such an amazing stay! The most cozy little spot and complete comfort you could ever ask for! They had a bakery right up from where we stayed that had some of the most amazing desserts to enjoy as well! My wife and I were very pleased and would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

We had a wonderful, relaxing time here. Loved the front porch and rockers, where we sat and watched deer and birds (a summer tanager!) while having happy hour. Everything was to our liking and we would come back again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

This was a great day getaway for us. Very glad that we were allowed to just book one night. The Cabin was big enough for the two of us. The location was only a short trip to Fredericksburg, so it was nice and quiet. There was plenty of parking out front. The house is part of a two-unit house. We didn’t hear the other people on the other side of the house. The bed was huge with a 3-4” memory foam topper on the mattress. It was fairly soft, however there was a slight indentation in the “normal” sleeping locations. There was also a very friendly cat roaming around outside that wanted to come home with us (I’m guessing it was the owner’s cat).

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this location - it was clean! The owners definitely did a great job creating a cabin that we would enjoy visiting again.

Great Stay!

The Red Velvet Suite was the perfect size and accommodations for us as a couple! Very comfortable with everything we needed… and delicious fresh cookies on arrival 😍 Thank you for a much needed retreat!!

I really enjoyed staying here. The location is very close to the downtown area. It was clean, spacious, and welcoming. This is located close to a main road. I bring a small speaker to play white noise on while traveling. So if you like total quiet, you will want to bring yours with you. I would stay here again.

Great place!

Love the Bakery Haus! Second time to stay here and Sophie is so hospitable. Check in is super easy too! Love the Guesthaus Schmidt and all the perks with booking through them! We hope to be back next year!
