About this property

This lovely home is centrally located on a quiet street in Ogunquit. Short walk to town, beach, and Perkins cove. The Marginal Way begins just at the end of the street. Built in 1946, it is a quaint New England style home with beautiful wood paneling and plenty of room for the whole family. Sleeps 10-13, and includes an extra sitting room upstairs between the two bedrooms, and a beautiful 4 season porch downstairs adjacent to the living room and kitchen. Also an outdoor shower for rinsing after sandy beach days. Washer and dryer are also available for your convenience.

Ogunquit visit

Felt like I was staying in an old farmhouse. Lots of old books and antique furniture. Plenty of room! Great location for the beach, walking paths, and restaurants.

Lovely place to be! Wish we were still there!

This was a great place to stay. The home has history, character and an awesome 3 season porch for hanging out! The location is perfect for whatever you feel like doing. The beach; marginal way; shops; food and ice cream all w/in walking distance. Yet the neighborhood itself feels like a little oasis. We had a mix of friends and family join us over the week and all were pleased w/ their stay. The owner and her family are all very kind and most helpful. It felt more like staying at a friend's house than a strangers. Just delightful.

Not Clean

A camp-like old house in a wonderful location, but NOT clean. We had to pay a cleaning fee. The renters before us must have also… The rugs and couches are dirty. Cobwebs on lamps. Major dust behind and under beds. Dirty toilet. Very dirty beach chairs. Filthy fans. Dirty sponge in kitchen. What is the cleaning fee for?

As one of several family members who now own this property, but the one living closest in proximity, I have been given the task of maintaining the property. Having spent most of my childhood summers there and even a winter or two, it is truly a sacred place for me. It's the kind of place that always feels like home. Many of us visit as often as possible, but busy lives and distance make it impossible for us to be there all the time, so when possible, we share this beautiful place by renting it to people we hope will love it as we do.

Why they chose this property

This Home was built in 1946 by my Great-Grandparents. At the time, Ogunquit was not the tourist hot spot that it is now, but traveling there with some colleagues from Tufts University in Boston, my Great Grandparents fell in love with Ogunquit and decided to build a home there on what was then a dirt road with just a few homes. You feel the love and history in the home the moment you walk in. Everyone I have ever brought there is delighted by the immediate comfort they feel in the environment.
