This beautiful townhouse condominium features limestone floors and bathroom tile as well as granite countertops in the kitchen and all bathrooms. The condo has a Large screen 52-inch HD TV's with blu-ray DVD players and surround sound can be found in the living room and master bedroom along with a 42-inch HD television in the second bedroom. This unit has air-conditioning throughout the condo.

Your condominium will be supplied with beach towels. It will not however be stocked with beach equipment. Too often items break or go missing and it is not feasible to track and replace the items. Sullivan Properties, Inc firmly believes in recycling & lowering the carbon footprint we leave on this planet! If items are purchased or acquired by guests and are still in good condition, we are happy to leave them in the unit for others to enjoy. If they are extremely dirty or broken, we must toss them out. There are places nearby that rent beach amenities – your property might also have an onsite rental shack. Most of the rental places nearby offer daily or weekly rates. Please note, we are not endorsing these companies simply providing the more popular options in the area : Snorkel Bobs in the Kahana Gateway Center, Boss Frogs in the Napili Plaza and Boss Frogs in Kahana Manor. We really loved our views from this condo. We also liked the private beach and the pool. The only downside was that we thought there was a hot tub from the pictures but it was just a kiddie pool.

Maintenance had to come out twice and they were quick to respond. It appeared to be an ongoing issue and there was a smell of mildew once the air conditioner was on.

Fabulous find!

The location of the condo was perfect we had beach access right out our back patio. The view and snorkeling were great! The unit was very clean and we cooked in there quite a bit. There are two things that would be great to add. Our unit seemed to be the only unit without downstairs curtains for the sliding door. At night this was a bit alarming as people heading to be beach or on the common area could see right in. It was really unsettling seeing as my niece was the one on the hide-a-bed. Second, more towels, wash rags, and hand towels. We only had two hand towels and three bathrooms. And there were 5 of us and only 5 full sized bath towels…not ideal with girls. So we were using beach towels and we had to do laundry more than we wanted for fresh towels.But we will definitely be back again because the condo was PERFECT! Thank you so much!

Good Deal for Oceanfront Maui

We truly enjoyed our first experience on Maui. We had never been before, so I wasn’t sure how to pick a location or condo. I looked for something oceanfront, no high-rise and a beach. The pics online looked like it met my criteria and the price was right. The condo was oceanfront and it was a low building. Great!! However, this condo is not luxurious. It’s basic. Not everything we had hoped for. Many of the lights did not work. An a/c unit had to be fixed upon arrival, furnishings are dated. We were very pleased with how responsive the maintenance people were in fixing our a/c.

Kahana Sunset A5

The unit itself was a bit dated and felt a little dusty. Chipping paint. Needs an update. But very comfortable otherwise. Bedding was crisp and clean. The lanai off the main area is absolutely beautiful. We could walk directly out to view the ocean. We saw so many turtles. Amazing. A/C leaked in primary bedroom but manager was fairly quick to respond to fix. Otherwise kept the place cool! Property is well maintained. Very clean. Great beach. Great views. Great grill area. Nice pool. No hot tub. Nice chairs. There is a sink hole near a big grill area. Once that is fixed it’ll be very nice. We’ve stayed on property before and will stay again. We left with great memories!

Private Beach with Sea Turtles

This was a perfect stay! We did not want to stay in the "towers" at Kaanapali and prefer a more casual, laid-back vibe. This did not disappoint. The grounds are very nicely maintained. The heated pool with smooth tiles was fabulous. The oceanfront unit was amazing with a view of Molaki. Just a few steps out (like 10) and you are overlooking the private beach, pretty bay, and can look down at turtles! We saw about 5 or so, with one big one you could watch for hours! This property is in the middle of a residential area; there are zero hotels/condos on either side. It really is a private beach. Though there is required public access, very few use it that we saw. This is a perfect floating, snorkeling, swimming beach. No big waves, just soft, warm, perfect water. (With the occasional turtle that swims by within feet!) We loved the shopping center a 7 minute walk away. The best coffee spot (with local art), little local market with everything you need (fruit and seafood too), a few good restaurants, a rental place for snorkel gear. The actual center is not pretty, nor does it have lush plants/flowers, but the actual shops were perfect! It is a bit of a difficult 15 minute walk to the nicer Napili beach restaurants because you walk on the narrow road, but doable! (You cannot walk along the waterfront to get there). The actual unit was fabulous. The views from both lanais were amazing! Sure, it is a bit dated, but everything else made it great. Aloha!

Kitchen has been stripped of everything else. Not even a grain of salt. Unusual. Stacked washer/dryer in kitchen work well. Kitchen needs kitchen faucet replaced. Furniture is nice. We did not use TVs. Small lania has a table and 4 chairs. Lania has a electric awning which is nice in afternoon sun. The grounds are well maintained. Nice pool and sunning area. Ealk down steps to the beach. This in a nice small condo and beautiful area. Condo needs updating but very usable.

Kahana sunset A4 and A5

Reviewer Comments: It is the 2 time we went to kahana sunset, we rented unit A4 and A5 for 9 nights.Unit A4 is a lovely and well taken care place whis a new kitchen and all the amenities you need and more , Bedrooms and bathroom are nice and clean. I absolutely recommend that place. A5 was not the same ,the kitchen is old and stock sadly, the pits and pan's are old and not usable, Handel's faling of ,no proper lits old used and dirty amenities. The place needs work,A/C is noisy ,screen door falling out of frame. And the list goes on. If taken plenty of pics and videos as prove. I complained to Sullivan and they refunded 1 day of stay. I payed over $13.000 for 9 nights for the 2 apartments $6500 each ,bud the different between the apartments are day and night. I would book A4 again In A heartbeat but not A5

Beautiful view from a filthy unit

You can tell that this unit has been neglected for a long time. A simple sweeping the floors and wiping counters will not cut it. The paint is dingy, dinged up and has dirt smears on the woodwork. There was an "X" on the wall drawn on by someone's fingers that you could see in the light over one of the chairs. My daughter climbed the steps using her hands and they were black after. The rugs were disgusting, mold growing up the insides of the curtains in both the master and lanai doors, thick dust on all the baseboards (especially behind the beds, which I noticed when removing linens), small holes in the walls on steps and behind second bedroom toilet, mold spots on the ceiling of the master, and the ac units look like they haven't been cleaned in years. I took pictures of everything and am planning on emailing them to the property manager in the hopes that they will take action for future renters and see exactly what needs attention. The musty odor clung to all of our clothes and I had to wash everything including our luggage after. The location of Kahana Sunset is perfect. It's right on a nice private beach with well manicured landscaping and a pool. The grills look brand new, and I saw someone attending to outside the unit every day. The inside of the unit was a different story. We called the first day to unclog the second bedroom shower and take care of the ant problem in the kitchen. They were very prompt and responsive and apologetic when we reported the cockroach we found. Ants were also in the bedrooms.

BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!!!!

My daughter,19 & I went to Maui for our good friends destination wedding….in PARADISE! I will say I booked A5 many months ahead to lock in condo to be near my friends who had booked same building. (A) So it got closer to our vaca I checked the recent reviews & I was a little concerned based on some of those very recent comments regarding overall cleanliness of unit A5. I called about a week or so before arriving & talked to a very lovely lady (forgot her name) from Sullivan properties who assured me that she would personally look into my concerns & make sure the unit was deep cleaned before I was to arrive.(Daughter has allergies) She eased my mind it would be cleaned & if it wasn’t “up to par” I could call her when I arrived with ANY issues. I appreciated her kindness & I felt better after speaking to her. I’ll say when I first got there I kept looking for issues but not only was it well cleaned as promised, this unit smelled fresh & even passed my little cleanliness test I do when I arrive ANY place I stay.(Hotels,VBROs etc) I was pleased. I had NO issues during my stay….if I was to have any negative comments or suggestions about this unit it would be the outdated & bulky furniture & decor. But honestly everything was comfortable regardless of how old it was. Couch was perfect for my afternoon nap while listening to the waves crash… best nap EVER! So If u want a quiet, clean place to stay located right by beach & away from tourist-y stuff, have the best view at all times ..even from the bed in the master this place is for u…The private beach was very beyond epic and never crowded. The staff I saw cleaning chairs or common areas or doing small maintenance work always smiling & wanting to help me to make sure guests were happy! The day after wedding several of us staying at KS put together a small casual brunch for few wedding guests about 15 ppl who were staying different places around Maui. It was nice to have full kitchen & was easy to pull off making food for everyone to enjoy especially having that big common area right by my condo that we could all easily sit together at and watch turtles play Big plus to A5 location was the convenience of being able to walk out from the patio slider go down stairs to common area in less than a min. And another one min walk to the private beach. HEAVEN ..I didn’t want to leave but would definitely stay here again !!! Aloha Maui…Til next time….

Great location, but choose a different unit

Pros: great location, beautiful views, easy check-in, condo grounds & amenities are well kept. Cons: this unit has not been deep cleaned for quite some time. Doorframes had dark grey sections from dirt, most light switches were visibly dirty, thick coating of dust on kitchen cabinets, stairway carpet was disgusting (wouldn't walk on it barefoot), we covered the couch with a sheet in order to sit on it, and it smelled bad. In short, you can tell the place is quickly cleaned between guests but not much more than that has been done for awhile. We were extremely disappointed in the cleanliness which is sad because most of the people we talked to have been coming here for 15+ years. I don't think we'll be saying the same.

Inside we had problems like WiFi not working in certain rooms, difficulty with the tv working at times, had our pop tart get stuck in the old toaster they had, the upstairs guest bathtub wouldn’t plug, etc. nothing looks like it’s been updated in years and things like the beds aren’t super comfortable. That being said, the location was incredible as well as the views, beach, beach, and pool was nice.

Fantastic view of the sunset

The goods: The view from the property is awesome. The private beach is nice. The property owner is very responsive . The not so goods: the smell in the property is just bad. Not sure what that smell is, maybe it’s just the smell of the old house or mildew or something. The smell even stuck to all our clothes when we got to Honolulu that we have to wash off all our clothes when we got there. The property owner offered to resolve the smell, but I doubted that it could be resolved quickly. The property is just old and property needs remodeling. There were a lot of sugar ants in the kitchen. Not sure why it’s not treated with pest controls. We would not come back to this unit if it’s in the same condition.

Great Location

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rental process was easy. Condo is pretty tired. Needs some paint and refreshing. Pots and pans are hodgepodge and low quality. Dishwasher and air conditioner leaked. Dishwasher wasn’t fixed during stay. Master bedroom mattress is old and hard. Only provided “starter” supplies such as TP and Soap. First time I’ve had to purchase body soap and TP on a vacation!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was wonderful and grounds were very well maintained and beautiful. The condo needs some updates, you may want to remove “just remodeled from the description”. Paying the premium price for direct front wasn’t worth it , the photos must be old. We would definitely stay at Kahana Sunset again, but a different unit.
