Enjoy Southern Grandeur and Comfort in one of the most majestic homes in Apalachicola! Located in the center of the Historic District and less than two blocks from the restaurants, shops, galleries and pubs! Six Suites and one Studio available.

GREEN with ENVY Suite is on the 2nd floor of the Majestic Jewel Inn, located just steps away from historical downtown Apalachicola & 4 blocks from the river wharf & the bay.

Enjoy the serenity in this huge suite with a super comfortable QUEEN SIZE bed, daybed & sitting area. Furnished with a mixture of antiques with added modern amenities such as a small fridge, smart TV, lighted make up mirror & hair dryer, ceiling & rotary fans plus central heat & air.

The private bath is beautifully tiled with a shower/tub combination and a vessel sink on an antique vanity. Linens & toiletries provided! Take time to do an Epsom Salt soak!

Although we are not a B & B, we do supply guests with self-serve coffee, tea, cold drinks, bottled water, milk, cereal & oatmeal PLUS an excellent environment to mix & mingle or simply relax & regroup! We have seven other rental suites in the Majestic Jewel Inn as well as many common areas for our guests to enjoy. Mix and Mingle or simply relax! Park your car and explore on foot or our electric cart. So much to see and do for nature lovers, photographers, art collectors, pub crawlers and seafood lovers! If you simply need to get away and relax, we have the perfect wrap around veranda to hang out on. In fact we have two, one on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd floor! Always a breeze blowing through the Palm Trees and the Spanish Moss on our huge Oak trees! Embrace the pace of Apalachicola, we promise you won't want to leave!

Perfect historic getaway

The Majestic Jewel is hands down the cleanest historic home I’ve ever stayed in. It’s so well maintained, cozy, and accommodating. Everything was spotless and they really thought through amenities for guests. It’s walkable to everything in downtown Apalach too, which is nice. We would definitely stay there again.

We absolutely loved our stay in Green with Envy. The home is beautifully restored and the hosts clearly have it down. Friendly folks who run a very efficient place. The room was clean and comfortable, and we especially liked walking out on the veranda. It's a quick stroll to the old Florida business area, with great choices for eating. (We really enjoyed the Crab Cafe and Coffee and Chocolate.) Thank you, Greg and June, for helping us stay an extra night. We'll be back!

The Majestic Jewel was absolutely wonderful and had so much charm, history, character, beauty and friendliness. The hosts (June and Greg...and their beloved dog Oliver) were like friends from the start to finish! My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend stay at the Majestic Jewel. We found the accommodations to be comfortable, warm, clean and full of lovely decor both in our room and all the common areas. The hosts communicated well and were accessible if needed. And you can't beach the Apalachicola area for a quiet waterfronttown close to some of the prettiest beaches around!

Lovely New Years stay

We had a sweet, quiet stay in the "Green With Envy" room over New Years weekend. The owners of the Majestic Jewel are very friendly and attentive to lodgers' needs... it's their home too, and it shows. We'll be back next chance we get!

Although I did not meet June, the host, she was very quick to respond to texts. Large room with very clean bathroom. Great location- short walk to town. Appreciated the cold water and coffee available in the lobby as well as the hand sanitizer!

We stayed in the Green with Envy Suite and regretted the short two night stay. We wanted more. Comfortable well maintained suite in a gorgeous older home. The owners are wonderful. We will be back!

Four Nights at the Jewel

This is a beautiful and unique property. It is elegant, but quirky. A lot of its charm is in its history, progress and potential. My daughter and I had plenty of room with the day bed in our suite. We enjoyed learning about the rich history of Apalachicola and the family who built the house. We stayed during Covid and felt very safe and comfortable sharing the kitchen- as all the other guests were very respectful and sanitizer was available at several stations in the house. My teenager particularly enjoyed the ramen, cookies, and snacks that were provided. I was happy to have bottled water to drink, and to be such a short walking distance to the coffee and amazing Arepas at the Cafè Con Leche restaurant.

Everything we could’ve hoped for

This was my husband and my first time in Apalachicola Florida. We chose the Majestic Jewel because we wanted a place that had history, beautiful architecture and was comfortable. We had all three at the Majestic Jewel. We stayed in the Green With Envy room and the accommodations were perfect. The bed was very comfortable, which is a big thing for me. The available food and beverages in the communal kitchen area was diverse enough to cover a lot of appetites. We highly recommend this place to stay for a couple nights or for a week. The food at all the places we ate was fantastic and the locals couldn’t have been more friendly.

"Just the girls" getaway weekend

Such a great place with a great host. Second trip this year, and plan to book again soon. We had a great time visiting the shops, beaching at St. George Island, and exploring the local parks. June even taught us how to play the card game 313! We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Step back in history. The whole town is right outside your door. Loved being in a historical home that blended original architecture with modern amenities. Hosts were so friendly & could tell they worked hard to make visit & the house a place to unwind & meet others! Privacy if needed or nice guests to chat with on veranda.

Greg & June's dream came true when they purchased this historic home in Apalachicola!
They were determined to bring the "jewel" back to life! With the help of a few good friends & countless plumbers & electricians, their vision became a reality!

They love sharing their home & the charming little town of Apalachicola with guests. After selling their import business in 2020, they are able to spend 70% of the month in Apalachicola & the remainder at their home in Atlanta. Although they are not in residence 100% of the time, they welcome requests from guests who prefer to visit while they are there.

Why they chose this property

In 2017, seeking to simplify life, the search was on for an opportunity to open a "small" business in Apalachicola. All roads kept leading back to the "jewel". It had so much potential yet had been sitting empty & dark for almost 8 years. It was originally built on 1908 as a private residence for the family of a prominent German immigrant who made his wealth in dry goods industry in Apalachicola. It did not change hands until the 1980's when it was bought, restored & converted into a bank & an insurance agency. The old bank lobby is now the Hospitality Lobby & guest kitchenette. History of the home & its people are exhibited here.

Although they did not simplify their life, the potential of the "jewel" called their names and the rest is part of her history! The "Jewel of Apalachicola" as the town folk called her, became the MAJESTIC JEWEL & hosted the first guests on December 31st, 2017.

June & Greg are repeatedly told by guests that this home is so majestic yet so comfortable & serene! It must be seen & felt! Photos do not do it justice!

Staying at the Majestic Jewel is the best way to experience southern grandeur in the charming little town of Apalachicola. Located in the center of the historic district, beauty surrounds us! So much to see and all in walking distance from the Majestic Jewel! Less than 2 blocks to the galleries, shops, restaurants & night life, 4 blocks to the river wharf & the bay. The beautiful beaches of St George Island are just a 10 minute drive & Cape San Blas 20 minutes!
