About this property

Maine Ocean House

Perfect retreat from this busy world. 1850's peaceful house on 5 acres with oceanfront and a rustic barn. Love cappuccinos? Green Tree Coffee Roasters, featured in the NY Times, is across the street. Waking up downwind on a roasting day is the best. Dots gourmet shop is a couple doors down. Relax in the big bay window or walk down the property to the ocean bluff 0.5m. You can relax in the Adirondack chairs and watch the boats or use the stair access & walk along the water to Lincolnville Beach Grab some gourmet sandwiches and maybe a bottle of wine from Dot's for a picnic then take the Islesboro ferry for a day trip to this beautiful island. The kitchen has a big bay window and window seat which are perfect for relaxing. For those who love cooking, the kitchen is equipped with a professional gas stove with double oven. There is a dining room and living room as well as the library, which has a queen bed. The downstairs bathroom has a shower. The upstairs features beautiful 12" pumpkin pine boards. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a full bath with a tub. In total, three bedrooms, two bath and a new queen pullout couch in the living room. Our barn still has its rustic charm and its own unique history. Jane Wazey, a previous owner used the barn as her art studio and carved the Andre the Seal statue. The statue is located in Rockport Harbor. If you are not familiar with the story about Andre the Seal, he lived with a local family and would return every year. It is worth reading the book or watching the movie before you come visit, especially if you have young children. https://newengland.com/today/travel/maine/portland/andre-the-seal/ Guests have use of the whole house except for a closet in the main house and access to the main floor of the barn as well. Lincolnville Beach is the perfect quiet town with much less tourist crowd than Camden. But if you desire the clothing shops or restaurants of Camden we are only ten minutes away. It is the best of both.
