The property is very comfortable and cozy and is even cuter than shown in the photos. The directions make it easy to find, and the kayaks are stored right on the beach and were easy to access and use.

Wonderful little cabin! We were a group of six and there was plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The walk to the beach was very short, and the beach wasn't crowded at all during our stay. Huge plus with the kayaks and kids sand toys! Our only complaint was that the host was unresponsive during our stay. Luckily, we just had a couple silly questions about activities.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that your group of six had plenty of room, enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, and loved the short walk to the beach, kayaks, and sand toys. We’re especially glad you found the beach peaceful and uncrowded during your stay! We’re very sorry that we missed your pickleball question and that it left you feeling that we were unresponsive. We truly apologize—we never saw the message come through and would have been happy to help. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention and will be keeping a closer eye on our messages to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Thank you again for staying with us!

Cozy, fun and really great for or whole family. It was a great place to use as a base camp when skiing and to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. It had everything we needed.

Perfect little getaway

My son and I stayed here for our father son getaway and it was perfect for the two of us. Close to town and to mountain biking, which was excellent. It was clean, comfortable and perfect for the two of us.

The cabin was super cute, spotless and well equipped with everything you would need. The setting was beautiful in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The only downside was that the beach access was a little further than advertised. Other than that it was a completely enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back!

Awesome Cabin! Our kids had a blast and we have so many amazing memories from this vacation. The cabin was clean and cozy, and the lake was so close we went kayaking and had a beach picnic everyday! The few neighbors were extremely friendly. Only a couple of very small issues came up during our stay, and Jeff responded to my calls quickly and resolved our issues immediately. What an amazing first experience for our family in McCall. We will be back!!

Huckleberry Hideaway

We had a very nice stay at this property, in spite of bad weather almost the entire time we were there. We had a total of 4 people. Two staying in the main house and 2 in the bunkhouse. The owner did not miss any tricks in having the property well equipped and perfect use of all the space available. Everything was in order and clean. It was close in to McCall and various restaurants, shops, etc. We definitely would stay ther again.

This cabin is a cutie! The location was great for a base camp for our adventures. The inside staircase leading to the A Frame bedroom upstairs was challenging but there is an outside staircase that was less difficult to access the bedroom. The private beach was nice and the provided beach cart came in handy! We didn’t swim at the beach due to the boats but there are several other beaches in the area that are beautiful for swimming. The only drawback was that the back deck didn’t have an awning or canopy so we were unable to use it for a few days due to the rain. Thank you

The Huckleberry Hideaway- Small but Mighty!

While the Huckleberry Hideaway may be small in size it is large in every other way- experience, location, amenities, and comfort! It is in a great location with easy access to a wonderful beach. The downstairs indoor space is amazingly spacious and comfortable. This along with the outdoor areas ( a front porch and large back patio) accommodated our family quite nicely. It was quiet and peaceful with many deer roaming the neighborhood. We are a tall family, so the upstairs bedrooms were a little tight while maneuvering into bed, but the beds were comfortable and the ceiling fans and windows kept it cool even during this heatwave. Jeff, our host, was super responsive with all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great week in McCall!

A true hideaway on Payette Lake

The Huckleberry Hideaway is a great small cabin in a wonderful spot on Payette Lake. It is definitely small, but well laid out with a nice living area, dining table and cooking area. This would not be good for anyone with mobility issues, but works well if you can navigate the tight spaces - especially upstairs. We were a family of four and it was a good size for us - it was wonderful to have the small bungalow bedroom as a place for one of our boys to have his own space. The only real challenge we had was the lack of laundry facilities - this would be fine for a few days or a week but anything longer requires a trip to the laundromat which can be a pain. Overall though the beach is very nice and the neighborhood is sweet. A great place for a getaway or a short family vacation.

A frame

The description of how close the lake is a little misleading it’s more like a 4-5 min walk. I didn’t take any stars off because they do provide 2 nice kayaks. No room to hang or unpack your things or place to put. Suitcase.

Lovely Petite Cabin

A lot of care and thought has been put into this lovely little cabin. It's outfitted very well, had very comfortable beds, and enough hot water for a family of 4. I love the little swing chair and picnic table for meals on the back deck. We loved the beach and the kayaks, and all of the neighbors were incredibly friendly! What a charming little cabin! Thank you for a wonderful long weekend in McCall!

Cozy and peaceful

We’ve enjoyed the huckleberry hide way before, it’s nice to see the owners not raise their prices too much over the years- integrity is what comes to mind❤️The cabins are the perfect getaway, enjoyed the deer on the property as well, just really a wonderful place.

Beautiful McCall

We had a great time in the McCall.. The house is beautifully decorated with innovative use of small spaces. Everything is supplied that you need for a great vacation. The spiral stairs were a little tricky coming down in the middle of the night. Beautiful setting. Has everything you need. Lisa and Mark
