Affordable Cancun Oceanfront Condo at the "Zona Hotelera" Hotel Zone

Our condo is offered fully furnished and ready to enjoy. A separate shower and sink allows for 2 people to get ready for the day at the same time. The kitchenette has a space for everything you need. A full size refrigerator was recently added for those who like to cook and keep things fresh. The dining table is just right for a meal, a quick snack, or even working on computer. Two queen size beds allow for up to 4 people to sleep comfortably. Wall to Wall sliding glass doors let the sunshine and happiness in (ocean view from anywhere in the room). Head out to the spacious terrace to enjoy morning coffee and take in the sights and sounds of the beach and Caribbean ocean. The room also has a beautiful view over the pool and garden areas right next to the beach.

Solymar is part hotel and part private condominiums. Enjoy the best of both worlds with great onsite amenities like a beautiful pool with swim up bar, a kids pool, 2 restaurants to choose from, a shop, lighted tennis courts and 24 hour security. There is an all inclusive option available to all of our guests, which you can get for any single day during your stay, multiple days, or even for you whole stay, which includes all meals and beverages of your choice. Otherwise, you can always enjoy these resort style amenities only when/if you desire and pay as you go. So convenient! Free Wi-Fi/Internet, free parking, and absolutely no resort fees.

This 270 unit 'Beach Front Resort is located in Cancun's famous "Zona Hotelera" (Hotel Zone) about midway between Club Med and the Hilton Hotel. If you are seeking a peaceful vacation, yet want to be near all the attractions, restaurants and night time entertainment Cancun offers, then this is the place for you!

The beach in front of the resort offers white soft sand and clear turquoise waters. Traveler reviews consistently rate this as one of the nicest beaches in all of Cancun.

Our unit is conveniently located on the second floor of the Resort, with an elevator nearby. As you can see from our pictures, this unit has an incredible view of the pool, gardens, beach and ocean.

Just recently (October 2020) the studio was updated with new furniture and 55” HD Smart TV. Also recently we had a new custom made Kitchenette, dinning room set, Marble top bathroom vanity, full size refrigerator, microwave, beds, curtains & armoire installed. It is with out a doubt one of the nicest Studios in the Resort.

Although this is our privately owned studio/condo, we enjoy its "resort type" facilities. The complex has 24-hour security including a gated entry, staffed laundromat, a mini market, on-site restaurants (2), lobby, pool & beach bar.

We hope you will come and enjoy our little piece of paradise during a fun and active vacation, or just to get away from it all and relax.

If weather conditions make it impossible for you to arrive according to your reservation dates, we will gladly offer you a full credit for a future stay.

Beautiful Beach Location! Plenty of beach chairs and Palapas to shield you from the hot Sun! The beach towels were large and fit perfectly on the sun chair. Rodrigo, the host was fast to respond to any questions. Check in was a breeze. The unit was fantastic! Loved the full size fridge and the view from the balcony was beautiful. You could heard the ocean from your balcony, it was so relaxing! We had a long term stay and the kitchen was great to prepare meals. Plenty of storage for your clothes with dressers and a large closet. The walk in shower had a new amazing rain shower. The fast wifi was an added bonus. Rodrigo’s unit was fantastic and we definitely will be staying here again in the future.Thank you so much for a Beautiful Relaxing Stay!

The host is wonderful. He made the stay clear, simple and organized from the outset. The unit was clean, comfortable bed with all amenities. The nice balcony has a terrific view of the ocean. It was a great space to catch up on some reading. The central location to restaurants and other activities was perfect. Finally, security is always important. Fortunately, the property includes excellent and helpful security at the entrance. I couldn't ask for a better experience.

Best vacation ever!

The property is safe and clean. It's in a great location. We road the bus up and down Cancun. It was nice to have the kitchen. The beach was beautiful. We used the pool a lot. Lots of lizards. My kid loved it.

Communication with Rodrigo was excellent. The place was great and the view is awesome. There is easy access to the beach and pool areas. The unit has everything needed to cook and the beds are comfortable. I will definitely be back.

The view was fabulous and Rodrigo was excellent. The unit was spacious and had everything I needed. The property itself had way too many stairs for me as I have mobility issues. For someone who enjoys exercise it’s great. I did not leave the premises of my closing so not too sure of the off site amenities. It as a safe and comfortable environment to relax, the patio and view was my peaceful place. Thank you Rodrigo!

Memorable Vacation

The property was wonderful! For our first time visiting Cancun, our accommodations were very important and this property hit the mark. The beautiful view of ocean from the balcony made waking up breathtakingly easy. Also, getting around was a breeze with the bus stop right in front of the building. Rodrigo, our host, was so accommodating and responsive that he made our stay stress free! As first timers to Mexico but frequent travelers, we will definitely return.

Very nice resort.

Resort was nice. Quiet peaceful and relaxing away from the party scene. Restaurants were nothing special but one of them the beach bar and grille we enjoyed the other not really. Rodrigo was excellent to work with and great communication. Unit has everything you need. Great view and very short walk to the beach.

Wow! Great place! Overlooking the ocean from the balcony was one of the best part of my stay, surrounded by great food places! 5 star. I totally recommend this place and hopefully at some point I will be back sometime in the near future!

Don’t stay here.

If you are only looking for just a bed to sleep in while you stay in Cancun, this place may work. Thank goodness for the personal touch my dentist put on my trip. I will not be staying here when I come back in a month. Rodrigo was sent the pictures. I didn't want to post them here.

The property is right by the beach in the central location of the hotel zone. At first it seemed that there might be a problem because there was a change in ownership after the reservation had been made. But, the new owners were wonderful and helpful. After a need (VRBO rules) to cancel our reservation and rebook it under their (new owners) account we were very happy with the property. There was a very very informative and prepared packet for us before we arrived. And, once there it was so easy to check in and check out.

Unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure of staying in the condo. The owner notified me immediately when he was made aware that there was going to be maintenance work being done on the pool for the entire month of May. I am sincerely appreciative for his honesty. I did cancel my reservation and was issued a full refund. I did have opportunity to pass by and see the solymar compound during my travels and it appeared to be a place that I would have enjoyed staying. The resort is in a beautiful area with nice surrounding properties.

Great affordable Cancun option.

My husband and I stayed at Rodrigo's studio condo for eight days and had a great time. The condo is as described and had a great view, comfortable beds and all the essentials. Could use a couple more towels and dish towels for those who have longer stays, but otherwise no issues. Beach is great and staff get lounge chairs for tips. Plan to ride the bus to get to other restuarants and shopping as not much is close by, but this is not a big issue since the busses are safe, cheap and very convenient. We especially liked the Isla mall area and La Parrilla restaurant for fun Mexican food and atmosphere and Ahh Cocoa for the lattes and sipping chocolate. Joe's restaurant at 19.5 is a good choice for something in walking distance from condo. We did the all inclusive option at condo for one day and it was fine, just wouldn't want to do it all week. Overall, we had a great week and I would definitely do it again!!

Perfect get away

The room was clean, comfortable and just right for our family vacation! The view was absolutely spectacular, and it was wonderful having a covered balcony to enjoy (even during rain). There was plenty of storage for our belongings in the kitchen area, living space, and underneath the bathroom vanity. The kitchen was well equipped, having a full sized refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, and cooktop. There were cooking utensils, a couple of cutting boards, fry pans and a large covered pot with strainer, cutlery, dishes, coffee mugs, drinking glasses and small cooler. Guests should bring their own paper towels, foil, ziplocks, etc. if they regularly use them in the kitchen. The pool was clean and one depth (no deep section) and was easily accessible from the room. The wooden chairs by the pool were uncomfortable but those offered by the beach were much more comfortable/adjustable. The beach was beautiful! The snack bar on the beach offered inexpensive light fare if guests didn’t want the all-inclusive option.

Just got back from a 5 day get away. Condo was GREAT. It was clean, well equipped and spacious (it was just two of us) . The owner's communication was the best I have ever had. Part of the complex is a resort with an all inclusive package. That can get a little confusing at times (mostly with the restaurant and beach bar), just takes a little time to figure it out. Bus stop is right outside the complex with multiple stops along the way. El Rey ruins are about a 10 minute walk. Very large grocery store is a 15 minute bus ride away. We are already talking about going back. Only one issue and the owner contacted us within minutes of booking the vacation to let us know. As I said, the communication was absolutely wonderful! Pool was being worked on. We assumed it was being resurfaced. It was being enlarged and reworked. Jack hammers and a lot of construction noise from 8 am till about 8 pm. Luckily, sliding glass door is VERY insulated. Could barely heard it. Can't wait to see the new pool on our next stay.

Checkin was terrifying, afterwards was pleasant

The checkin process was terrifying. The man at the gate demanded a QR code, which I was never given. I had poor cell reception but wasn't able to use the hotel/condo's wifi because they couldn't confirm that I was a tenant. So I had to beg for help from someone who was staying at the adjacent hotel. When I contacted vrbo, they sent me to an Indian call center that lied and said all I needed was a 4 digit code. After several times more of harassing the guy at the gate, calling my wife for help, calling the call center, copying down various QR codes that were on the vrbo website, the guy at the gate relented and let me through without a QR code. The instructions given by the host that had the 4 digit code put down a 3 digit room number. I later realized this was a typo since on page two there was a correct 4 digit room number. Since I asked reception how to find a room with a 3 digit room number, the entire hotel/condo staff asked me questions and was very skeptical of my presence there. Getting into my hotel room overall took about 3 hours.Finally, the host sent me the QR code later in the evening. Only then, did the hotel/condo staff stop treating me like a criminal. Afterwards the experience was pleasant. The host left behind a blender as requested. The view from the balcony was magnificent and I loved the ocean. Taking the bus downtown was easy and inexpensive.

We spent 4 nights here which we now realize is not near enough!! Leaving this morning but we WILL be back. Condo is nice, view from balcony beautiful. Condo very clean and plenty of space for two people. Internet is great, TV has many English channels but we spent most of our time on beach... however they do take your chair at 5. I'm the type you have to drag off the beach so I was really sad to give my chair up when there was so much beautiful day left. Also if your not "all inclusive" dining options very limited. We just went to Oxxo and got lunch stuff and made spaghetti one night. Ate lunch every day at Beach grill .. Juan and Eduardo were great. Guacamole delicious as were fish Tacos. Beer ice cold. Mixed drinks were OK not great. Opted for water last day and it cost more than a margarita but it was a huge bottle. I love the beach vendors coming by. Bought starfish and some bracelets. Everyone has been very friendly... even taking my chair ( which were very comfy and plentiful) Lots of space on beach.. unlike Destin. Condo dwellers get a much nicer chair so be sure you get one for "Condo " Rodrigo was very helpful and timely with information. I have suggestions for a couple of things but nothing that would stop me from coming again. Pillows were great, sheets soft, bed just a little firm, AirConditoner very cold and easy to cool down so do as he asks and turn off while you are gone. Breeze and waves at night incredible. Last two nights too humid and warm but first two night... incredible! We were looking for a regular come to place in Cancun and I hope we have found it. We LOVED IT!!!!

Loved it, exactly what we wanted!

First I'd like to compliment Rodrigo on being absolutely great with all communications and answering all of our questions. He was always giving us all the details we needed in a timely manner. The condo is fantastic and exactly what we wanted. Everything looks exactly like in the pictures. Furniture is new, it was very clean, great size shower and balcony and the view is breathtaking. Loved the keyless lock as it was great not having to worry about keys or cards. The resort has everything you may need, two pools - one with wet bar, the other for children, buffet, restaurant on the beach, lounge chairs on the beach, lots of iguanas to take pictures of :D. We were not fans of the food in the buffet (you can pay $50/day per person to use the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner or $20 per meal per person) so we mainly ate out or prepared something light in the condo. Kitchen was well stocked with enough silverware, plates etc. There was no garbage bags but we used the plastic bags we had from shopping. The AC worked great and cooled down the room very fast. The area is pretty safe, we walked to the nearby Oxxo market and had dinner at "Navios" (recommended! great food and atmosphere!), both were at about 6-7 minutes walk. We took the bus to downtown once (bus stop is literally right outside the gate) and the rest of the time we took taxis and there was always a couple of taxis in front of the resort. You can negotiate your taxi fare just as you can negotiate prices of souvenirs at the flea market in Cancun. We were far away from the main craziness of the hotel zone to have great beach days without the crowds but close enough to be able to take the bus for $1 and be downtown in 15 minutes. We took some great tours to many attractions that we had arranged previously and loved all of them! It was storming on 2 of the 9 nights we spent there but it was always sunny and beautiful during the day. Overall the location, the condo itself and the resort amenities were great and we will certainly come back to Rodrigo's condo again in the future!

In 2015 we finally did something we've been planning out for years... to have our very own vacation property. Every time we used VRBO to rent one for us during the last several years we kept thinking, "that would be a great way to go about a beach front property in the Caribbean". So we finally did it! And we were extremely lucky to find a property like this, in great condition, and in a beautiful and extremely convenient location/setup!

Why they chose this property

My wife and I were both born and raised in Mexico (Guadalajara). About 25 years ago, my career forced us to relocate to north central Florida (Gainesville) were we lived for 10 years. Then another career move forced us to move a little bit further north, the Pocono Mountains (East Stroudsburg, PA). In 2018, we moved to Denver (Colorado). So after 25 years living as ex-pats we take every chance we get to take our two your kids, (11 and 14) to our beloved home country...

What makes this property unique

There's so much to see and do around Cancun, that location plays a HUGE role on how much you get out of your visit as a tourist. So staying at the main tourist zone ("Zona Hotelera") gives you a logistical advantage in order to move around with ease. If you rent a car, fantastic. But if you don't, the public transportation system runs 24/7 and the closest stop is right outside this resort.
