About this property

St. Lucia Private Oceanfront Secluded Villa with Pool/Full Staff Including Chef

A secluded, private oceanfront villa with stunning 360 degree views of the Caribbean sea, lush valley and mountains. Unique open air architecture to allow you to truly enjoy the Caribbean breezes and extraordinary views. Staff of 3+ - all cooking, cleaning, laundry is provided. Tucked away, hiddden beach, stereo, etc. Truly a paradise for 2-3 couples, 6 friends or a family or two. Shower al fresco in Les Chaudieres' outdoor shower room!

Les Chaudieres sits on a promontory above the Caribbean Sea and the Anse Galet valley and beach, with cooling breezes, panoramic views of tropical mountains and the sea. The beach is just below and you can hear the surf. Hike a trail down to enjoy this secluded shoreline with snorkeling, or you can drive around to it with equipment / picnic supplies in 2 minutes. All beaches on St. Lucia are public property, but Anse Galet has no commercial or residential development on it. It is usual to have it entirely to yourself (but on occasion, there will be the odd party / get-together; in which case, be prepared for some local music).

You will want to explore the island some, but Christy's amazing cuisine will keep beckoning you back to home. Although the purchase/cost of groceries and beverages are not included, Christy and her staff will plan menus with you and turn out Caribbean feasts you will long remember. And all the cleanup is taken care of, so you hardly have to lift a finger.

Please see our website for more info and availability. We are booking more than a year in advance, so please consider reserving now!

I hope my review will do justice to this gem of a place. I searched “VRBO with a chef St Lucia” and this is where we landed. The pictures are accurate. From the moment we stepped off the plane and met Lenny - until the very end when he dropped us at the airport - we were well taken care of. Christy, Kershell and Lenny absolutely made our trip. The place is amazing- beds made and bathrooms cleaneddaily. Comfortable beds with air conditioned rooms. We had delicious meals thanks to Christy and Kershell. We also did a few excursions which were organized through Christy - she knew how to get stuff done. And Lenny safely transported us all over the island (would not recommend renting a car). We had kids 18-21 with us and they loved it. We had precious family time, played games, watched sunsets and just relaxed. We will be back!!

Beautiful Place

The property was really cool, definitely has its differences from a resort. 1. No Tvs 2. No real sence of privacy ( open air living ) 3. I would be very cautious with toddlers at this property. Beyond that the staff was amazing and accommodating. The views, fruit trees , pool, ocean and mountain views were very picturesque. The meals prepared for us were delicious. I would definitely stay here again just probably without kids. Oh and the near by beach is awesome for convenience and meeting locals. All and all great vacation.

Great Vacation for Our Family

My adult kids, significant others and my wife and I were looking for a vacation on a Caribbean island and found this piece of paradise. Christy is the house manager who can help you plan and find anything on the island through her connection. Her cooking is phenomenal. We only ate out at lunch when we were traveling or doing things around the island. This property is in a secluded spot but was perfect for us and allowed for some needed quiet and down time. The scenery and the access to the beach were great. We did rent a car which worked out great and gave us flexibility, but we used Lenny to drive us one evening for those who would prefer a driver. The other staff (Kimani and Stine) were also great and very friendly. We got to eat and drink from coconuts, go crab hunting and shoot a canon which added to our experience. We wanted for nothing and felt like this was more of an authentic island experience. I'm hoping that we get to come back again in the next couple of years to share this experience with some of our friends. Thank you to the staff that helped make our experience so great and spoiled us so much.

The house is located on a peninsula with incredible views. It is very quiet and somewhat isolated. I would recommend having a car. Kristy and crew were great. No need to go out to eat as her cooking is terrific. Pool was just re-plastered. Recommendations would be to redo the bathrooms as they are dated. Otherwise, we loved our stay. Would return.

Wonderful stay, gorgeous location

Just back from a lovely stay with Christy and team. We very much enjoyed the week in St Lucia! The rental has a private staircase right down to the beach were we did some excellent snorkeling. Ti Kaye beach is also quite close and also excellent snorkeling. Food at rental was satisfying and meals in the open air dining room cant be beat. Outdoor shower also a highlight. Great stargazing, backgammon, watching boats through the field lens, playing croquet, speculating on the nature of toads.

Quiet, Relaxing, Beautiful, and Views

We really enjoyed our time at Les Chaudieres. The views were incredible and the villa was clean and comfortable. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. We will fondly remember the delicious meals Christy and Kershell prepared. It's centrally located and we were easily able to go south to Soufriere to walk the botanical garden, enjoy the falls and drive over to Anse Chastanet for some wonderful snorkeling. We also drove north to Castries and caught our boat for a fishing excursion. We went at the beginning of the wet season so it was very warm and humid, but that did nothing to detract from our time in St. Lucia. We enjoyed our time and would not hesitate to repeat our stay in the future.

Paradise!

Our trip was beautiful! We had wonderful weather with a few passing showers that helped cool things down, but overall it was lovely. The villa sits on the cliff side with stunning views of the sunset every evening. Our chef, Christy, was a local resident who brought the delicious taste of true Caribbean food to our table each day. What a blessing she was! We had rental cars and took many excursions to Marigot Bay (loved it), the rain forest, catamaran snorkeling, sulfur springs/mud bath, waterfalls, crabbing with Styne, lounging in the infinity pool with views of the calm Caribbean ocean. Driving was somewhat challenging, but doable for the adventurous souls! Bedrooms had A/C, but be prepared for the possibly sticky nights as all windows have only screens with open slat shutters. Very typical of the Caribbean but does not keep bedrooms as cool as it does in the states. I give this place 5 plus stars and encourage anyone who travels there to be prepared to eat all of your meals at home with Christy! You will NOT be disappointed!

Nothing short of astonishing

I cannot over emphasise how amazing our stay at La Chaudieres was. The location is stunning, with views over the beach, the rainforest covered mountains, the local fishing villages. It is honestly breathtaking. If you can tear your eyes away from the surroundings, the house itself is wonderful. Sitting in the hammock, or relaxing at the multitude of different seating areas, you can't fail to relax. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are spacious. There are some reviews which suggest the property is a bit tired, which I don't agree with. Sure the bathrooms need updating, but that's such a minor element, I only mention it to defend previous comments. If you're looking for modern pristine, go to Sandals and enjoy an anonymous holiday. If you want luxury in St Lucia, look no further. But beyond the stunning views and the lovely house, this place is all about the people. Christy is the most phenomenal cook. Every meal was a joy and an adventure. Cushelle, who cooks breakfast, Lenny, the driver, Hillary the security guy, they felt like family, like friends for our stay. Although we were in a very plush environment, we truly felt like we were getting to know St Lucia, the food, the people, the culture. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Just thanks for a wonderful, much needed holiday. It was awesome.

Classic Caribbean Hideaway

Located on a promontory, giving the most stunning views and a sense of peace and privacy. Nearby Anse La Raye is a pretty, unspoiled fishing village. But do not expect to find restaurants or shops. This part of the island is often overlooked and has a true Caribbean feeling. The villa is designed as open-plan and exudes a sense of genteel elegance, making you feel like a welcome visitor in a private home. The crowning glory is Christy, Kershell and Hillary. A few other villas also offer staff, but this is usually limited to breakfast and lunch. By negotiation, Christy is willing to provide additional services (though be mindful that this may be above her normal duties). She is an excellent cook, but not everything is available on the island and so you may not be able to have what you are used to. She is an expert at using readily available ingredients to serve delicious meals. Christy can organise airport pickup and outings using the wonderful Lenny. Also boat trips (highly recommended). This will be a small traditional fishing boat at a fraction of the cost you would be charged for the loud, floating discos you see coming from the north of the island. The villa has recently changed hands and the new owners have begun updating. Air-con has been installed and the water pressure improved. This is the place for people who enjoy a sedate, peaceful paradise, rather than a buzzing full-on holiday package. Needless to say we have already re-booked for next year

A Bit of a Letdown

I'm not writing this review to bash the owner or try to get any sort of refund from him, but more so to make others aware of things we encountered that they may want to inquire about before booking. - There was a problem with the water pump during our stay and we were unable to use the pool for half of the week. Needless to say, the pool is one of the main features of the property and it was one less thing our two teenage boys had to do during our stay. So, make sure the pump has been remedied before you book, as it also limited the days laundry could be done. - If you are going to have the staff get your first couple days of food, be specific about what you want. We weren't very specific and ended up with two fish dinners, with the fish alone costing $120 (US). Seems a little expensive for four people to have local fish. Stop at the supermarket in Cul de Sac on the way from the airport and get your own food. - There is some sort of bar/club on the hill, behind the house, that blared music on multiple nights well past midnight. With no glass windows in the house, it kept us up when we wanted to be asleep. - While we knew that the beach down below was not part of the property, we were under the impression that it was rarely used. And maybe this was because we were there during a holiday week, but there were people on the beach almost every day, having barbecues and playing music. While we were not opposed to mixing with the locals, it's not something we felt comfortable doing. The beach is easily accessible from the main road and would appear to get more use than we were led to believe. - The house is getting a bit old. The great room furniture is worn and tired. While the staff are the primary users of the kitchen, we used it too, and it needs to be re-done. The bathrooms also need to be redone. Everything functioned OK but it's time for the owners to invest in the property and upgrade things to expected standards. - The staff was pleasant enough, but definitely didn't cater to us as other reviewers mentioned. - The views from the pool deck are amazing. We often found ourselves just sitting there watching the boats go by down below. - Internet service was surprisingly good, which helped occupy our boys. All of this was communicated to the owner and he did offer to give us a free week during the off-season to make up for it. It's a nice gesture, but doesn't make up for what turned out to be a letdown of a much-anticipated vacation.

Another fantastic stay

This was our fourth stay in Les Chaudieres. It just keeps getting better. Since buying the property, Anne has started on a program of gradual upgrading. The pool has been renovated and is glorious. There are impressive new beds and even small touches like lovely curtains all help to make the place feel welcoming and luxurious. As usual, Christy, the housekeeper looked after us amazingly and is a font of knowledge, so can usually organise whatever you need. Also Kershell and Stein. Not forgetting Lenny, should you need a taxi for trips out. Try the Coal Pot restaurant in Castries, we loved it.Needless to say, we are already arranging our stay in Les Chaudieres for next year!

Vacation like Royalty in Paradise

We were a group of 3 couples. From the moment Lenny picked us up, this would become the most amazing vacation for all of us! The villa with the views, pool and grounds and great bedrooms to start with. But, then the staff and OH MY-the food! Christy's dinners were fantastic. Our breakfasts and lunches were equally delicious. Kerchel took great care of us every morning with new breakfast menus ever day. And anything else we needed. And then Stein taking care of everything else(made sure we all got fresh coconuts) Between the 3 of them we felt like royalty. The spacious grounds of the villa, the privacy and most especially the staff, make this place feel like your own private resort. The location being centrally located on the east coast was a bonus! My husband and I have stayed in over 20 vacation rentals in the states, on islands and Europe. Nothing tops Les Chaudieres.

Paradise

What an incredible spot. The views from every angle are stunning. Christy was amazing. We had some food intolerances and she made everyone feel safe. On top of that the food was amazing. There were so many favorites. Kochel had breakfast ready every day and much of our trip was relaxing at the villa. We travelled down the stairs to the beach (I might suggest taking a car as the stairs are steep). We went out for dinner one night to the resort down the road (name escapes me). The food there was amazing. Also went to resort between the Pitons. Incredible. Driving is a bit scary if you're not used to windy mountain roads. So many delighters - the outdoor shower, the hummingbird nest nestled in the rafters, the great room for visiting, making puzzles and playing games and the bbq which Christy used to cook a few meals. Perfect if you're looking for a relaxing trip to paradise. Highly recommend.

Photos don’t do it justice

The views from the villa are breathtaking. Mountains and rainforest on one side and a huge expanse of Caribbean Sea the other. You have complete privacy and is very well set up for relaxing indoors and out. The villa is looked after by House manager Christie, driver Lenny, house keeper Kushelle and someone for security and caretaking. They are a truly amazing team. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is incredible and made with “Christie Love”. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Caribbean Paradise

Wow, Les Chaudieres was the perfect spot for my wife and three daughters (19, 21 and 23) to relax and just get some R&R. The staff at the Villa are incredible! Christy is the boss and makes everything go smoothly! If you want something done, she will make it happen. Fresh fruit each morning for breakfast from the trees on the property, mangos, coconuts, papaya. Meals were prepared, laundry washed and all sightseeing tours arranged. We pretty much stayed on the Villa Compound the whole time except when touring. Had an especially great tour of the rainforest where we were able to sight the elusive Amazon Parrot. Then we went crabbing late at night with Stine, and we had such a marvelous time. Our vacation was one we will remember for years and the Villa was perfect, calm and unique and would recommend to anyone! God willing we will return!! -Kirk

Honeymoon

Beryl sucked during our stay. The owner discounted us for the time lost which was great. Christie cooks the best lunch/dinners you can eat. Kershell makes a wonderful breakfast and cleans your room and common areas neatly. The downs: We brought deet bug spray that did nothing to stop the no-see-um type of tiny biting bugs. They did not bother/ affect me, however, my wife was so bad after a few nights of itching/painful bites that she was in tough shape. And of course Beryl shut down the airport and all driving for a day... we had fun and were safe during it all. Last downer was the hot water to the master was out for the last several days.. It was so warm out I was okay, however the wife is usually cold and needed the hot water. Overall the place is private, the food is as good or better than all of the reviews and the staff is stellar. Oh, if you plan on driving south down the west coast... it compares to driving down a bowl in some spots... sketchy. Mark
