Outstanding Pet Friendly Family Retreat on Frye Island in Sebago Lake sleeps 7

Cabin is located on beautiful Frye Island Maine - just a ferry ride away from Island time. Beach 5 is a short ride by golf cart or a 5 minute walk. During your stay you will have access to high speed internet, two smart TV's, a washer, dryer, mini-split A/C unit, electric baseboard heat and a beautiful 3 season tiled den. There is a spacious farmers porch in the front and a large deck in the back with a new outdoor Blackstone Griddle and a Teak table with 6 chairs for outdoor dining. The farmers porch provides an outdoor mini fridge and ample seating for relaxing, reading, listening to music or old fashioned conversations. The side yard has a fire pit with chairs and the back yard is fully fenced in for children and pets. The cabin accommodates 7 guests - there are 3 bedrooms (each with ample closet space) and 2 full bathrooms, one on each floor.
Master bedroom (1st floor): New Queen bed, dresser.
Bunk bedroom (2nd floor): Top Twin bed, Bottom double and trundle bed – 2 dressers.
Guest bedroom (2nd floor): New Queen bed, dresser.

We offer rentals as follows:
High season; 5 nights rental minimum June 15 through Labor Day
Low season; 3 nights rental minimum May 1 - June 14 and Labor Day - October 31.
Check-in is 4 pm; check-out is 11 am.
Pets welcome for additional $100 fee.
A golf cart is available for use (seats 4).

Inside is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, toaster, and a washer/dryer. Stone fireplace is central in the living/dining room with pine flooring and vaulted ceilings.
We provide pillows, comforters, bed linens and extra blankets. Towels are available. Please bring your own paper products.

The closet beach is Beach 5 - other amenities on the Island include family-friendly recreation and anything water or exercise related:

This cabin was perfect for our family of five. We loved sitting on the front porch, relaxing in the screened in room and cooking on the grill. Location is excellent — near Beach 5 and the ball field and a short golf cart ride to the General Store, Cafe and golf course. We will be back!

Wonderful place to stay!

We loved our stay at the cabin. Our baby adored the swing-set in the yard and the house had all of the comforts of home while still feeling rustic and like we were in the woods (exactly the vibe we hoped for). The golf cart was super fun and Beach 5 was close by and possibly the best beach on the island. The house was nicer than the photos. Carol was very responsive and helped us troubleshoot an issue. We love Frye Island and we will be back!

A wonderful place of peace, beauty and rest with all we needed. It was perfect for our family with 3 bedrooms and the 2 bathrooms which were a must. Lots of room to get together for dinner or rainy day games with extended family staying in another cabin as well as quiet spaces to enjoy a book.The little ones loved the new swing set and the little lending library box by the driveway. The golf cart made it easy to bring our beach chairs to the beach which was enjoyed each day. We loved it so much we booked a week next year before leaving. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Wonderful Frye Island Stay

We are so grateful to have found the Thackeray’s Frye Island cabin. We appreciated the clean cabin, air conditioning, the windows and many porches to view deer and turkey, the spaciousness, the washer/dryer, the kitchen, golf cart and location. We just booked a week next year! Thank you!

Annual Frye vacation

This is our second year staying on Paddock lane. Watching the deer grazing around the property and taking a leisurely walk to Beach 5 for our dog to swim in the morning are just a few of the highlights afforded during our stay here.

Everything was good. Kitchen well supplied. Only problem was leaving on a Friday... disposal of garbage. We tried to use the emergency garbage can in garage but it was filled from previous renters. We left a note for cleaning people. As dumping area not open on a Friday, hard to get rid of garbage. We love all the porches, the golf course, the quiet area and location of home. It was a great restful vacation.

My husband and I and our dog were lucky to be able to stay here for just two nights so we could extend our stay on FI. The cottage is very nice; first floor bedroom is all we used. The living space is good and well appointed (only suggestion is that they could use some new cookware.) There’s a nice sun/screen porch but unfortunately it was too hot to be out there. Having the fenced in back yard was great so we could just let our dog out there on occasion. The cottage is in a great location; close to beach 5 which is my favorite beach! We will definitely consider renting again in the future.

Great spot

I gave a couple threes because I had been in touch with the owner on the VRBO app and never got a reply so I was confused about how to get in. Fortunately, I was able to easily, but I was stressing over it on the way. Otherwise it was a beautiful place and the only other issue was that my dog was able to escape once but I got him back. I’m sure the issue at the gate will be fixed. He was able to sneak under it to chase a deer

Like coming home

This is our second time staying at the property, and we’re already counting down to next year. It’s about a 5 minute walk to beach 5. Plenty of places to chill, with decks and porches all around. We love it here, and Jim is a great host! 5 stars!

Rest and Relaxation on Frye Island

It was exactly what we wanted. Able to bring the dog and liked fenced in yard. Decks were great for sitting outside. Cooked on grill a lot. Golfed everyday. Spent some time at Beach 5 (grandkids favorite) and Recreation beach(adults favorite). Dog went swimming at beach5.

The description was accurate. The bonus which we did not know about was access to the golf cart. The golf cart made zipping around the island so much fun. The host was very responsive to a small issue that we discovered after check-in. We very much enjoyed our stay. thank you

A nice quiet location for vacation

What a great location! So close to the best beaches yet off the beaten path that made relaxing on the farmers porch a joy. As others have said Jim was quick to respond when we had a question about the tv and Internet. Actually my only complaint would be a lack of dependable wifi. But this also forced me to disconnect We liked the house so much we’re already booked for next year!

Island vacation

We enjoyed our stay, even though it rained a lot. We took walks, visited the different beaches, the community center, the store and ice cream take out. A friend game is a ride around the lake in his boat. We played horse shoes in the fenced in back yard, and made s’mores over the fire pit. And we rode a ferry to get to and from the Island. We had use of a golf cart but only used it once. The cabin was as described, with lovely amenities. Thank you to our Hosts!

Lovely week on Frye Island

My family and I had a great weeklong stay at this spacious cabin, which was as pictured. Good, quiet location with Beach 5 and the general store within a 10-15min walk. James was a very responsive host. The cabin had pretty much everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but I’d recommend adding the following to the usual packing list: - Toiletries including soap - Laundry detergent and sheets - Extra toilet paper, paper towel/napkins - Nonstick frying pan - Good wine opener The golf cart was not working when we visited, but that didn’t negatively affect our stay. Be warned- Wifi is extremely slow. Frye Island is a wonderful, special place with clean, inviting water and friendly folks! We can’t wait to come back next year!

Great house, extra visitors not fun

Jim’s is the nicest house we have stayed at on Frye, however mice visited the kitchen counters and shelving nightly which was not pleasant. We never had that with other Frye rentals. Locals say the mice are bad this year, but some forewarning would have been good so we could have tightened up our food situation from the beginning. The blackstone grill was covered in mouse poop which was a disappointment, and a daily kitchen disinfection was necessary. Jim was easy to communicate with at first, made sure we got in etc. A day or two later I mentioned the mice to make him aware and received no response. Despite that, we had a great week, and the amenities at the house helped make up for it. The house AC unit and golf cart were excellent additions. WiFi was super fast for remote work, and we really enjoyed the various porches and decks as well as the fenced in yard for our dog. It really is a great house with an excellent location and I would consider staying again.

Frye Island with Family

There were four of us at this property, but there was definitely room for more. The house and location were as tranquil and peaceful as they look in the pictures. The good: location, space, outdoor space, wonderful areas for gathering, hanging out, etc. size was perfect with all the comforts of home. Jim was a dream to work with. The “meh” - there’s no air conditioning, and it was HOT. The house could have been cleaner, and some things need more TLC/attention paid. (I think whoever is managing the property relies on the fact that the owners are not there to check on it.) The kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc. are definitely “vacation house” quality. If you’re cooking for a crowd, you should think about bringing your own supplies. The wifi is just not good. You will not be streaming anything, and zoom meetings are out of the question. Overall, though, our stay was wonderful. We’ve already booked for next year! Frye Island is remote and quiet. This is not where you go for nightlife, but if you’re looking for a reasonably priced stay with a beautiful lake and a chill vibe, you’ve found it. The cabin is 0.3 miles from beach 5, an easy walk and close enough to come back for lunch! Highly recommend.
