Spacious cottage, well located in southern Iceland. The cottage is near Hekla, Landmannalaugar, Þjófafoss, Fossabrekkur, Gjáin, Hjálparfoss, Fjallabakur, and many more famous places. Only 20 min drive from Hella and the main road. In the winter there is a possibility to see the famous northern lights. We're on Google Maps: Search for "Afternoon Cottages".

Cozy cottage surrounded by nice nature. You have almost everything you need in this cottage. It's just like a studio apartment. Well-equipped kitchen with a small fridge, 2 elements ceramic cooktop, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and all the necessary kitchenware. You can use all the coffee and tea you need.

Large bed for two people, 43" TV on the wall to watch Netflix or the local TV station (RÚV). Duvets and duvet covers will be ready along with a sheet on the bed. Two cozy armchairs for chilling. The dining table can be upsized (doubled) if you have friends staying in the other houses to have a meal with you or just chat over a cup of coffee.

Private bathroom with a toilet, shower, and a lovely lighting mirror over a sink. Towels are included. Hand- and bath soap is ready to be used.

Very happy with our stay in this beautiful cottage. Cute and modern too. Great base camp for seeing some of the less popular yet equally beautiful parts of Iceland. Still close enough to see the Golden Triangle sites too.

Cozy cottage tucked away in beautiful, untouched Iceland landscape

This was a wonderful and cozy place to stay as my partner and I made our way down the Southern region of the country. The large windows give great views of the landscape. We hope a few more of these pop up along the Southern region, because we would definitely look to stay again on future trips to Iceland.

Very clean and organized place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The only downside was that it felt a bit chilly, and we couldn’t find any instructions on how to adjust the heating. The property is quite remote, so we strongly recommend using a 4x4 vehicle to avoid getting stuck in a snowstorm, as we nearly did. Despite this, we highly recommend this property—it’s a fantastic place to stay!

Very nice little cabin about 30 minutes north of Hella. Well appointed for a studio. The weather was wicked but it was cozy inside! Plenty of information provided. No issues! I would return!

A perfect retreat amidst nature

Our stay at this charming cottage was an absolute delight! The well-designed space was not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly functional. You could comfortably stay for a long time. The cottage's location is amidst beautiful and tranquil surroundings, drinking coffee in the morning on the porch or by the windows was a special treat. We were able to access waterfalls and national parks for hiking and sightseeing easily. The host's attention to detail and impeccable hospitality were evident throughout our stay.

Wer einen Platz weg von den touristischen Orten und doch nicht so weit weg von der Ringstraße sucht ist hier genau richtig. Ein traumhaft schönes Cottages sauber ausreichend Platz mit allem ausgerüstet was gebraucht wird. Haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Kommen gerne wieder.

Spectacular Northern Lights Show!!!!

The cottage is very clean and comfortable. We were very fortunate to see the Northern Lights. The lights went on for a very long time and were amazing! We stayed at the cottage for 3 nights and highly recommend it. Thank you!

Excellent property!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this awesome property for a quick get away vacation. We could not of asked for anything better! The cottage sets in the countryside just beneath the mountains in a secluded area. Waking up to the sunrise, drinking a cup of coffee in the cozy cottage was all we wanted; and we got just that! Elvar was a great host. Everything was very clean, neat and had everything including pots and pans and dishes upon arrival. Elvar responded very quickly to any questions I had prior to arrival. We could not of asked for a better vacation! The only regret we had is that we didn’t stay longer. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful and comfy stay

We loved our stay, I didn’t receive my email ahead of time with our code to check in so that made our check in process stressful as we were on a time crunch for a vow renewal. He did respond quickly to our call and sent info quick. I should have checked in on that ahead of time. The amenities were great. The bed was comfortable. The windows were great for viewing the northern lights!! I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for hosting us! You should definitely book this cottage to get the best view for the northern lights!
