If you’re searching for a home away from home in Santa Fe that is within walking distance of the Plaza AND enjoys fabulous views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Casa Tórtola (Turtle Dove) is the place for you.

Located just behind Fort Marcy Park and Community Complex, Casa Tórtola is a three-bedroom, two-bath home with wonderful views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from almost every living area. It is a light-filled home, tastefully decorated with high-end furniture and decor incorporating some traditional Santa Fe touches such as the wood-burning Kiva fireplace in the spacious living/dining open space.

The living room has plenty of space for lounging or entertaining guests. Behind it, the dining table comfortably seats six, and directly adjacent is a dedicated TV room with a 60” screen.

If you’re looking forward to an outdoor retreat, there is a large patio off the living room with entertaining space comprised of lounge seating (including a fire pit and BBQ) as well as outdoor dining, and of course majestic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

The kitchen has updated appliances including a gas stove and all kitchen amenities one might need to whip up a treat. Along side the kitchen, a cozy dinette looks out onto the back patio.

Up a partial staircase you’ll find the king master suite complete with its own kiva fireplace (non-working), desk area, and mountain views.

At the other end of the home, also up a few stairs, are the two guest rooms, which share a bath. One has a queen bed, while the other is a twin bedroom with a private walkout deck providing mountain views and views of the City.

An added bonus of Casa Tórtola is that it is just up the hill from the Fort Marcy Park Complex, an excellent place to walk a dog, or take advantage of the exercise complex, Olympic size pool, and classes such as Yoga and Pilates. There are also Pickleball courts.

Amenities include a double garage, washer and dryer, all linens, DirecTV, WIFI, and central air conditioning.

Wonderful

We loved our stay at Casa Tórtola. The location was perfect for our family-close to the park and walking distance to the plaza. The house was great-clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our month long stay.

Dog Friendly and Great Location!

We liked the location. It's a quiet, upscale neighborhood and a great place to take our dog for a beautiful morning walk. We found the home to be well managed and maintained. It is spacious and nice for a multi-generational stay. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean and serviceable but also ready for an update. The main living room is spacious, comfortable and has a nice fireplace with a pretty view. We wished the TV had been set up there rather than the media room for family movies at night but that was just a personal preference.

Wonderful home away from home!

We had the good fortune to experience an extended stay at Casa Tortola. From the moment we walked in, we felt completely at home. The house is beautifully decorated and the view of the Sangres is stunning. Also delightful sunset views from the deck off the guest bedroom. Everything we needed was already provided from kitchen goods to abundant linens to comfortable beds and well arranged conversation areas. Within walking distance of the Plaza and all the great amenities of Ft. Marcy Rec area. The leasing agent and property owner/manager are gems and believe you'll find them extremely helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend Casa Tortola and will be back soon!

Santa Fe Casa Tortola

I stayed at this beautiful home for a month, and will definitely return. The property is situated on a hill with scenic views from windows on all sides. The upstairs balcony was my favorite spot for morning coffee, while the spacious patio was my go-to haven for a glass of wine on cooler evenings. The 3 bedrooms were perfect for my occasional visitors, which included a sister, my kids, and even a few grandkids. The cozy tv room was a perfect place for morning cartoons when the grandkids rose early! The nearby park is lovely and provided a scenic walkway when i was headed to the Plaza for shopping or dinner. But i was often content to cook in the well-equipped kitchen and watch a late afternoon storm blow in...and quickly blow out. Santa Fe is a magical place and i hope to be back next summer!

Perfect rental house

Everything about Casa Tórtola was excellent. The setup with the master bedroom on one side of the house and the other two bedrooms on the other side was helpful. Kitchen is well-equipped (thanks for having a regular coffee maker and a Keurig!). The whole house was clean and nicely decorated. The separate enormous living room and media room made the house feel really spacious. There is a lot of outdoor space for dining and sitting in the back yard as well as seating on the front balcony for watching the sunset. There are thoughtful little touches throughout; my favorites were the motion sensor lights on the stairs and the labels on the lights. Location is close to everything but on a quiet private street. Just a heads up that there is no shampoo, soap, etc., so future guests will need to remember to bring their own. Thanks for a wonderful Thanksgiving week!

Great time in Santa Fe

The house was better than the pics represent. Perfect location. Great kiva. The place was stocked with everything we needed. The outdoor space was so refreshing and warm. The design of the house was also a plus with the bedrooms in two directions off the living/dining room. Even though this place is attached on both sides, the design assures you do not notice it while there. Would definitely rent again.

A Perfect Getaway

Two Words- Oh My!

I have VRBO'd many times in many different cities and a couple of countries and this home was the most accommodating, clean and complete! This house had everything we needed and everything was in working order. Absolutely loved the location, the view's and the decor. I thoroughly enjoyed drinking my cup of coffee and walking around the whole house looking at and admiring the art. My family and I are so glad we chose this home and will definitely rent again!

Exceptional Vacation Home

Casa Tortola has absolutely everything you need to enjoy the wonderful city of Santa Fe. The house is fully stocked with anything you could possibly need, especially in the kitchen that had an adorable breakfast nook. They had staples like spices, olive oil, and even some hot chocolate pods for the Keurig. But don't worry, they also have a coffee pot! When we arrived, Santa Fe was having unseasonably cold weather, and we were there for the first snow of the year. Luckily the kiva fireplace kept us cozy and warm, and the garage kept the car from needing to be brushed off! Out the back patio you have the most beautiful view of the mountains. We utilized the grill and enjoyed the outside heater. The neighborhood is very quiet, so you get peace and quiet both inside and out. We loved that the master bed and bathroom were on one side of the house and that the two other bedrooms and other bathroom were on the other side. It allows everyone to have privacy. We LOVED that the TV was in a separate room from the main living space. It allowed you to enjoy the fireplace and views from out the back patio. The binder of the house rules was very helpful. It gives you information on the house as well as things to do while in Santa Fe. It was a little disappointing to find that the bedroom fireplace doesn't work, but the one in the main living space was more than adequate. We truly loved our time at Casa Tortola, would highly recommend it to anyone, and plan to stay there again for our next trip to Santa Fe!

Comfortable and spacious! Owner provided very helpful info on restaurants and attractions which we took advantage of. The property is in a quiet newer neighborhood on a hill which provided pleasant breezes throughout the home. We had a variety of weather from warm and sunny to wet and windy and even glimpsed a rainbow from the back deck. The only things I would have changed were a more comfortable mattress on the bed in the second bedroom and a chaise lounge on the back porch would have been welcome.

What we've been looking for.

We've been going to Santa Fe for the month of September for the last 18 years. Casa Tortola has everything we want. We're from Arizona and enjoy being able to cook, sit and sip wine outside. This patio is perfect and the master suite is great. We'll be back in 2017.

Casa Tortola

I rented this house for 2 months this summer. My husband and friends enjoyed the house and location very very much. About 5 minutes from everything and the Marcy Park and fitness center is a short walk away. We loved our housekeeper. The owner is wonderful and very accommodating. We have rented it for 2 mos. next summer. View from Patio is spectacular. Nice layout.

Spacious, clean, and comfortable

We stayed in Casa Tortola during the week between Christmas and New Years and chose it partly for its convenience to skiing. We were very impressed with the house. It was spacious and nicely decorated...I loved that there was a beautiful Christmas tree in the family room! It made it feel like "home". Most importantly, it was very clean. The layout of the home is great and my boys loved the TV room. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The property manager is very nice and responsive. I left a few items in a dresser drawer when we left and she sent them back to me, which I really appreciated. We would love to come stay at Casa Tortola again!

Wonderful Family Vacation Home!

We're seasoned travelers from Austin, TX, and want to share what a wonderful vacation/family get together we had staying at Casa Tortola in Santa Fe. Our family including our son and family (2 young grandchildren) and small family dog just loved this property. It is located in the hills above Santa Fe with great views, is within walking distance of the downtown area, and all it offers. More importantly though is the house itself, a very functional family layout...an open floor plan with lots of windows to enjoy the views, a warm fireplace, generous dining area , game & TV rooms plus separate bedroom suite accommodations at opposite ends of La Casa so just right for grandparents on one side, and our son and his family with their privacy on the other. Outside, the patios provide for comfort & great views, And you're within walking distance of a pleasant park just down the hill and/or in an area friendly for some bicycling. During the winter the ski mountain is just 15 miles away, and in the summer clearly convenient to enjoy the Opera and related cultural activities. Marian, the owner. has done a terrific job in making her property warm, comfortable, and don't see how one could be disappointed-- "5 Thumbs Up for Casa Tortola"! KLBAustin
