About this property

The Sea Shanty - on Pittwater - Fishermans Cottage with Jetty and Private Beach

Cute and cosy retro fisherman’s cottage on Scotland Island in beautiful Pittwater. Secluded waterfront retreat with private jetty and beach. Relax, unwind, and enjoy!

The open plan interior features an eclectic mix of nautical antiques, shells and fishing collectables gathered from travels and forages along the beach and original creations by your host Sophie, a classically trained artist.

Ideally suited to a couple, the cottage can expand to accommodate up to six and welcomes children and families or friend groups.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessaries for basic or gourmet cooking.

We love animals and your furry friends are welcome to join you on your holiday.

Kayaks, paddle boards and fishing gear are provided and many other extras can be arranged locally including catering, local tours and boat trips, massages, fishing charters, whale watching etc.

Visit Ku-ring-gai national park with its beautiful nature and wildlife, bush walks and indigenous heritage sites, or let the wildlife come to you - lorikeets, cockatoos, king parrots, currawongs and kookaburras are frequent visitors to the deck.

Rest, relax and reset in a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Escape to paradise!

I'm a long time local (born and raised in Pittwater), and can never be away for long. I love the offshore life, boats, bushwalks, fishing, swimming, sailing, having a glass of wine by the firepit and watching the world go by.
I'm a painter and specialise in portraits, but also exhibit still life, landscapes, and figurative works. I'm an avid reader and love travel. I enjoy sharing this beautiful place and meeting the amazing people who stay at my place.

Why they chose this property

Scotland Island is one of only two residential islands in Sydney. It's a stunning area of natural beauty and we have a wonderful warm, welcoming and vibrant community.

What makes this property unique

The Sea Shanty Cottage is one of the last remaining 1950's fishermans shacks in Pittwater. It is cosy , peaceful and private and feels like an escape from the busy world.
The property faces full north, giving it sunshine year round and incredible views across Pittwater to the national park and up towards Barrenjoey.
The sunsets and sunrises are stunning. There is a deepwater jetty and a beautiful private sandy beach that is perfect for swimming. Lots of friendly wildlife and native birds visit daily.
