About the host
Your host
My husband, Steve, and I grew up In Rochester, NY. We moved to Maine in 1987 shortly after getting married. We raised our 4 children here. They are all grown now. Steve is an engineer (soon to be retired) and I was a stay at home mom turned fitness instructor (specifically CrossFit) but am retired now so I dedicate most of my energy to being a short term rental host. I enjoy meeting new people, specifically travelers. I love to hear their stories and I try to provide a peaceful and relaxing get away.
Steve and I enjoy nature, exercise, building, refinishing and refurbishing things in general. We also love to travel which is why we love hosting travelers because we learn so much from them regarding seeing and experiencing new places all over the globe.
Why they chose this property
This area is all about the outdoors, plants and wildlife. Hanover, Maine and western Maine in general allows visitors a chance to unwind and relax. Getting here and unpacking the car are about as stressful as it gets… but once that’s done you can just settle into an Adirondack chair and take in the beautiful scenery and listen to the frogs, lapping water and, of course, the loons.
What makes this property unique
This seasonal property has so much space to wander alone if that’s your thing but also has cozy spots for the whole family/group to be together and snuggle up. This can be done in the living room with the large sectional sofa or on the front screen porch that is very roomy! The family or group can also settle into the backyard in the Adirondack chairs or at the picnic table for a cozy fire. Forgot the s’more supplies? No problem because we provide that for you! We also have a corn hole set in the shed.
