Great location, plenty of room for the 7 of us plus our dog. We saw dozens of elk, and it was night and quiet. Lots of cooking, board games, laughs and most importantly, fun memories! I see us coming back
We loved staying here while at Cannon Beach. It is located in a quiet area and is a short walk from the north downtown area and the beach. The home was clean and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.
Large home near Ecola Park in Cannon Beach. 10 min walk to get to the beach which was beautiful. House was fully stocked with everything you would need for a great stay. Hosts called to check on us. Great hosts to rent from!
We loved walking to the beach through the quiet neighborhood. The house had everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. A Well stocked kitchen made feeding everyone easy. We will definitely return!
Our stay at this house in Cannon Beach was amazing! It is only a 5 minute walk from the beach, so you can imagine we were there a lot. It was cold, and the water was freezing, but being from Utah, we don’t see the ocean much at all so we took advantage! The house itself was great and accommodated all 9 of my crazy family members. The owners were quick to respond and help with any questions. There were a ton of spiders, alive and dead, that we found around the house but nothing we weren’t able to take care of. Overall, a great stay and very worth it!

Hi Talanoa:
Thanks for your kind review. We are glad that you had an enjoyable time at our Cannon Beach House. And thank you for your note on the spiders. Our family is currently having a reunion at the Beach House and will address this issue.
Perfect time to visit, as the town had mostly cleared out of the summer beach crowd. The property is beautifully located and very serene. The back yard is a nature reserve of some sort and beautiful to look at.
The owners were very responsive, communicative, and kind when we had questions. We'd definitely stay at this property again!
Thank you!
Had a wonderful week with my daughter, over the 4th of July. The entire house is well stocked and the bathroom and kitchen cabinets and drawers were all labeled, which made things very convenient. Had elk visit the front and back yards. Friendly and helpful neigbors. Never heard a single firework. Upstairs is stunning, open and bright, even on foggy, cloudy days. Highly recommend.
This property was awesome--very homey, lots of room for everyone, plenty of bathrooms, nice kitchen...It was quiet and out of the chaos of downtown Cannon Beach. We saw elk walk by on the road, and the bird song in the forest was lovely. It's just a block or two from the estuary and Les Shirley park, so beach access was nearby. The owners were super--really nice and available for questions. Will definitely consider staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The home has a lot of bedrooms and couches for lounging. There are lots of games to play. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinners, desserts, etc. The location was great and was a short walk to the beach and to downtown. We saw elk almost everyday. My only recommendation would be a deep clean through the entire house.

Our family had a wonderful stay! Joe and Jan were wonderful from start to finish. Quick to respond and always kind. The home was very nice. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my mother who is in a wheelchair. Plenty of room and very open. It is close to the beach and a short drive up the road to Ecola State Park. Cannon Beach is wonderful with many decent restaurants and shops in the area. The neighbors on both sides of the home were also very kind and considerate. We would definitely return to this wonderful rental.
This is a great spot in Cannon Beach at a reasonable price. You are able to walk to Ecola State Park in about 30-45 minutes which is a huge bonus. The beach at Les Shirley park is a short 5 minute walk and you can make it to downtown Cannon Beach in about 10 minutes. The house was as described and was loaded with fun board games that we really enjoyed. If we ever head back to Cannon Beach we will definitely stay here again. On a final note I will say that the house does need a good deep cleaning. The surface level areas are all clean but some of the lesser traveled areas need a good cleaning. Overall, great stay.

A little disappointed
First i want to say i loved the location, the size of the house, and the owners. After our stay, i spoke to the owners and explained the conditions we found. Wanting to leave a clear review. It is always important to me not to tear down but the house was not clean and needed fresh update. They made me feel comfortable that thing would be much improved. Nothing a fresh coat of paint and some updating of old wall hanging and musty carpets ect will make this home a place everyone will want to stay in again and again!
Overall, the property is fine--quiet, nice neighbors. It is close to a mile walk to get to the middle of town. The final lonnng block is an uphill climb to the beach. A little dangerous (no sidewalk in front of the property) to get to the side street that will get you to the beach--cars are driving way too fast on the road. A lot of games to play, plenty of sofas, table seating and comfortable for large groups. Enough beds for 10 people as advertised and it is very pet-friendly. As previously mentioned, the property could use a little maintenance and a deep cleaning. The downstairs bedroom is a converted garage--very comfortable and well-insulated (though we were there over the 4th of July so do not know about the fall/winter months). The daily fee reflects the location and condition of the property. Owners very responsive to questions and inquiries.
This house has the feel of a classic "going home to grandmas house" kind of place. There is a piano, plenty of comfy seating, three tvs, lots of board games, comfy beds with extra blankets, plush towels, laundry room with modern washer and dryer, full kitchen with lots of things you need to prepare meals and serve them. The location is convenient walking distance to the beach and downtown. It boasts views of the surrounding forest and has a gas fireplace. There are two main seating areas with a couple of bonus areas where different groups can converse or watch a show. This property, although comfortable and clean enough, is not decorated in a modern aesthetic. It feels more like a classic inn from the 80s or 90s with some charming antique furniture pieces mixed with comfy couches (not antique), some pretty floral wallpaper accents and coastal decor touches. The queen beds are on the softer side, while a couple of the twins are on the firmer side. The host was quick to return our calls and very kind. Although she was attentive when we called, she left us to enjoy our stay otherwise.
We were comfortable staying at this vacation home. It was within easy walking distance to the beach, local shops and restaurants. The house itself was spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
The only reasons we're giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that, although the surfaces in the space were clean, we found that there were multiple locations of dust bunnies which occasionally wafted out from under the furniture. Also, the switch located in the hallway for the kitchen light fixture crackled when we turned it on, so we just left it off fearing it might spark into something worse.
Additionally, it would be helpful to let guests know ahead of time that they have to take their shoes off at the door, so they can pack accordingly. We would have brought slippers or house shoes with us had we known. The floors were cold and so were my stockinged feet.
Despite these minor issues, we enjoyed our time here. The hosts left notes around the house so we knew where to turn should there be issues. Fortunately, we had no such issues!

Thanks Sharon for your comments. We will look into the kitchen switch question and take appropriate action. We will remove the plaque referring to shoe removal as we don't think that this is necessary. And we have discussed the issue of the dust from under the furniture with our cleaning person. Again, thanks for your comments.

Needs some attention
The house is functional but stuck in the 80's. First of all there re 2 showers. My guess is the shower heads are original and they do not work very well anymore. If you like water just pouring out on you, then these would be great for you, but spending $20 on new shower heads would be nice.
We stayed for thanksgiving and had planned on cooking food at the house. As we were preparing our meal we realized that the oven did not work properly. It seems that the lower element is out and one of the burners on the stove does not work. Not sure if the property owners know this, but the range needs to be replaced. Rooms are set up kinda of random and the furniture is old. I think this home is overpriced for what you get

We appreciate the response of our guest. We were unaware of the issue involving our stove and will take measures to have this resolved immediately, either through repair or replacement. A month ago we previously purchased new shower heads in anticipation of installing them in January, '24 when we will be at Cannon Beach.
We also have updated some of the furnishings and decor as of February 2024.
