Quiet Lakefront Cabin with Private Fire Pit, Beach and Dock

**Please note that Secord Lake has its water level reduced so that the State of Michigan can fix Secord Dam. By renting this cabin, you are doing so knowing that the water level near this rental does not currently allow for boating or swimming. This note will be removed when the water level returns to normal in 2026.**

This two-bedroom lakeside cabin is the perfect vacation getaway for friends, a couple, or a family. Sitting on 1.38 acres of Pure Michigan paradise, this home offers peace and relaxation to guests along with many modern day amenities.

Amenities in this cabin include central heating, a fully equipped kitchen, a flat screen TV and DVD player, and a washer and dryer. This is a remote vacation home. There is no Wi-Fi or cable television available.

The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed that sleeps two and the second bedroom has a bunk bed that sleeps two. The top bunk has a twin-sized mattress and the bottom bunk has a full-sized mattress. A pull-out couch in the main living area, where the TV is located, also sleeps two.

Are you looking for memorable nights with friends or family? Make use of our large fire pit overlooking the water. This home also offers a private dock for swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and a beautiful sandy beach overlooking Secord Lake.

Downtown West Branch, where you can shop, bar hop, grab a bite to eat or catch a movie, is just 15 minutes away by car. The area also offers nearby access to hundreds of acres of state land for hiking, nature study, ATV adventures, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, fishing, and much more.

The cabin is very cozy, and great for a weekend getaway. Once the lake is back, I’m sure it’ll be even better. We were there on some of the hottest days of the year so far, and despite that the cabin remained fairly comfortable. Would recommend bringing additional fans though, if it’s expected to be really warm.

Thr property was not mowed no ac no water in lake at all fire pit full of ashes no local TV to watch deck was full of pine niddles chair was full of bird poop

Hi Andy, a few points in your review are worth clarifying for future guests. The lake’s water level is a known, temporary condition as the state and local authorities work to repair the dams. Our listing specifically discloses that the water level is currently low and is expected to return in the near future. We also do not advertise cable or local television, as this is an up-north cabin and the amenities are clearly outlined in the listing. We intentionally keep the cabin focused on the traditional up-north experience rather than having it outfitted with internet and cable. That said, the concerns about the mowing and bird droppings are fair, and I’ll try to do a better job addressing those between guests. I’ll also do what I can about the pine needles on the deck, though it’s worth noting the cabin sits on 1.4 acres and is surrounded entirely by pine trees, so pine needles are an inherent part of the up north setting. I appreciate the feedback and will use it to make sure the property is presented at the standard our guests and my own family should expect. ~ Bobby
