Great for a group
We had a great week in chalet snowden. The location is great for access to slopes, ski hire and supermarket. A bit limited in terms of bars and restaurants, but nice pizza place round the corner. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the big table for dining and games. Sauna, table football and video game table were all very popular

Lovely property but busses into town aren't great. (Last one is 17:45
Property was lovely and very close to the piste, only 100m down or up the road. The piste is a very easy blue so everyone can ski down to the Bettex lift regardless of ability. We had some problems with the sauna. We were warned if you put too much water on the rocks the sauna electrics will trip but too much water turned out to be any more than a drop. Bit of a shame. Unfortunately the free bus service to this part of Les Menuires isn't great. The last bus from the centre of town back to the chalet is at 17:45. This means if you want to go out for dinner or to a bar in the evening you will have to walk back. The walk back isn't too long, it is 1.7km about 25 minutes if you follow the road. There is a slight shortcut but it involves a lot of steps and is quite dark- not great for children or adults that have had a drink... The supermarket up the road is better and a little cheaper than the Sherpa in Les Croisette. Mike was really helpful during the booking and answered all the questions I had about the area. He has provided a map of the resort highlighting close shops, restaurants etc and the route to the piste. We were even given a box of celebrations in our welcome pack. Beds were comfy although pillows were VERY thin, rooms were warm and all the bathrooms were spotless. The lack of busses is something to consider if you plan to visit restaurants or bars but the actual chalet is a really lovely place the only problems we had were with the Sauna. Would be great for children as well as there are a lot of games and DVD etc. Worth mentioning the busses don't run properly on Saturday's. You have to call the bus station and 'reserve' a bus or they won't run. We didn't realise this and had to walk the 1.5 km with our bags! Check out is at 10am so if you don't drive and have a transfer try and make sure they pick you up by 10 or you will have to make your way to croisette with your bags Saturday morning.

Great summer holiday in Chalet Snowdon Rachel G
We have just come back from a fabulous holiday in Chalet Snowdon in Les Menuires. We loved the accommodation and location. The chalet was perfect for our party. We had a few families with young children and it was very child friendly with highchairs and travel cots provided - even down to the cot sheets. The owner Mike, went out of his way to answer all our questions and was most helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for a truly amazing service. The children loved going on the cable cars and ski lifts and we did some great walks up in the mountains. We cant wait to come back again!

Well organized and comfortable to receive several couples and their infants.
For french people who appreciate to eat well in particular during christmas there miss some devices for cooking, for example something to dry salad or large plates to prepare big cakes... Nevertheless the basic is there to spend marvelous holidays with my big family

Spacious, comfortable and in a beautiful spot.
This is the second time we have stayed in Chalet Snowdon at this time of year and enjoyed it just as much. As a party of 11 people, consisting of 3 children (aged 4, 8 and 11) and 8 adults, we found Chalet Snowdon accommodated us very comfortably. Real assets were the number of good bathrooms and the great dining area , where we all ate for the majority of evenings. The children ( and big kids) would probably add the table football , electronic games and board games. The weather was beautiful for walking , which, surprisingly the children loved and walked for miles. Favourite walks being to the lake and up the mountain to the restaurant Chalet De La Masse for lunch....we ventured up there several times, the steeper way taking about 35 minutes from the chalet and the longer walk on the path, taking about 45 minutes. We also drove to a nearby lake for the day, about an hour away in Bozel. This had activities for children, swimming areas and a bar/restaurant........an enjoyable day out. It was extremely useful to have two supermarkets within 15 minutes walking distance and they provided all that we needed.....although we also drove once, to the big supermarket 30 minutes away.. Great too, to have restaurants within the same walking distance...would recommend La Haut, Le Bistrot Des Cimes, as well as the Chalet De La Masse. Unfortunately the pizza restaurant, a few minutes walk away, was closed for July this year.....it was very handy last year for quick snacks, or a drink, and also owned 2 goats, which wandered around nearby ....we missed seeing them this time. I would certainly recommend Chalet Snowdon for all age groups , and hope to return there again......it would be lovely to see it in the snow and it must be an absolute joy for skiers, being in such a fantastic area.

Great week at Chalet Snowdon !
Despite the mitigated weather, we had a wonderful week at Chalet Snowdon. The chalet is well equipped and very comfortable, with 5 rooms (out of 6) having a private bathroom. Rooms are not so big (especially those of the ground floor), with little space to put all stuffs. Very nice kitchen and table big enough for 13 guests. The chalet is relatively easily accessible for the people skiing. For the others, shops and restaurants of Les Ménuires "downtown" are at circa 10/15' walking distance from the Chalet. Definitively an address to recommend !

Great stay and fantastic house
We stayed at Chalet Snowdon the first week of the year (January 2th 2016). This is the 3rd time that we are going to the Chalet. It’s just fantastic. We went skiing to the slopes from the house, boot drier and sauna. Slopes are awesome. The house is great for a group of 12 as us, with nearly all bedrooms en-suite. We are 3 families and we all (children and adults) enjoy our stay there. Big sitting room and dining room and this year new arcade machine (fabulous). The housekeeper, Kirsten, is also very nice and helpful. She helped us a lot with anything we need. Nice place to spend winter holidays. Highly recommended.

Chalet Snowdon April 2014
The chalet is beautiful - spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped. The living area on the first floor is ideal for a large group, or 2-3 families. There are plenty of bedrooms and almost each one has its own en suite (fitted superbly)It was warm, cosy with lovely mountain views. We took our car. so access to free parking adjacent to the ski lifts was possible, making it easy to make the most of the fabulous and huge 3 valley ski region. It was clean and the chalet manager was friendly and helpful. I would recommend very highly and would love to return.

Fantastic Holiday
We stayed in Chalet Snowdon in early Dec 2012 after a huge dump of snow. I think it was the first week the resort was open and there was no-one around. It was the first time the powder wasn't tracked out at the end of the first day. The chalet was superb. We didn't have any kids with us, but we still used the wii and table football every night. We ate in most nights and the kitchen was modern and well equipped. The location was great, less than 5 mins walk to the piste and (when we went the right way) we could easily get to our 9am lessons. Would highly recommend the chalet, very well appointed. Thanks.

Great chalet and fantastic snow
Ok I will caveat my review by saying that we had fantastic snow. It was so good that we could ski down a steep bank in front of the chalet to get to the piste and avoid the walk altogether. Obviously when the snow was so good it does make any review better, had it been lashing down with rain and we sat in playing cards, we would have probably more negative points. But starting with the negatives, we had 14 adults and the chalet was a bit of a squeeze particularly in the evening when we were all in the lounge area. The agent said that the owner was planning to take out a bedroom to make the lounge area bigger and that would certainly make a big difference. The bedrooms are small too, but the storage was good and they were nearly all en-suite. So the positives. The location was good, we had some beginners and they got the navette (small minibus) from just across the road to the town centre for their ski lessons. We didn't take it at all and just skied to and from the chalet. The ski area was phenomenal, within a couple of lifts we were skiing down to Meribel or Val Thorens. Didn't get over to Courcheval, just too much to do. The kitchen is modern, although cooking for 14 was interesting, a woman can only take so much spag bol. We ate out half the time and had takeaway pizza from just up the road, so much easier. Plenty to do in the chalet, it had a DVD player with loads of DVDs and a Wii and some board games. Les Menuires centre is ahem an architectural eyesore, but the area where the chalet is definitely a lot prettier. We had hire cars and there was loads of parking so that wasn't a problem. So would I go back, defintiely, but not in a group of 14.

Grew up in Wales near Snowdonia. Hence the name for the chalet. Now live in London, but wish I was in the mountains.

Why they chose this property

I loved the location, so near the piste and large enough to have everyone around. Also it was a bit of a wreck when I bought it and I have enjoyed turning it into something special.
