Outdoor La Jolla Living At Its Finest!!

Kayadon 1 is considered a well-equipped 1-1/2 bedroom, 1 bath unique beach cottage utilizing an open concept design. What is a half bedroom, you ask? The expanded living area can be sectioned off with a gliding wall for privacy to make a half bedroom with full-sized memory-foam murphy bed and closet. The kitchen includes all new stainless steel appliances and windows that open to create an indoor/outdoor dining area, seating up to six people. Serve up your family and friends, just like a local beach bar. The large out door living area has plenty of comfortable seating for people watching and enjoying the cool ocean breeze. For the evening, the fire pit and overhead market lights provide warmth and ambiance. The cottage is on La Jolla Blvd. which is active during the day, but quiets down at night. If you are a person who is an EXTREMELY light sleeper, we provide sound machines for each bedroom. Kayadon 1 can sleep 4 in beds depending on the closeness of your group with one queen and a full. Keep in mind, it will be cozy! The cottage is equipped with both washer and dryer as well as central air conditioning making your stay comfortable, no matter what the weather!

This place has everything I was looking for: a Firm Mattress, good internet, clean and well-maintained, good water pressure with plenty of hot water, and a great neighborhood. I was traveling for work, and plan to be back in the area frequently. I will rebook here whenever I find it available.

Relaxing getaway

La Jolla was a great getaway. The weather was perfect, so much to do and good places to eat. This property was the perfect place to stay to enjoy it all. I am already planning on booking my next stay!

We loved our stay here. Great little cottage close to the beach and need a few restaurants. Comfy beds and nice kitchen fully stocked with all cooking items. Second room had a murphy bed and can slide dining room table out to the way. We loved that the place came with parking in the driveway as well as beach stuff like towels,chairs and umbrellas! Would recommend for a couple getaway or small family.

Wonderful family-friendly stay!

This cottage is an excellent place to explore the sights of San Diego and the beautiful beaches of La Jolla. Fun restaurants, shops, and coffee spots are within walking distance, and the owners are very communicative. I highly recommend it!

Overall, our stay was disappointing. The good: convenient location close to beach, shopping and restaurants. Pretty area.The not so good: The seat cushions of the outdoor furniture were not clean. The grill was not clean and appeared to be in disrepair. The bedroom TV did not work.

Very clean, walkable to ocean, Bird Rock, and downtown La Jolla

My mom, 9 year old daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend. It was small but with good use of the space. Yard was fenced in, well-manicured, and patio furniture clean to use outdoor space comfortably.

Fabulous!!!!!

Hosts were very very welcoming. Check- in was very easy. This property is very high end everything was tasteful all of the kitchen appliances and laundry facilities were wonderful, we lacked for nothing. We loved the yard, the pup loved the secure yard and met many neighbors and their dogs. I neighborhood was wonderful and everyone we talked to were friendly and proud of their community.Bottom line is we will be returning for many more vacations. Sorry no pictures, we just don’t take a lot of photos.

Great stay, nice property, huge patio area, a few blocks from the beach. Around a 15 minute walk to downtown La Jolla. Would come back. A small problem arose and it was resolved extremely well, we were impressed. It’s on one of the main roads through La Jolla, so there is traffic out front, but if you like to keep the windows open, the owner provided noise machines-which worked great for us. Secondary pull out bed worked super well for our third guest. Private laundry is super handy. Kitchen is beautiful. Love the indoor/outdoor interface set up, which is what I love about coastal Southern California so it was great to be able to enjoy it fully. It has all you need in an ideal location! And, communication with the owner and manager when needed was stellar. I’m impressed.

Perfect for our short getaway. Everything we needed, down to the sound machine! Short walk to the beach and the sunsets magnificent! Cottage was clean and well equipped. Found several great breakfast spots nearby.

Cute cottage in a great location

My family and I loved staying in this sweet cottage. It’s centrally located with easy access to lots of great places in San Diego and La Jolla, including the beach just a short walk away. The cottage had everything we needed and was sparkling clean. Communication was great too! We’ll be back!

I am so happy to offer my wonderful property to singles, couples and families! After my husband lost a 5 year battle to cancer, I decided to move from Louisville, KY back to sunny Southern California where I was raised. I bought the Kayadon cottages with a vision to provide an upbeat beachy vibe to vacationers who like to be in the thick of it all! So, I took all my energy and oversaw every detail. I wanted the cottages to be somewhere I would stay. My husband and I have traveled the world and I know what it takes to be comfortable. But honestly, you can't get it all perfect. So, let me share with you the things you should know to make your stay memorable. Where to eat, how to cut down on street noise, the best way to get to the beach, what hours you can take your pet to the beach off leash, etc. I'll share what I know and you can educate me as you learn fun facts, too!

Why they chose this property

You are truly at a beach bungalow. Hop on your bikes to take a cruise around the neighborhood or to the beach, village or nearby restaurant. The Cottages are well equipped with plenty of movies, games and books. Relax inside or watch the people and the cars go by while sitting on the front porch. It's fun to strike up a conversation with a local as there is plenty of foot traffic heading to the beach. If you're looking for a secluded location, this is not the place for you!

What makes this property unique

The Kayadon Cottages are small and cozy but efficient with every nook and cranny utilized. The front yard is large and faces La Jolla Blvd. giving guests easy access to everything San Diego has to offer. The house is equipped with all modern amenities and was just newly renovated in 2015.
