The house was incredible in so many ways. More space than we needed, well equipped kitchen and a choice of lovely terraces. The decor is beautiful and the curated pieces of art and ceramics make it feel like a beautiful home. The living areas are comfy and charming. The stairs are a deathtrap but to be expected in a house if this age and location. The air con was a relief, shame it wasn't in all bedrooms (we slept in the living room). The pool was a lovely bonus too.It would have been useful to know ahead of time that it was the Feria. This not only meant that parking was practically impossible, but that many restaurants didn't open at all or at least as often. This made things harder than they needed to be. The people we met were very friendly, but don't expect little shops to browse in, that's not a thing. The views are breathtaking. Just breathtaking. We had a terrible time with our hire car(s) and given the location make sure you have a reliable hire car!

Chris - thank you for your positive review. The bedroom without air con is at the front of the house is usually very cool even during the hot summer months. Given you were a party of 4 it is a shame you decided it was necessary to sleep in the living room given the 2 other bedrooms have air con. Regarding the Feira there is a great Gaucin website that details all the up and coming festivals.

Beautiful location, lovely house.

Really relaxing stay in the mountains. The house was really quirky which we all loved & the small pool was perfect in the height of summer. The views from the property are breathtaking. It’s situated in a beautiful white washed town with several cafes / restaurants. Initial issue with access but was quickly resolved by the owner ( who hadn’t been aware of our booking). Esther, the local manager went out of her way to quickly clean the property so we could stay. Overall a fantastic stay & would love to revisit

Vue magnifique! / Fantastic view

The house is amazing; huge, clean, well-equiped and the view is speechless. The owner is available to answer any questions as well as Esther who is in the village to welcome you and answer any other questions you may have. If you are looking for a quiet village, this is perfect. We did a few trails which all started iin the village. You can also find a few grocery stores. Since it was early in January, not all restaurants were open. We arrived by train and took a taxi from the train station located in El Colmera (no train station in Gaucin)). The only taxi drive, Javier, is fantastic!! We had a great time!!

Rustic, traditional town house

June 2025 - Family of 5, aged 29 to 70, stayed for a week in this lovely house. As a typical mountain town house, it’s spread over 5 levels from the pool on the bottom to a little balcony on the top, so if you have knee pain or young children, you might find the stairs a problem, however, overall, it was clean and comfortable and blissfully quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms nicely furnished. Car parking is hit and miss at the closest spot which is about 100 metres away and the next available place is about 10/15 minutes walk away - you will however, be able to stop at the house to drop off and pick up your luggage. Driving through the village is not for the faint hearted but all the shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance of the house. We, as a family of able bodied adults, recommend this house.

Stunning home in a beautiful location

We instantly fell in love with this beautiful home and the stunning village of Gaucin. The house has everything you could possibly need, and is so incredibly spacious. We had a terrace each! My favourite part of the day was reading my book with a cup of tea, before the hubby and kids got up, on the terrace off the main lounge, looking at the stunning views. Bliss. We opted to have the pool heated - it was just a little bit chilly for us. This was no problem for Esther, the lovely property manager who looked after us from day one. There was a problem with the pool pump not working - again, great communication with Esther and the problem was fixed the very next morning. The house is incredibly well located, right in the middle of this stunning "white village", a few minutes' walk from all the restaurants, supermarkets and sights of Gaucin. We were lucky enough to go during their fiesta, and there was live music in the square every night. We also ventured up to the castle - a fairly easy uphill hike, but best to avoid doing in the heat of the day. The house is old and quirky, which we loved. Probably not so good for very young children or those of reduced mobility. The stairs down to the kitchen and garden area are exceptionally steep, and I took a tumble (sober, I might add!). We loved staying here, and really hope to come again one day. Thank you to Andrew and Sally for sharing your home with us. Highly, highly recommended.

My Wife and I bought the property in 2006 after a family holiday in Andalucia where
we stayed on the coast for a week and a week in a Finca on the outskirts of Gaucin. We fell in love with Gaucin and the wonderful surrounding countryside.
We are English but have lived in North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland for the last 23 years. We also have holiday let properties in North Berwick and Glen Lyon, Perthshire in Scotland.
I am a self employed chartered surveyor specialising in commercial property investment and development. Sally, my Wife qualified many years ago as interior designer and has a love of art, crafts and design. We have 2 grown up Sons, Ted and Tom who have loved holidaying in Gaucin over the years.
We try and get out to Gaucin at least 3-4 times a year and for the rest of the time we welcome visitors to our lovely Townhouse in the centre of a gorgeous 'White Village', many of which are repeat guests.

Why they chose this property

Our lovely well appointed townhouse has everything you will require to enjoy your holiday in a gorgeous Andalucian White Village. It is also located in a quiet part of the village with plenty of on-street parking, close to the Castle and within a 5 minutes walk of all the main restaurants and tapas bars.
