Outstanding
Idyllic holiday cottage with gorgeous views. We loved everything about The Cowshed - the peace and quiet, the comfy sun room, the amazing shower, the beautiful flowers, delicious shortbread and juicy plums fresh from the orchard. Brian and Gill are the perfect hosts and work really hard to make sure everything is immaculate. Lots of great places to visit within easy reach. Thank you for a really special week.

Luxurious, spacious & in excellent location.
The Cowshed is beautifully laid out and feels very spacious for two. It's kitted out to a very high spec with everything you could ever need. The bedroom, living area, bathroom and kitchen are luxurious and comfortable but the sun room was a real standout for us: we spent many hours just watching the stunning view towards Ludlow change with the weather. There's loads to do and see in the surrounding area which is great for walking and (challenging & hilly) cycling. Last of all, Brian and Gill were lovely hosts. They welcomed us with generous gifts of wine, home-baked shortbread and fruit and were always on hand for advice and tips about the local area. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay. All the best, Liz and Mike

What a Find!
Hmmm...not sure we should tell you how amazing The Cowshed is!! Where to start...gorgeous views, peaceful surroundings and probably one of the most comfortable places we have stayed. Everything has been thought of in this accommodation....we literally had no complaints whatsoever. Brian and Gill were really welcoming too. In fact...we booked again as soon as we got back today! So...in short...book it...you won’t be disappointed....mind you...leave room for us!

2 weeks away from it all
We had a very relaxing 2 weeks in the Cowshed. Everything we needed was available and Brian and Gill were the perfect hosts making sure that we were very comfortable. Brian even offered us a late check out so that we could watch the Rugby world cup match against New Zealand. We have stayed at many properties over the years but the Cowshed must rank up there with the best.

A perfect hideaway
We loved The Cowshed. Perfect hosts, there if needed but totally respected your privacy. And lovely to chat to when you did bump in to them. We had some rainy days which didn't matter at all as the sun room was perfect to sit and read in and the bed was ridiculously comfy. Sunny days meant barbecues whilst enjoying the incredible view and sunsets whilst watching the birds. We will be returning soon!

Excellent property for peace and quiet
We have just had a lovely stay at the cowshed for a week. It rained every day but we visited some fantastic Shropshire castles. The Cowshed was immaculate and had every amenity we could possibly want. Thank you Gill and Bryan for your hospitality.

Perfection
Peace, quiet, beautiful spotlessly clean property, situated on the side of the Clee Hills with a spectacular view. If that was not enough, the hosts were brilliant. They had thought of everything, even down to the bottle of wine, home made shortbread (in the shape of a cow) and there was also a bottle of milk in the fridge. Sorm blowing outside with trees blocking the roads, but we were warm and snug in this fantastically well equiped cottage. I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.

A peaceful, relaxing stay at the Cow Shed. Really lovely
When we arrived at the Cow Shed, we had a very nice greeting from the Shacklocks, who made us feel very welcome. The cottage was clean and tidy and the interior impressive, the bed was very comfortable and we loved the place! In addition to the cottage itself, the surrounding countryside is peaceful and beautiful with a great view. The cottage is a short drive from Ludlow, and we made the most of our time here with trips to Stokesay Castle, Ludlow Castle and restaurants and much more! We'd love to come back again in the future. Many thanks again for your hospitality and professionalism. Would definitely recommend to others.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location
The Cow Shed is a delightful place and Brian & Gill are delightful and very thoughtful hosts. The cottage feels lovely, partly because the conversion has been done to the highest standards, using traditional, natural materials (mostly oak), and partly because the fittings and equipment are just what you'd choose for yourself. Everything is provided for, nothing is overlooked and, whether inside or out, everything is just right - even the sunshine! This was our second visit and there will be more.

A perfect place to relax and chill.
It was perfect. The accommodation, setting, facilities and décor was excellent. We were greeted by Brian and Gill who showed us around and had a lovely welcome package of milk, fruit, wine and 2 homemade shortcake biscuits in the shape of cows, delicious. Everything we needed was there as were full instructions (which is an added bonus). Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean and the layout of the interior is just perfect. The sunroom is the place to watch for birds and rabbits plus we saw buzzards flying overhead or sitting up on the pylon looking down for its prey. We had a super relaxing time and completely recharged our batteries. The facilities are second to none and the shower is fantastic. Brian and Gill were there if we had a question otherwise they left us alone. We visited the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct; amazing, and had afternoon tea after visiting Ludlow Castle The market in Ludlow is different most days and we bought some marmite flavoured cheese! Love it! The weather was typically British; showers and sun, but it didn't spoil things for us. Would we go again? You bet we would.

Spacious, well equipped cottage great views
The first thing to say is that we stay in cottages two or three times year around the UK and this is without question the finest we have stayed. We stayed late summer in this cottage set on the hillside with views over to Ludlow and beyond. It is very clean and well equipped and the cottage itself is large and built with beautiful materials including high oak beam ceilings. There is even a sun room from which to watch the sunset (and snooze in the afternoon!). Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. If was our first visit to Shropshire and we found so much to see and do that we will return next year. Ludlow is a real hidden gem, great shops, restaurants and pubs - and contains the Ludlow Brewery which offers an excellent tour. It also contains a fantastic modern cinema with a bar where we watch Jason Bourne one afternoon then went out to dinner. We walked a lot and also visited Ironbridge for day - wish we'd had more time to visit all the museums...and do try the local pork pies. We saw the Flying Scotsman running on the Severn Valley Railway, and taking a steam train on this railway would be a great way to see the area.

Just lovely
We found the Cowshed at the last minute and I am so glad we did. We have stayed in many cottages and this must be the best. It was so comfortable, clean and of a very high standard. It had everything you could possible need for a holiday in it and I just didn't want to go home. The views are wonderful over towards Ludlow and I can think of nothing better than sitting reading a book in the sun room over looking the countryside. We also saw a weasel, pheasant, robin and an owl in our short stay. The local area is lovely for walking and Ludlow for exploring too. You can walk to the nearest pub but it is about a 30 min walk. Brian even offered to pick us up which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated as I have a bad foot. We only went once as we preferred to stay in for the evenings and make the most of the lovely Cowshed while we were there, reading, drinking wine, chatting and playing Scrabble. Brian and Gill were lovely hosts, and it was so nice to meet them and stop for a chat and a glass of wine. They really have thought of everything and the Cowshed is a top class holiday home. The wine, cow shaped shortbreads, milk and fruit were very welcome too. I would highly recommend a holiday here to anybody and know that I'll be going back.

IF CARLSBERG DID COWSHEDS!!
A superb week in Shropshire thanks to Brian and Jill in what only be described as the best accommodation we have ever stayed in, (we have been to a few!) The Cowshed is kept in mint condition as if new, and has all you would need for a fantastic stay, the views are truly amazing and very peacefull. A great base to tour the Shropshire hills and towns, with ludlow 4.5 miles away.Highly recommended, Dave and Diane Dillon-White

Brilliant accommodation!
The location is brilliant with wonderful views. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and has been renovated to a very high standard with good quality furniture and fittings. Fantastic cleanliness. There is everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The sunroom is a bonus.Gill and Brian have provided an abundance of information on the local area, places to visit, eat etc. All the work has been done for you! The welcome pack of wine, shortbread, fresh fruit and flowers was a lovely touch. Despite the terrible weather we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as it's such a lovely place to relax.

Really felt at home
This place was just perfect. The first place we have stayed in where we felt just as happy staying in as going out. We are usually up and out when we stay away from home, but here we were quite happy to sit and relax in the sunroom. It was so clean and tidy we could easily have believed we were the first ever visitors. Our hosts had thought of everything, including the all-important teapot! We were treated to flowers, wine, fruit and home-made biscuits. There is a seat at the top of the hill which we used for coffee moments. The view from the sunroom was lovely, and our hosts even put bird feeders up for us to watch the birds, as if the view wasn't enough. We found the walks in the area meant that we could just leave the car here. We only used the car twice, once to get supplies from Tesco, and once to visit a friend. Ludlow is an easy walk, as is Titterstone Clee Hill which we walked up three times. The information folders Gill and Brian provided were really useful. Our bed at home is the comfiest in the world, and this one matched ours, so we had a good night's sleep every night. We were up for a couple of hours on lunar eclipse night, and the sky was perfect for stargazing, dark and clear, the nearest artificial lighting was Ludlow. Overall the perfect place for relaxing, walking, mooching, reading and chilling out. Not sure if we should submit this review as it may mean we can't get booked in the future, but hey-ho, let's take a chance.
