Lovely property in a super peaceful village, there was everything we needed to have a quiet break. Totally recommend a walk down the river which is 5 mins away. The local pub is great too. We would stay again in a heartbeat
A beautiful cosy holiday home equipped thoughtfully with everything we needed. Elaine was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. A lovely location for a tranquil break with close proximity to beautiful coastal destinations.

Beautiful quaint accommodation. The host, Elaine, was so helpful and lovely. My husband and I had a wonderful time away. Knowing our dog could enjoy the safe enclosed garden meant a very relaxing weekend for us. Will definitely be back! Thank you Elaine for being a wonderful host!
Wonderful stay - beautiful scenery , Elaine is wonderful , the public footpath lead to the river banks with fantastic views and scenery which our 2 boys loved - accommodation is well equipped. We will be back 100%
We loved our stay. The cottage had everything we needed. It’s in a nice countryside with a nice community, friendly people and a great pub nearby called “The Golden Lion”. Lots to do in the area and a nice landlady.
Absolutely gorgeous cottage in Idyllic village. Lovely walks along river Otter from doorstep. Close drive ( few miles ) to lovely places like Exeter, Exmouth, Sidmouth ( my favourite). Excellent host - Elaine.
We stayed for 5 nights with our Labrador! Elaine was the perfect host and her barn was enchanting! The barn was walking distance from the beautiful River Ott and the pub ! It is compact but furnished to a high standard with an outstanding balcony and enclosed garden ! Thank you Elaine !
A delightful property; compact but with everything we needed, including a view over the garden and surrounding countryside. Secluded and very peaceful. The balcony in the morning sun was wonderful.
We had a great trip staying at the cottage, it was beautiful and had everything we could have possibly needed for our trip to Devon. We will definitely be booking to come and stay again. The balcony is a real treat, overlooking the large garden and farmland. Perfect for our dog who enjoyed roaming around the secure garden.
Great location for a quiet break. A farm shop 4 mins down the road selling a whole range of products. Lovely walk to Tipton St John. Ottery St Mary is only 2 miles away. Lots of dog friendly pubs to choose from.
Beautiful holiday home. Photos can’t capture how pretty this is. We loved our weeks stay here. The cottage is well equipped, spotless clean and perfect for walks in different directions without having to move your car. We definitely will be returning
We loved our stay in the little barn. Elaine is a very friendly host and the house was absolutely lovely, perfectly clean and felt very comfortable. We stayed here for a fortnite with our two small dogs. They loved the garden, and we did too!
All the other guest reviews are absolutely true! Would very much recommend!!
Such a perfect place , comfy and clean.
Lovely garden which my dog loved and I was pleased as it was totally safe for him. Stunning walks on your doorstep.
Our host was a lovely lady and we can’t wait to rebook again.
The barn was perfect for us, right from the start Elaine was amazing… from her directions to her perfect scones . Everything you needed was included, fantastic shower, selection of books and dvds. Sitting on the veranda was pure heaven, watching the birds feed from the feeders and talking to Dave the sheep next door. We arrived a stressed, tired and exhausted couple and left totally relaxed and happy.

About the host
Hosted by Elaine Paget
I retired several years ago and enjoy welcoming guests and their dogs to this beautiful part of Devon.
Why they chose this property
We have lived here since 1980 and it is perfect for a rural lifestyle with varied walks such as along the nearby river Otter, over the cliffs on the Jurassic coast just 5 miles away and further afield, areas such as Exmoor and Dartmoor. It is, however, not completely isolated, with lovely towns not too far away.
What makes this property unique
Being able to access good walks over the road to the river Otter and up behind the property is great for dog owners. The Little Barn is in the curtelage of a 16th century thatched Devon Long House with a yard in front and three other very small converted barns. The Little Barn has the advantage of a large garden and gets the morning sun on the balcony.
