We had a wonderful time at Shamrock Cottage. The lovingly nostalgic décor, the peaceful location in the picturesque village of Ilsington, and the small garden with its apple tree and blackberry bushes—where, thanks to the beautiful weather, we were able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner—made our stay a truly special experience.

Superb stay

Comfortable character cottage with lovely garden. Fabulous location next to church and near to village shop and pub. Extremely friendly villagers and warm welcome in pub and shop. Thank you to Sue, we really enjoyed our stay. The dark skies of Dartmoor showed us the best stars! We loved Haytor and all the local countryside. Superb!

We used this property as a base to revisit many places in Devon we hadn't been to for years. It was ideal. Only a few minutes drive, and you're up on the beautiful moors. It was such a bonus we could take our dogs with us. The pub round the corner was very welcoming and the church bells on Sunday morning were glorious. Contact with the property manager was easy with quick responses.
