Many thanks for taking the time to review Casa Abuelo, and we are sorry you didn’t have the perfect stay. We planned the pool for the front (north facing) side of the villa to make the most of the space on this side and also to benefit from the cooling breeze as we find the temperatures on the island can be extremely hot, especially during the summer months. The palm trees also cast dappled shade over the pool, which we love. With regards the villa it is attached and sometimes noise does travel through the connecting wall (in both directions). However we generally find the neighbours to be courteous and any noise tends not to last late into the evening. The pool and surrounding areas were cleaned on the day that you arrived and again during your stay. However the island was subject to a spring calima (wind storm) throughout your stay and this brought with it a degree of airborne sand. This being said, I am sorry that you did not have the perfect stay and thank you once again for taking the time to write a review.

We love it when the villa meets or exceeds expectations and love being part of your happy holiday memories. Thank you for being smashing guests and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. (We will look into upgrading the single mattresses over the next few weeks as a comfortable night’s sleep is essential, especially on holiday!)

Thanks for the glowing review Neil, it really does make us happy when guests have a fantastic stay! We love the position too, it is what drew us to the villa way many years ago when our daughters were little and being in walking distance of everything was such a bonus. Now they are young adults they are even more appreciative of its proximity to town! Sorry the pool wasn't as hot as you'd have liked - it is on the electric heating in winter and spring (as opposed to solar in summer) but it is sometimes difficult to keep the temperature up high, particularly when the wind is blowing. I'm so pleased you and your family had a wonderful stay and would be delighted to host you again in the future

Hi Gerry - thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and constructive review of your stay at Casa Abuelo, it is very much appreciated and I am glad that you had a fantastic stay. We love the pool area too and the location, being so close to the town, has made family life there so easy. The king and superking beds we specifically imported from the UK as we'd had far too many bad experiences of holiday's spent sleepless or with bad backs from poor quality mattresses. The bifold doors are a bit of a pain from time to time. The length of the glass/frame means they are very heavy and this can pull down on the mechanism. We therefore have to get our technical guy in to lift and adjust them from time to time, which only takes half an hour. I will pass on your comments to the team and get the adjustment made as a matter or urgency now you have bought it to my attention. With regards cleanliness, I asked our villa manager to inspect the property. Subsequently she has had a deep clean of the sofa fabric carried out and a complete dust/ of the internal less accessible areas. With regards the patio areas, these are done when the villa is made up for new guests, but the winds and surrounding palm trees can sometimes mean that they are covered in a dusting of sand and palm seeds again in no time. If you had mentioned though I could happily have sent our cleaning team round to give it a quick once over since nobody wants to be sweeping patios on their holiday!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at Casa Abuleo. We clean the pool twice a week and towels are changed weekly on stays of more than 7 nights. We are always happy though to do an extra towel change if you’d like - always just message and ask and we’d be happy to oblige. Thanks for being lovely guests and we are glad you had a lovely stay.
