Splendid Detached Stone Barn Conversion With Rural Views
Mill Barn is a splendid detached stone barn conversion on the edge of Hebden village. The open plan living area has under floor heating and a wood burning stove set in a Yorkshire Stone fireplace, with french doors leading to the patio, perfect for enjoying the peace and tranquillity or for alfresco dining on warmer days. Mill Barn is complemented with a blend of quality furnishings to a high standard creating a warm and welcoming country retreat. Unfortunately we do not accept pets. Surrounded by spectacular countryside it is a haven for exploring the delights of this stunning and tranquil area of the Dales with a footpath down to the River Wharfe just a few minutes walk away. Hebden has a country inn serving meals and tea rooms and there is a regular bus service to Grassington just 1 ½ miles away where the quaint cobbled square has an array of quality shops, inns and restaurants. Grassington is host to various cultural events throughout the year including the Grassington Festival in late June and the popular annual Dickensian weekends in December. Situated midway between Skipton and Pateley Bridge in an area of unspoilt natural beauty, the pretty villages of Burnsall and Bolton Abbey are just a few minutes drive away. Malham Cove and Tarn, Kilnsey Crag, Parceval Hall Gardens and Stump Cross Caverns are all within easy driving distance.

Located in Skipton, this holiday home is in a rural area and on a river. Parcevall Hall Gardens and Kilnsey Park Estate are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Hesketh Farm Park and Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. Pateley Bridge Leisure and Wellbeing Hub and Millenium Maize are also worth visiting.
Lovely barn conversion. Very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Space a little small for 4 adults and would book something a little bigger another time. Ideal for 2 adults/2 children or a couple, would recommend to others.
We love hebden and burnsall and feel super relaxed and refreshed (as much as you do with young kids) after a long weekend eating and walking in the local area. Perfect pad for our holiday, Thanks.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and that the sun shone for you! Hope to see you again soon.
Nice cosy cottage in a good location for visiting the Dales. Quiet and peaceful setting with walks from the door. Bedrooms are quite small with limited storage. Welcome goodies were a nice touch.
Very comfortable barn wirh really lovely surroundings and walks from the door. Underfloor heating appreciated! Helpful hosts dealt with a small problem immediately. Ate out once at local hotel, The Clarendon, too chilly to use the nice outside decking, inside needs refreshing, food, average.

Fantastic position for walking
Perfect, clean and comfortable barn conversion. Well equipped and comfortable for 4 adults. Warm and cosy for our New Year walking holiday with many excellent walks direct from the cottage door. Superb village pub serving excellent food within walking distance, and many other great pubs and walks in the surrounding area.
Owners, Helen and Gavin could not be more accommodating and helpful, and made our stay special.

Mill Barn
We have stayed at Mill Barn several times as we find it perfect for our needs. It is a great location for walking (right on the River Wharfe) for all types of walks from leasurely river walks to moorland and hill walking. Good also for visiting other villages/areas of the Dales and beyond. A good choice of places for eating out, including our special favourite, The Angel at Hetton.
The Barn is clean, well equipped and furnished and so comfortable for staying in on those odd Yorkshire bad weather days! The owners have looked after us well including a generous welcome pack of wine, homemade cake and flowers.

A perfect holiday cottage!
Another lovely week spent at Mill Barn, we have stayed here several times and find it to be a perfect cottage in a perfect location.
The welcome pack was very much appreciated, wine, flowers and even home made cake. The owners are just a phone call away and are always there to help with anything. It's warm and cosy, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a lovely outdoor seating area with great views of the beautiful countryside and River Wharfe.
Great location for walks straight from the door.
Looking forward to our next visit and we would highly recommend this cottage!!!
There are lots of walks straight from the door

Many thanks for your comments, we look forward to you staying with us again in the future.
Our stay at Mill barn was wonderful. the cottage provided everything needed for our stay. We are from Australia and coming from the warm mild weather to cool weather the cottage was so cosy. The position of the cottage was perfect. Walks along the Dales Track were so pleasant. The walks along the river were not difficult and the destinations were lovely villages with fine eating places. The cottage was also close to York which is one of the most fascinating places we have visited in England. The Lake District and Yorkshire area is just fabulous with quaint villages and many walking tracks. The town of Skipton is also so worth a trip with the castle and abbey near by. A highly recommended experience.
The barn is situated in farmland, a stone's throw from the Hebden suspension bridge over the River Wharfe. There are stunning views in all directions and it is fabulously peaceful (apart from normal farm sounds of course!). It's a 15 minute walk uphill to the lovely village of Hebden, and you can stroll along the river to Burnsall (1 mile), or Grassington via the lovely Linton Falls (2 miles).
The house itself is well equipped, comfortable and cosy - we had all we needed for a very enjoyable week's stay. The hosts were communicative and helpful, via messaging. (We did see them).
Enjoyable stay , remote location, good facilities . Ideal for walking & birdwatching, lots of walks without using car .
Access is down some narrow lanes & you have to reverse in & out when parking at the property. It rained quite a bit & it’s fair to say the car needed a good clean on return home . The shower in the bathroom requires some attention as black mould was evident + the kitchen worktop / tiles needs resealing . The double bed whilst comfortable creaks quite a lot most noteable when we wrinklies have to visit the toilet during the night !
A great place to stay just needs tidying up a bit

Perfect setting
The setting was perfect and the cottage cosy and warm. Mainly clean and tidy with nice furnishings. Directions given were good and we accessed the property with no problem.
We arrived to lovely biscuits and some logs to get us going but only 1 match in the match box.
It felt odd that we didn't meet the hosts but perhaps that is the usual process.
I know it would be probably more to keep clean but we felt some more local bits and pieces and perhaps old photos of the area on the walls would add to the feel of the place.
Couple of issues which we feel should be addressed and we hope taken in good faith:
The taps in the bathroom could do with a good clean as there was a lot of black scum around where the taps join the sink which was rather off putting. The shower trap was broken and dirty water inside. The bath had a 20p size chip in it which we feel could be touched up. We found 2 spoons stuck together with some tomato sauce which wasn't nice. The kitchen tap had a slow leak at the bottom. We tried our best to clean before we left but the Henry vacuum just didn't suck well. The dustpan had a bent edge so hard to sweep up effectively.
The heating seemed to came on at 3am which was very noisy upstairs and we had a couple of disturbed nights due to this. The only way we could resolve it was to turn the radiators off at night. Shame as it was such a peaceful spot.
We opened the patio doors for a short while and then struggled to get them closed.
