Excellent location within easy walking distance of downtown Leland and the beaches. Check in was a breeze. House is very roomy with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We had 6 adults and 2 young kids, with plenty of beds and room for everyone. I was a bit worried about not having AC in the room over the garage, but that was truly a non-issue. Would recommend to anyone vacationing on the Leelanau Peninsula.

Thanks for being great guests. We are happy you came and please consider us for your future Leland adventures.
A well-appointed and well-located house. The key lockbox system was great, since we didn't need to keep track of who had the house keys! We very much enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful week at 629 N. Main St. The home is beautiful, well organized, and handy with basic supplies provided. It's a short walk into Fishtown and North Beach. It was a lovely stay.
Quiet, secluded property just minutes walk from downtown Leland
Our family enjoyed our stay at this property which had everything we needed for our one week vacation. The house was clean and comfortable and the location was convenient.
Access to the attached garage was a bonus - we were able to store our bikes and beach gear when we weren't using them.
Hoping to return soon!

Jamie and her group were great guests. They were tidy and respectful of the property. I look forward to hosting Jamie again.
This property is very well-suited for a larger group, with a bright and open central living room/kitchen, outdoor patio, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Interior all seems new and is well-appointed. Leland is a five minute walk or 1 minute drive. Overall a great place.

Glad you found the property to your liking. Thanks for booking!
We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable home! It was very clean with new appliances and decorated nicely. The owner was quick to respond to questions and more than accommodating with changes and requests. Loved the outdoor space with a hammock, fire pit and ample outdoor dining area. Easy walk to North Beach, on Lake Michigan, and also to “Fishtown”. We would definitely stay again!
Lovely and well maintained property close to town. Easy walk to beach, even with little kids. Backyard was perfect size for them and we loved the layout of the bedrooms, so that our families each had their own nooks/private spaces. Greg, the host, was very responsive for the 1 time we needed to text. We have already recommended this location to several friends in the area. Loved it and made our summer!

We are happy that you enjoyed our property! If you want to stay again next year, let me know when you decide on a date. We are usually booked by the end of January. Of course, we give priority to repeat guests.
Had a wonderful experience at this beautiful property! It was the perfect space for myself, husband & 3 other couples to have a relaxing weekend filled with fun! Check in process was a little difficult only because we didn’t realize that the key was in a lock box on the side of the garage. But overall great experience & great time! :) thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven!

Amber, I am sorry that I didn’t make it clear that the lockbox was on the side. I am relieved that the post-check in experience for your group was a good one!
So many maintenance issues which should have been addressed before our arrival
The door locks are VERY sticky which made it difficult/impossible at times to extract the key. The dishwasher sounds like the motor is going bad; super loud. The fire alarm, which is 25' high, started chirping every 15 seconds. My sil disarmed. Ants appeared on the kitchen counters on day 2 although we had kept it clear and wiped down; had to buy ant traps. The light and fan in the bath above the garage randomly went out. Lastly, we saw cockroaches out on the patio and in the laundry room. Yikes, this just grossed us out!

I stayed in the house for five days last week. None of the main entry locks or deadbolts were sticky at all. I tried each one a dozen times and each worked perfectly. Sorry about the low battery on the smoke alarm and thanks for addressing it. The dishwasher sounds like it always has. It’s an LG and it is louder than some. That’s why we run it at night. The fan/light fixture apparently got its circuit breaker tripped. Never happened before but the use of hair dryers might have something to do with it. The house was painted the week before your stay and the cold wet weather pushed the completion date back several weeks. Because of that, my pest control company wasn’t able to spray for spring treatments because you can’t spray and then paint over it. I met with Target Pest Control last week and was assured that there are no “cockroaches” in the house. Occasionally there are wood roaches outside, which are much smaller than the other kind.
If you saw ants, it may be because the annual Spring spray was delayed and we are on a shaded, forested lot.
My cleaning service, who came in jafter your stay, didn't see any ants or other pests.
All issues have been addressed and thank for bringing them to my attention.
I think we must have ousted the owner to have some r&r. We came with cleaning supplies- we had to clean the refrigerator before using it- previous renter or perhaps the cleaning crew did not think to clean out the frig. Rest of place was clean and was perfect for our stay. Sept8-12

Sorry you had to clean out the fridge. If I had been made aware, my cleaning crew would have been notified and the issue would have been mitigated. Normally the fridge is throughly cleaned, and staples such as ketchup and mustard and Mayo are left for the next party to use or toss at their choosing. Thanks for the feedback!
We had a great stay and really enjoyed the location, layout, cleanliness, and furnishings. I’d recommend as a great place to stay for a visit to Fishtown.
Ideal property for our visit...only issue was getting the family room TV working due to loss of firestick password from previous guest...Greg worked with us to fix. Parking not ideal but ok for 2 vehicles.
We enjoyed this property much! It had everything we needed. We loved using the fire pit outside and being able to walk to Fishtown for dinner and sunset watching. Would definitely come back.
This is a beautiful home within the perfect walking distance to Leland. The house perfectly accommodated our party of eight adult women (however, I recommend carpooling as the driveway is on the smaller side). I would not recommend this house for families with young children, as there is virtually no outdoor space to play.
With that said, the management of this house is not worth the asking price. If I had seen the owner's rules prior to booking, I would not have booked. They need a complete rewrite. I respect rules. This is your home, and I am merely a guest. However, the rules were condescending and included far too much personal commentary. Multiple times, they referenced losing my security deposit, including full paragraphs in all-caps. They even let me know there are "spies" in the neighborhood, on guard to report my behavior. This made for an extremely paranoid and uncomfortable stay on behalf of our entire party, with the blinds closed for the duration of our stay.
Additionally, the home was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival. Undoubtedly, we left the home cleaner than when we arrived because of the items we had to clean just to feel comfortable. Some examples include:
1. Dirty kitchen sponges
2. Dirty refrigerator & freezer
3. Ratty dish towels
4. Dirty dishes in dishwasher
5. Black, coarse hair in silverware drawer
6. Leaking Damprid bag in Master Closet
7. Disgusting bathroom fans
8. Outdoor patio that hadn't been swept/cleaned in quite some time
Furthermore, the owner's rules state that each bathroom will be stocked with two rolls of toilet paper, and the kitchen will be stocked with one roll of paper towel. Upon arrival, only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper were provided for all three bathrooms, and no paper towel was provided. When I called the owner, i was polity, acting confused instead of upset. I am an adult woman, and the owner had the audacity to ask me if I was sure, and if I had checked the cabinets. After a conversation that was far too long for a simple issue, the owner was gracious enough to provide access to his locked owner's cabinet for paper products. I did appreciate this level of blind trust.
It was my impression that the property owners live out of state, and there is very little oversight of the on-site management. Perhaps that is why there were so many unacceptable slips. However, when I return to Leland, I will select a different home.
We (two families) enjoyed our stay at this well appointed home-a great home base for walking to town/the beach and exploring all that Leelanau has to offer. Greg was quick to respond to questions and the house was very clean and comfortable for our stay.
We had a great time at this property. Very accommodating host, place was very clean and as described. Kitchen was well outfitted. We really enjoyed being within walking distance to shops and restaurants in Fishtown. Will definitely consider staying here again.

About the host

We have owned property in Leland for 20 years. Now in Kentucky, we enjoy getting away from the heat and humidity of Louisville in Summer. We take full advantage of boating, fishing, hiking, Pickleball, golf and winery touring. Our location just a five minute walk to the beach is wonderful.
Why they chose this property
Why Leland? I've never been anywhere that offers so much variety, all year 'round. It is unique. We first saw Leelanau County in 1997 on a family camping trip. After a while, we bought our first home here in the dead of winter. You can't be bored here, even in winter (Snow and Wineries make things interesting). Our "in town" location just pulls us out of the house to go walking everywhere. We enjoy an abundance of wildlife in our back yard. Deer, turkeys, fox, black and grey squirrels, birds, bobcats.
What makes this property unique
Our home is custom built and is a very short walk to beaches and Fishtown. The open floor plan is great for entertaining. The furniture and bedding are very comfortable and the house is great for relaxing, cooking and enjoying family and friends.
