Welcome to the Bay Block Retreat in the charming Townbank area of North Cape May—a cozy, laid-back getaway just steps from the peaceful Delaware Bay. This inviting home is designed for families, couples, and pet lovers who want comfort, convenience, and those unforgettable Cape May sunsets right at the end of the street.

When you arrive, you’re greeted with a personal welcome note and a complimentary bottle of wine—your vacation officially begins. Inside, the home offers a spotless, comfortable setting perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

Start your mornings with coffee on the patio while kids and pups play safely in the fenced backyard. The bay beach is just a short stroll away—ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking, long walks, or simply soaking in the calm water views.

Afternoons are made for discovering the area’s wineries, breweries, and charming local spots, or returning home to fire up the Weber grill for a casual family dinner. If you’d like to elevate your experience, private wine tastings are available for an additional fee, led by host Debbie Gioquindo, a Certified Specialist of Wine, Wine Location Specialist in Port and Champagne, and Certified Sherry Wine Specialist.

Evenings wind down beautifully here—think sunset strolls, streaming movies on the 60” smart TV, or sharing a playlist over high-speed Wi-Fi. And after a day of Cape May adventures, the cozy bedrooms and refreshing outdoor shower offer the perfect reset.

House is great plenty of room for our family of 4 plus 2 big dogs. Neighborhood is quiet kids can ride bikes to & from the beach along the bay at the end of the street. Would definitely stay again.

Great Pet Friendly Vacation

We were very pleased with how well-appointed and clean the home was. The fenced in yard was great for our pup and the proximity to the bay and other area attractions can't be beat. We walked to the bay every day and enjoyed riding our bikes around the area. We would recommend this property to others looking for a pet friendly vacation home.

My family stayed here for the weekend and had a blast! The house was very well kept and we loved that we can walk right down to the beach! We took our bikes everywhere and really enjoyed our stay. Debbie was quick to answer any questions we had and we would definitely come again!

Beautiful, dog friendly beach rental

We had a wonderful time on our Cape May escape. This home was immaculately clean, spacious and had a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed touring local wineries and relaxing on the beach. Our dogs loved swimming in the bay. The sunsets over the bay were fabulous. We can't wait to return.

Great location for beach lovers!

Our family had a great stay in Cape May. We enjoyed the beach most days (even spotted some dolphins). The house was spacious and clean with all you ask for in the kitchen. We brought our dog who liked the yard (be aware that small dogs could escape from under the fence in a few spots). Overall a fun week in a comfortable home!

Relaxing Getaway

This beach house was a perfect getaway for me, my wife and our two pups. The large fenced in backyard was great and it was just a very short walk away from the bay. We were able to use the bikes that they had there to ride to some really nice wineries and just relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The owners are fantastic and very responsive. We will definitely be booking this home again!

Lovely home in a lovely area

There was nothing we did not fall in love with at this house. The house was very cute and well set up for renters. The walk to the beach was great and the ocean there was also great. Thanks for the wine, we took that to a BYOB restaurant in cape may one evening. I would recommend to anyone who is considering, you will not regret it.

Great secret beach getaway

We loved this beach house and the location. A short walk from the beach, the outdoor shower was always a welcome end to the day. The Weber grill and patio got lots of use as we mainly cooked at home. I think our dog had the best vacation of all with beach access and a fenced in yard. We were new to North Cape Maybut I think we'll keep coming back!

The house is in a nice neighborhood. We walked to the beach multiple times a day.

The home is clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. The owner responded to messages in a timely manner. The coastal storm Ophelia hindered some of our outdoor activities. The sunsets that we did see were not disappointing and very easy to get to! We visit Cape May every year at this time and enjoy everything it offers. The bay area (Townbank) has become our go to place.

We stayed 3Nights to watch the local triathelon. It's one block from the beach. The house is beautiful! It's very comfortable, with plenty of room. Backyard is a great place to eat lunch or dinner on the table outside. Owners are very gracious. They left a note and a bottle of wine for us. It put us in just the right attitude to have a great vacation! I think, if you want to go to Cape May, do nothing to take to rent this house!

Clean quiet pet friendly haven on the Delaware Bay

Very clean well equipped house a block away from the beach, 100% as described. Quiet residential neighborhood yet 15 min away from crowded downtown cape may or wildwood. We enjoyed the sunset and long walks on the Delaware Bay beach. Who knew May was the season for horseshoe crab spawning? Fascinating to meet those creatures right on the beach. The yard was quiet and a nice place to have a break between local visits downtown, to wineries, minigolf, salt marsh safari etc. We had a great stay! First family vacation in more than a year due to the pandemic and our teens were thrilled.

Family vacation with adult children and two small dogs

We spent a nice week in this well-kept, clean home. Location was great for us and it showed us a section of Cape May we had not been exposed to before. With six adults, we had ample room upstairs, house temp remained cool, and there was plenty of hot water throughout our stay. Owner was very responsive - I only had one question regarding garbage. My one suggestion might be to add a couple more chairs to the outside patio area so that everyone can sit at once (only five chairs there now). Thank you for sharing your home with us! I recommend this property without hesitation.

FEELING DISAPPOINTED

Love this Home, left feeling like a criminal for leaving minor infractions such as a “poorly cleaned grill” and water balloon pieces in the grass. Arrived to a dirty house with poorly cleaned floors, stained carpet, dirty glass doors and dog bowl filled with dirty water that my daughter put her hands in. I was told that “I should have watched my child”? Maybe you should fix your dining room chair that cut my family members leg because it was missing a rail? Don’t question my family and our parenting when we paid you $4000 in two years lady. We even vacuumed and cleaned the house back to where it should have been left when we arrived!!! Owner was even notified of issues upon checkout which were ignored. Sad way to end a great week! 😞

This is a complete sabotage review because we deducted $50 from Ryan's security deposit for water balloon clean-up and a grill left with grease and food on the side tables, grill plates were full of stuck-on food and needed to be completely disassembled and cleaned. We enter the home upon each guests check-out and inspect the home prior to the cleaning crew entering. In this case, Ryan asked for early check-in so we went to the home after the cleaning crew cleaned to make sure it was clean for the guest to arrive. (remember I saw the home before the cleaning crew came and after) At that point, I notified Ryan that he can have early check-in as the home was ready. At no point during his stay did he notify us of any issues. The welcome letter says to do so. He did notify us of the issue with the antique chair upon check-out which we immediately fixed. He said there was a stain on the carpet, and I find that hard to believe that it was left by the prior guests since neither me, my husband or the cleaning crew saw it. In addition, I personally went to clean it and if it was a week old, it would have been crusty and dry which it was not. The stain came up easily. I do want to also note that final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. I sent Ryan a reminder and when I didn't receive his check by June 24 I contacted him again. He told me I should receive it any day. He did send it out. On June 26, still haven't received his final payment I emailed him again. He responded ."I thought my mom sent it with other mail that had to go out and it didn’t!" I received his final payment 4 days prior to his arrival.

I've been coming down here since the late 1980's when I met my husband staying at his parents home not to far from this home. My kids grew up coming down here every summer.

Now we live here year round. Moved here from the Hudson Valley region of New York in 2013. I am a wine blogger and educator known as The Hudson Valley Wine Goddess. So I can give you some good wine suggestions.

I love it down here. There's nothing like the beach there is so much to do and see. My kids grew up coming down here, so we've done everything from the adult thing to the kid thing to the local thing.

In 2021 we opened a restaurant in North Wildwood called Trio North Wildwood. We invite all our guests to the restaurant during their stay.

Why they chose this property

One of the most important considerations for us was that the house we purchase had to be within one block from the bay. There is nothing like walking down to the bay to kayak, paddle board and then later in the day with a glass of wine to watch the sunset. We've made Cape May our home, we want you to make it your home for a week.

What makes this property unique

Just steps from the bay beach. This home was built in 2008 and was barely lived in. We pride ourselves giving you a nice vacation home to make wonderful memories in.
