About this property

Comfortable family home on quiet street in center of magnificent parks!

In the midst of beautiful Southern Utah scenery, enjoy this home on a quiet street away, but easily accessed, from the busy US Highway 89 in the small town of Orderville. It has a fascinating Utah pioneer history with most of the residents having roots back to the founding families of the 1800s. The Native American tribes of Paiutes, Navajos, and Moquis camped and hunted the region. Walk through the town safely and hike several local trails and canyons close by. Watch for fantastic sunrises and sunsets, with views of towering white and vermillion cliffs and rolling hills in the valley. Don't forget to take your camera. This home has 3 bedrooms which will sleep 8 with 2 bathrooms, dining area seats 6 with additional seating for 2 at a small bar. There is a lighted basketball court with outdoor seating in a shaded area. Also a BBQ grill and firepit for enjoying the evening and roasting marshmallows.

About the host

Hosted by Derek Lamb

Host profile image
Brothers Ron, Brad and Derek Lamb are the homeowners. Their mother, Farel Esplin Lamb Sorensen, lived and labored in the home for many years with Brad and Derek. Ron's family, with sister Sharlene's family, worked alongside in the design, creation, and maintenance of the family gathering spot. Born, raised, and buried in the town, Farel was very proud of the home and kept the corner property very neat and crispy clean. By getting up early and working late, she kept her yard weed free and full of hundreds of flowers.

Why they chose this property

This property was inherited from our mother's father, Fern Esplin. We then put the home here for our mother which she took great pride in. It has been a place of gathering for our families for many years. Our family has been in the area since the mid 1800's so we have a great heritage here in this area. It has many good memories for us and we enjoy the town and the people, many of whom are part of the same heritage.

What makes this property unique

This Is on a quiet street with good neighbors and great view of the mountains to the east. There is a large front porch with trees in the front and a beautiful Clematis at the end covered with deep purple flowers when in bloom. The two car driveway and 1 car carport provides for several vehicles. It has a lighted basketball court with one basket and a shaded area for afternoon seating.
