A perfect location and a superb cottage with everything we needed. The bikes were an ideal way of exploring the island. We had everything we needed so spent 4 days on the island.
Beautiful little house in a superb location on the lake. House had everything you could possibly want. No privacy curtains or blinds but these are not needed. It is very secluded and private. No human can be seen for miles. Highly recommended as a recluse or escape from the world. Fabulous host who was always available for questions
The Simcoe Island cottage exceeded all expectations that we had! The cottage was absolutely lovely and comfortable and the grounds were breathtaking with the views of the grassy acreage and Lake Ontario. We enjoyed swimming, bike riding and playing various games supplied daily with the whole family. The kids loved sleeping in the charming bunkie and we had a couple of great nights having a fire with smores. The Island is truly idyllic and the residents are so friendly. The ferries were a fun experience as well! We thought we would be running into Kingston to fill our time but only went in once for supplies. So much to do on the Island and so relaxing. We were truly sad to leave after a week. We could have stayed another week for sure! Matt was an amazing host. This place is a hidden gem.
A truly wonderful property, and Matt and his mom were great hosts. The views of the ever-changing Lake Ontario were amazing, from calm to raging. The shoreline offered a parade of Monarch butterflies, gulls, hawks and Great Blue Herons.
Our morning/evening bike rides along the island's sole dirt road had Lake Ontario on one side, the St. Lawrence River to the other -- and a herd of cows awaiting at the island's end along with the Great Lake's oldest lighthouse.
Reaching Simcoe Island requires a 5 minute, "on-demand" ferry -- which fits 3 cars at most -- and costs $6 round trip. On the other side is Wolfe Island and its town of Marysville, where you can dine, shop or catch a 20-minute ferry to the lovely city of Kingston. (Check out Pig & Olive near the ferry for your meat/poultry needs, or the farmer's market next to City Hall for everything else.)
The 1 bedroom house has amazing views of the lake, amazing views of the night sky and a truly cool, sprawling property. One can do nothing, or pretend to be at a summer camp: the rental has everything from snorkeling gear to fishing poles to a pedal boat to a croquet set. We used all of them, plus made nightly fires along the shoreline.
The house is comfortable, well-equipped and, in short, we cannot recommend a better place to unwind and relax. We drove away from the property yearning for another week on Simcoe. We The North.
Nice private relaxing location with very comfortable house! Best view with my morning coffee!

Simcoe Island
What a lovely place to unwind and forget about the daily grind of life. We stayed for two weeks at Matt's cottage on Simcoe Island and every day was a new adventure. The peacefulness and tranquillity make it a wonderful place to catch your breathe and recharge your batteries. There are so many things to do like going into Marysville for the afternoon or playing in the waves at Big Sandy Bay or taking a day trip to the States or just enjoying the natural and ever changing beauty of Lake Ontario. We did all of those things and more and enjoyed every minute of our time at the Simcoe Island cottage.

Fantastic
We stayed 2 weeks and this property can be summed up with the word fantastic. The owner met us at the property, explained everything and is only four properties away, so any questions were promptly answered. Tons of activities and everything you need is provided. Paddle board, paddle boat, fishing, swimming, snorkling, bonfire, bicycles, towels, bedding, everything. Right on the water so you can fall asleep to the sound of waves. We will definitely be back!
