Rock Haven at North Street is a newly built cabin, situated on 11 wooded acres in the Adirondack Park. This gorgeous home is less than a mile and a half from the center of Old Forge, where you'll find countless small town shops, restaurants, and more. The house is one mile from Enchanted Forest Water Safari, making this the perfect family getaway. The scenic North Branch of the Moose River is a quarter of a mile down the road, proving great opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. Hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails go right by the end of the driveway, making for the ideal setting for a winter snowmobile retreat. These trails turn into hiking and biking paths in the summer months.

An open floor plan, three bedrooms and three full baths make this rental ideal for those who want to stay in the same cozy house with each other, without sacrificing privacy. A fully finished walk-out basement includes a bedroom with queen-sized bed, a living area, a full bathroom, and laundry facilities. The main level includes a bedroom with queen-sized bed, full bathroom, and a cozy open floor plan with kitchen, dining area, and living room, complete with a wood burning stove. The lofted upstairs has another bedroom with queen-sized bed, a full bathroom, and a loft area with a twin trundle bed for extra sleeping areas. Blankets & pillows are included for all beds; guests just need to bring their own sheets, bathroom towels, and any paper products.

The home has a beautiful covered porch, where you can sit and drink your morning coffee while listening to the birds, or enjoy a cocktail in the evenings and relax after a full day. An open deck with chairs provides space to sit in the sun and soak up the wooded views that surround the cabin. An outdoor fire pit is the perfect spot to gather, roast marshmallows, and visit with family and friends.

Even while inside, the many windows in this home allow you to feel as though you are surrounded by the peaceful woods. No neighbors are in sight, making this the ideal private location, without sacrificing the convenience of being close to town. We had a wonderful stay at Rock Haven. The property was just as shown in pictures. Spacious bedrooms, bathrooms, and living area. Kitchen was well equipped. We loved the big wrap around porch and loved relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. With also enjoyed many fires around the fire pit. The location and privacy was perfect! Planning to go back next year. Highly recommend for a memorable Old Forge experience!

Lovely house! Right near Old Forge but still very private. Loved the three floors with bedrooms and full bathrooms on all levels. The house was so cozy, clean, furnished beautifully, with all needed kitchen/other items right there. The owner was so nice and easy to text with for whatever was needed. Just a really nice spot to explore that side of the lower Adirondack Park.

We really enjoyed our rime at Rock Haven. Anything we wanted to do was so within reach either by walking or a short drive. There was so much to do that we didn't have a chance to do it all. The house and property are so private yet so close to everything and very cozy! We loved it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Rock Haven. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would ever need. The wagon full of wood along with an axe and saw was very helpful. Thanks!The cabin was close to town but also seemed to be in the middle of the woods! It was a very relaxing three days that went by too fast. We didn't ger to see a bear and the moose came near there a week later. Darn!We hope to come for a longer amount of time next year!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Rock Haven! The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip. The location is perfect! private and peaceful, yet just a short drive from the heart of Old Forge.The thoughtful touches throughout the home made it feel warm and inviting. The layout was great for our group, with plenty of space to spread out while still feeling cozy. We especially loved the quiet mornings on the deck and the easy access to nearby trails and attractions.The hosts were fantastic as always! friendly, responsive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. You can tell they really care about their guests’ experience.We can’t recommend Rock Haven enough and are already looking forward to coming back for another Adirondack adventure!

Great place.

Good place, secluded and quiet, nice home, nice porch, 1 mile from Main st, a yard to play in, plenty of parking. A newer home and well cared for. Nice place for a family. The 10 AM check out was tight, it was required of us to dust all furniture and wipe and dry the showers and sinks, sweep; we haven't seen all that before in the check out rules of a VRBO.

The house was perfect for our group. Peaceful, spacious, and super clean. Tucked back on a long private driveway, it felt like our own little escape in the woods, but it was still close to town and the race finish.We had our one-year-old with us and really appreciated how family-friendly the place was. The pack-and-play, high chair, and open layout made things easy. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals together, and the view from the deck made morning coffee a highlight.The hosts were great — clear instructions, easy check-in, and everything was just as described (if not better). We’ve stayed in a lot of places for races and weekend trips, and this one was by far a favorite. Would 100% stay here again!

Our names are Ryan & Catherine, and we've called Old Forge home for the past 11 years. We've spent our married lives working in Old Forge/Inlet and going on adventures together. We've lived a minimalist married life (until we built a house and then had kids!), including spending a year living in a canvas wall tent in order to be able to save money for our trips. We've been blessed to be able to hike the Appalachian Trail 3 times, thru-paddle the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail, and we're hoping for more opportunities for trips in the future! We built this home in 2013 and poured our hearts into it. In June of 2016, we relocated to western New York to pursue careers, but want to keep this house for the rest of our lives. Now we have the joy of sharing it with our two young children. Offering Rock Haven as a vacation rental is our way of being able to keep our home for years to come, and enable other families to make memories there too!

Why they chose this property

We bought the property and had the house built because it is the perfect combination of privacy and proximity to town. With 11 wooded acres and one heck of a long driveway, we're able to escape into the woods, and be only minutes away from all of what Old Forge has to offer. We love being able to walk or bike down the driveway and be on the town trails with woods, streams & ponds within minutes!

What makes this property unique

Although this is not a lakefront property, it is so unique in Old Forge. Being able to enjoy the privacy & peacefulness of the surrounding woods while being so close to town is (we think!) the perfect place to be...
