The house, pool, and property were beautiful! The amenities were fantastic. It was the perfect choice for our family; there was something for everyone! The host was lovely! She was so helpful!
Gorgeous and well-appointed property. We spent most of our time - hot, humid days in June - floating in the pool, enjoying the lovely patio, and grilling delicious meals, sipping cocktails and creating memories! Close to Annapolis, lovely waterfront, restaurants, and shopping. Perfect for our annual girlfriend get-away!
We had a great time with our family at this property! The house fit us comfortably and we were able to enjoy the backyard everyday!
Our favorite part was the pool and the water activities! We would recommend our stay to anyone who is looking for a nice vacation home for their family!
This home had it all! My family went swimming in the river, used all the various water toys, and spent much of their time in the pool. We had some great games of water volleyball and just floating on the various pool floats. There was also a hot tub that everyone sat in at some point. Then there was inside. There was a pool table, shuffle board and comfortable beds. Everyone from 7 to 77 had a fantastic time.
It was exactly as advertised and perfect for our family get together vacation. The house had everything you could need. Activities for all ages. We couldn't have asked for more. The pool was perfect, lots of comfortable furniture, lots of pool activities. Kids ages 3-17 never wanted for something to do. having the kayaks, and paddle boards added to the fun as well as the crabbing and fishing. The area was convenient to Annapolis, Baltimore, and DC. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet.....I'm sure we were the noisiest of the bunch. Even the little playground down the street was a great respite to get the kids all out of the house for a few minutes. wouldn't hesitate to rent this again.
This home was perfect for our reunion with our current 12 member family traveling from London, Seattle, Portland, Virginia and Washington, DC. The size of the house and the property allowed everyone’s needs to be attended to in terms of space. The swimming pool with slide, the river with kayaks and a canoe, the swing set and tire swing kept all ages entertained and happy.

Great for family get-aways
We had an extended family get-together at Cindy's home, and it was a perfect place for our group of 8 adults and 6 kids ages 1-12. The property had so much to offer - beautiful pool and hot tub, fire pit, kids play equipment, lawn games, dock with crabbing, fishing and boating. The kids especially loved the zipline! The house itself was a perfect size and layout to accommodate everyone. Cindy gave us great tips and a tour when we arrived ,and the house was fully stocked with everything you could need, including a goodie basket Cindy put together for us. We are already thinking about renting the house again next year, and maybe making it a tradition!

Very good residence and location for family vacation
We are a family of 12 with 7 adults and 5 children including a baby of 4 months. The house worked very well for us and had very thing we might need. The pool was the big attraction for both adults and children particularly the slide for the children. The waterfront was also used frequently by the children. Our stay was a week and it still was not long enough to use all the facilities. We grilled several times but enjoyed going out to eat close by at the Lure and in Annapolis. We meet Cindy and her husband when we arrived and they were leaving on a trip. Left how to reach them if needed as well as a number for a local family member. We had no need to contact them. Would highly recommend.

Lovely house set in nice neighborhood. Swimming pool fun for all ages with perfectly placed umbrellas, wonderful shallow end with lots of inflatables and basketball net. Deep end perfect for jumping and the slide. Also it was surrounded by beautiful plantings and lots of seating. We enjoyed eating suppers outside.
We left the parlor and formal dining room unused, but spent a lot of time in the kitchen and family room side of the house. Great TV and adjustable thermostat. Cindy and Dave were great hosts and made a bed available on the 1st floor for our 97 yr old Mom. The creek was a nice addition but we found the kayaks, canoe and paddle boards a bit grungy. There was no hot water in basement bedroom’s bathroom. The weather was perfect so we never used the game room or bar. The dogs had a great time, especially swimming in the creek. A great place for a family vacation!

Thank you for listing out our many amenities and detailing how you enjoyed your stay. We had no problem setting up the extra bed - which included opening a room that is normally not included in the rental, so required a significant amount of extra work for us - at no extra charge. We try to “go the extra mile” for our guests. That is why it is particularly disappointing to hear that you could not get hot water in the lower-level bathroom, as we heard nothing about this during your 2-week stay. The hot water is working fine in that bathroom – we had guests in right after your stay with no issues, and we just checked it again now – so I am not sure why you couldn’t get it to work. Had you given us any indication of a problem, we would have been happy to help you. Regarding the watercraft being “grungy”, all are in perfect working condition, and most are no more than 2 years old, but they are boats that are kept outside by waters’ edge, so they are not going to remain spotless during a 2-week stay. There is a hose at water’s edge which can always be used to rinse them off prior to use.
This property had everything a family could want, especially for our five grandkids aged 1-6. The pool, hot tub and patio were wonderful and we spent most of our time there. The kids also loved the home theater setup and the arcade game, pool and shuffleboard.
We all loved our stay at this property! Large spaces, very clean, well appointed, and beautifully landscaped. Quality linens. The kitchen & pantry had tons of appliances and all of the necessities. The grandkids were either in the pool or on the tire swing the entire time.
The house has everything a group could want or need! Pool, water slide, game room, and right on the water. Cindy was great to work with and best of all: we didn’t have to bring towels and sheets or wash everything and clean fridge when we left! This was our second time renting the home and would do so again in a heartbeat!
Fabulous stay on the water with amenities for all ages infant to teen to adult
Loved our stay in this beautifully landscaped home on a quiet creek off the Severn River near Annapolis! We had a multigenerational family of 15 that included infants, children, teens and adults. We were able to bring in a sailboat to the dock for use, paddle and kayak and enjoy the pool with slide and hot tub. Sailed to Annapolis for lunch one day and played around on he Severn all week but also enjoyed paddling off the dock, fishing and crabbing. The house was very accommodating for all ages and the owners were very responsive. Loved our time here!
The house is beautifully landscaped in an upscale community at the end of Kyle Road in the Herald Harbor community. There are numerous amenities to enjoy including a pool table, shuffleboard table, movie theater set up, steam shower, grand piano and electric keyboard. The pool in the backyard is spectacular, and there is a whirlpool spa. There is a large gas grill and separate griddle. The house is ideal for families with kids. There is even a nice little park/playground for the kids a short walk down the road. Cindy, the owner, is very dog friendly, and just about every house in the row has at least one dog. The entire area is very dog friendly!
The neighborhood is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from serious shopping for groceries, and pharmaceuticals as well as serious dining. In short, the house is an ideal getaway for families with children and dogs to relax and have fun. You will want to park in the spacious driveway and not run around to go sightseeing. Cindy is a caring and considerate owner who has created a “my home is your home” environment, welcoming guests to use the facilities and her supplies.
After a long separation, our family group of 13
( ages 3 to 69) , were gathered for 5 nights, 4 days at this lovely home. Everything was excellent. The pool had a lovely shallow shelf for the young one , the slide was a hit with everyone.
The access to the dock, kayaks, little sandy beach was wonderful. The numerous “ stations” of tables, umbrellas, the hammock made it easy to be together or get some time alone or with a small group.
The kitchen was completely functional, with great appliances. Grills outside as well.
The piano room was so lively and the perfect spot for a little quiet time for the youngest.
Living areas were versatile as you could have a card game going on in dining room, more active gathering in living room with a gorgeous floor to ceiling fireplace.
We have been to several locations as a large group; this is the first one that’s been discussed as a possible return to!
Our stay for our son's commissioning from USNA was incredible! House was perfect for our large group of adults, very comfortable and so much to do for everyone. Owners were always responsive when we had questions and helped us when we needed it. We had a great time and would recommend this house to any large group looking to relax and enjoy the beautiful house and property.
With all that we are not allowed to do during the Pandemic, this property gives an entire weekend of entertainment. The owner is very responsive and flexible with the state of the world.
There’s no doubt that water was the highlight of the week - from the beautiful pool and hot tub - to the kayaking, canoeing, paddle boat, & SUP boards - not to mention the excellent crabbing, we had all the water sport activity one could ask for. After the grandchildren (and adults) had their daily fill of all of the above there were plenty of indoor activities, even a movie or two, to make for full, fun and exciting days. Thanks Cindy and Dave for providing the perfect spot for a perfect vacation!
Perfect for relaxing or group activities indoors and out. The house and the property have everything you need with a pool, boat dock, plenty of space and indoor and outdoor games.

About the host
Hosted by Cindy Shay
We (Cindy and Dave) have lived at the property for 17 years. Cindy grew up in the area and still has a lot of family here. Dave is a native of West Virginia and is a retired Naval officer. Being a native of the area, Cindy knows many of the best kept secrets for touring, etc. - and loves to share them with guests!
Why they chose this property
Cindy grew up waterskiing and crabbing on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Her goal was always to own waterfront, but also wanted a large yard. After looking extensively, they found this property, which used to be part of a large farm that encompassed all of Kyle Point. We fell in love with the peace and quiet of Fox Creek. With almost 3 acres of land, we also had plenty of room for a pool and big yard for the kids (and adults) to play. We designed and built the house in 2000 and have loved living here. We love to share our home with others and watch them enjoying themselves in our home as much as we do!
What makes this property unique
The best of both worlds - waterfront to enjoy all the water activities PLUS a large pool and hot tub for those that prefer the pool life!! Plenty of room to spread out, and all the parking you need.
