For us the villa was just perfect. Quiet location but close enough to everything you could want or need. It’s described as remote but has access to everywhere within 30-40 minutes as well as access to local beaches and restaurants in significantly less. Being away from things allows you to explore and find the best spots. Perfect and impeccably maintained by Nikos. Great food at every turn, beautiful scenery, wonderful helpful locals and great hosts who provided us with excellent recommendations. .We couldn’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to return.

The property & grounds were delightful & very comfortable. Excellent location between two villages & 15/20 minute drive to the nearest beach. Plenty of restaurants & cafes nearby & very good value. The location was just right for chilling by the pool, with beautiful views of the Lefka Ori mountains .

A beautiful villa with an amazing view on the mountain Lefkas Ori. A great hospitality from the owners Nikos and Elisa. The place is nice and quit, but there is need for a car. Nearest taverna , coffee corner and supermarket reachable within 5 minutes of drive. Definitely will go there back in the future. It was our first time to visit Crete and we fell in love with it!

Review for stay from 24 July 2025 to 31 July 2025

We absolutely loved staying here - it was definitely one our favourite family holidays. Crete is a great place, and Villa Vrisses was even better in real life than in the photos! Everything was perfect, and we were so glad we chose to stay here. The owners were extremely helpful, and attended to our questions really swiftly. It was a beautifully relaxing place to stay and we loved having breakfast on the terrace looking out over the mountains. The villa is well equipped with everything we needed. The pool was gorgeous, and particularly perfect for a family with a young child who had just started swimming unaided. The outside space and seating area is fantastic, and we loved using the bbq too. We enjoyed going up the road (in car) to Nipos to the great restaurants there, and exploring more widely in the car too. We loved this villa being our base though - it was fab to come home to :o) We would love to come again!!

We can't recommend this wonderful place enough. Elisa was the perfect host and was so welcoming to us (a family with three children). The villa has plenty of room and the pool area is ideal - bigger than we thought and set within beautiful gardens. The house was clean and spacious with very effective air conditioning which was essential during our August trip. The local town is pleasant and it's only a short drive to loads of places (the lake is great fun (get there early to save queuing for a pedalo), Georgiopolis OK for a sea swim, Rethymno the place for a town and long, busy beach, and Chania itself is busy and full of things to do). Not that you'll want to leave the villa of course! Elisa helped us with local recommendations and even helped my daughter to learn some Greek! We hope to come back soon!

Not for party goers

For those seeking to be in the mix, in the centre of a lively party scene, don't come here...this villa, set on a rural road 1km from the nearest settlement, is peaceful, well maintained and equipped, with stunning views of the mountains from the balcony. There is a neighbouring villa but it is out of sight and neither disturbed the other. Apart from a horse (who likes to be fed) and the buzz of crickets, there is nothing else to distract - absolutely wonderful. Vrisses (Vyrses), the nearest village, has all you need and there is an excellent beach 15 minutes away in Georgioupoli. It is also convenient for the Imbros Gorge (much quieter than Samaria) and the road down to Hora Stakion and the south coast with ferries to Loutro. The owner is on hand to repair or fix anything that might go wrong. A fantastic spot which we would be happy to rent again.
