This house in Dijon in Burgundy is in a good location not only for visiting this old town, but also if you need a stopover on your north-south journey. It is 2kms to the west of the town centre, 5 minutes by car or 15 mins on foot from the station. It is also just 5 minutes from the ring road and the A6 autoroute.
The Lac de Dijon, the canal towpath and numerous footpaths are just 10 minutes away on foot. If you want to explore the Burgundy 'route des grands crus' wine route and visit the vineyards and wine cellars, this too starts just 5 minutes away by car.
You won't need to leave the house if you want to relax after your journey. Unwind on one of the two terraces or in the flower-filled, scented and well-maintained 1500m2 gardens here. Raphael is a passionate gardener. Breakfast or dinner can be taken outside when the weather allows.
The house is split across 3 floors. The kitchen and dining room are on the ground floor, 2 bedrooms, the bathroom and a library on the first floor, then the third bedroom on the top floor under the eves. If you only rent one room you will have exclusive use of the facilities, although obviously this arrangement is also ideal for families or friends that know each other
Raphael is passionate about all things 18th century and consequently the house is filled with beautiful antique furniture from that era as well as paintings and other art objects and tapestries. It's all about good taste and understated elegance here! Parking space, and WiFi throughout the house. The three guest rooms are only ever let to people who know each other and are happy to share the bathroom facilities.
The two south-facing first floor rooms both have a balcony with lovely views. Walls are covered with traditional fabrics. They both have a 140cm wide double bed with excellent quality mattresses and bed linen. They share the spacious bathroom on the landing which has a large corner shower, washbasin and WC. Soap, shower gel and shampoo are provided as well as a hairdryer, tissues.
The bedroom on the top floor has two single beds and shares the first floor bathroom with the other 2 rooms. Better for teenagers as the ceiling is low(1.8m).

It’s like you have your own personal manor. The property and the gardens are amazing. You won’t stop shooting photos of the property and it gives you quick access to La Route des Grand Crus and downtown Dijon. It will be different than any other place you’ve ever stayed, but only in the best ways.
Sehr sauber und ordentlich, außerordentlich angenehmer Vermieter
Gemütliche Besonderheit für Liebhaber gediegener Atmosphäre. Ruhig gelegen am Rande der Stadt (20 Minuten zu Fuß)
mit idyllischem Garten.
Amazing country home in Dijon. Exactly as pictured in listing.
Our host added to the experience with his charming demeanor. The private garden and grounds helped make it all that he special. I could not recommend this property out this host higher. It was a grandparent's get away and all 3 generations felt at home.
Owner Raphael has lovingly restored a 150 year old family house which provides a warm and authentic accommodation experience in Dijon. It is very spacious downstairs with both indoor and outdoor areas to relax, eat, talk. Spacious kitchen too with all the facilities you need. Upstairs there are fantastic double bedrooms, beautifully decorated and balconies. This was ideal for our two couples which stayed in the house. We were made to feel very welcome by Raphael who was living in his studio next door. He assisted us with transport from train station , groceries and winery tour.
Unfortunately we only had 3 nights, we would loved to have stayed for much longer. But we had so much fun, really felt like we were part of the town( which was an easy 20 Min walk away ) and felt we were staying at a good friends home by the time we left. We even used the bikes to ride to the bakery for our morning bread and pastries
We thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

We had a wonderful overnight stay on our way to the Alps in this charming property. Everything was as expected, and the kitchen was very well equipped for us to cook meals in.

Country escape in Dijon
We only stayed overnight, but wanted to spend a few days! This is a rustic, quaint house close to the train and a lovely park. Beautiful gardens & plenty of space to relax. The owner was very communicative and his mother who greeted us was absolutely charming. The house is interesting and has a huge kitchen. There is a great little bakery & restaurant a little over a kilometer away, totally walkable, and about a 3 minute drive. Thank you Raphael- and please thank your mother- she was very sweet and made us feel so very welcome!

Perfekt!!
Merci!

A Beautiful Oasis with a Charming Host - 5+ Stars
My wife, 3 girls (18,18,14) and I had a lovely night staying in Rafael's house in Dijon. We chose Dijon as a stop over on our way to Normandy from a stay in Cote D'Azure. After we arrived and settled on the terrace in his beautiful garden we decided to change our plans and cancelled our reservations for an anticipated dinner in Dijon and instead went to the local grocery store for supplies for dinner al fresco on the patio. Raphael offered his grill but we decided on charcuterie to go with our wine, salad and desert. The girls took many pictures in the garden and around the house - it was a joyful fashion shoot followed by a relaxed and congenial dinner.
The house is exactly as pictured and is filled with charming elements of old and new resulting in a comfortable and eclectic environment to relax in. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and the bathroom is modern and fully appointed.
After a good nights sleep we rose for breakfast of Fresh breads, homemade jams, fruit salad and a home made cake with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. It was such a nice morning we chose to eat again on the terrace instead of the formal dining room and Raphael set a delightful table with linens and silver ware.
We were off and on our way to friends in Normandy but all agreed what a wonderful time we had and would have easily enjoyed a longer stay. Raphael is a charming and attentive host and his attention to detail and his guest's comfort is apparent without being intrusive. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Authentic french living experience.
Rafarl is a fantastic host. His home is exactly as described. My wife, two teenage children and I stopped to stay on our way from Geneva to Paris. The house is set in a beautiful garden. The neighborhood is very quiet. Rafael was kind enough to drop us off in the center of town, about 5 minutes away, so we didnt have to worry about parking. He picked us up after dinner, which I think is above and beyond.
The house is approximately 170 years old. However, Rafael has remodeled it beautifully. The bath is modern and plenty of hot water was available for our American showers.
Rafael's breakfast service was outstanding. He served in the formal dining room with silver and linen. Home-made cake, local fruit and excellent preserves were laid out for us to enjoy.
I would love to come back and stay for a couple of nights to get to know Dijon a bit better.
