Amazing bike friendly townhouse conveniently located on a quiet street in the centre of Bourg d'Oisans. This 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house provides an impressive 150 m² of spacious and very comfortable living for 6 people.

The house is arranged over 3 floors with the ground floor entrance hall leading to a laundry room, 2 bathrooms and a secure garage, perfect for bikes/skis or any other outdoor equipment. The garage is equipped with a track pump, workbench, bike racks, work stand, basic tools and is accessible from the street and from inside the house.

The first floor has 2 landings and 3 spacious bedrooms with an en suite in the main bedroom.

On the top floor is a large 25 m² fully equipped kitchen with a walk-in pantry and dining area with impressive views of Alpe d'Huez. There's also a separate 25 m² sitting room with 3 comfortable sofas, wide screen satellite TV with French and some English channels, media player, DVD player and a Hi Fi sound system. Leading off the sitting room is a sunny west facing terrace (9 m²) with table, chairs and mountain views. Outside is a very small yard with plenty of space to wash your bikes.

Throughout this house there is an eclectic mix of artwork on the walls and antique furniture. The varied styles, along with other unique features add to the overall cool vibe.

The town centre is a minutes walk away with its many bars and restaurants, butcher, bakeries, supermarkets, bike shops and excellent weekly market.

The house is perfectly situated, being close to some of the best cycling routes in the Alps. From the front door you can reach the 21 hairpin bends of Alpe d'Huez within minutes. It's also a perfect starting point for Col du Galibier, Col d'Ornon, Col de la Croix de Fer and Col du Glandon. Cyclists from all over the world come to Bourg d'Oisans as a base to train, race and explore the challenges offered by the Alps.

IDEALLY placed for cycling events, Alpe d'HuZes, Marmotte and Tour de France!

Getting to Bourg d'Oisans.....

The nearest airport is Grenoble St. Geoirs, which is 56 miles away, approximately 90 mins by car. Pre-book car hire from the airport or take the transfer to Grenoble city centre then take a local bus to Bourg d'Oisans (local buses stop running around 7 pm so check Transisère timetable).

Lyon airport is 85 miles away, so allow 1 hour 45 mins by car or there are regular shuttle buses to Grenoble centre (Flixbus or Actibus) then take a Transisère bus to Bourg d'Oisans for 7 euros.

Grenoble train station is 44 miles, take a Transisère bus to Bourg d'Oisans for 7 euros. The bus station is 50 m from the SNCF train station.

The drive from Calais is 570 miles, roughly 9.5 hrs by autoroute.

A great find in Le Bd'O

We loved our stay in this town house, which has such great charm and character; our daughter wanted to stay indefinitely and work her way through the books! The ratio of 3 bathrooms (one en suite) to 3 main bedrooms was spot on for our group and the presence of a laundry room and "workshop" really useful after a day in the mountains. Put simply the home is spacious, comfortable and well located (just a short walk to the shops of BdO) and a joy to come back to after a day out. The owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating and we certainly hope to visit again!

We were with our family 4 adults. Our boys cycled La Marmotte and many more climbs in the area. Of course they liked the garage with enough space for their bikes. The communication went very well and so did the the check in. The house was clean, the beds comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. Nice terrace for a coffee or drink. Location of the house is perfect, one minute to the center, yet very quite. We had a great week. We would definitely recommend this place.

You can't judge a book from it's cover. Same thing applies to this place. From the outside you wonder a little bit about the place but once you are inside you are amazed at how big the place is and the owner's attention to details. I'm the cook for our family and this is the first place in all of our travels that had everything we needed to cook amazing meals. They had all of the pots and pans and seasoning available. I did not have to run to the store to simply get some salt or pepper. It was here. Along with that the place was super clean and well stocked with towels and toilet paper. You may laugh at that last one but the last two places I stayed at did not include TP. Anyways, the owners, were really helpful with any requests that we had and offered suggestions for things to do in the area. They have a really good stereo system that goes along with their entertainment system stocked with hundreds of DVD's. I would rent this place again in a hearbeat and will recommend it to any of my friends who might be traveling in the area. Jeff

Fantastic house with central but quiet location

Paul and Jayne's house is fantastic. It is spread over many levels, with interesting rooms, spaces, balconies etc. The house is very clean and well kept. The kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are comfortable. The living room has a sophisticated AV setup. There a number of bicycles of all sizes. Highly recommended.

Perfect!!!

We were a group of 6 cyclist and the location could not have been better for us - close to all the classic climbs of the Tour de France, plus Bourg d'Oisans is in a valley so you don't need to ascend to get home. The house was spacious and clean, everything worked well and we had great written instructions for all the appliances. The kitchen was very well equipped, beds comfortable and the terrace was a nice spot for a quiet drink at the end of the day. The ground floor garage was incredibly convenient and provided plenty of space for our bikes and bags. Excellent communication with the owners, who were friendly and welcoming.

Fabulous holiday accommodation

What a great holiday! I would definitely recommend a stay here. From the start the owners were really friendly and helpful, answering all of our queries. The house has been beautifully furnished, my favourite room being the kitchen with its views of Alpe d'huez, which I enjoyed whilst eating the pastries from the local bakeries each morning! All of the rooms on each floor were comfortable,spacious and tastefully furnished. The location is ideal to wander around the local shops, and cafes, a great base if you enjoy cycling, walking or skiing, the surrounding area has so much to explore. The free car parking for the property is about 50 meters away and we never had any problems getting a space. It is situated off of the main roads and is in a quiet area. We will definitely come back next year, Thank you.
