About this property

Fabulous 10 bed chalet with large garden next to the nursery slope

The chalet is located in absolute prime position- next to the nursery slope (ski in/out), with uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains, and overlooking the village just below. It also has a considerable terrace and garden. With many children in our own extended French family, we believe our chalet is the perfect destination for a family (families), partly due to location The chalet also has very distinctive activity areas where kids/ teenagers can do their own stuff (attic as well as game room in the basement), and then for the whole family to come together around the large dining table after a relaxing sauna perhaps followed by a film from our decent DVD collection with a nice fire going. We are equipped for toddlers (gates,cot,high chair) and our little street has almost no traffic, making it very safe for children to play outside in the large garden. In terms of decoration, this chalet is our home and we never pass up a chance to visit the countless brocantes around France to add to our selection of furniture. The kitchen is of course also kitted out for proper cooking- after all, we are in France.
With respect to our beloved Contamines, its definitely amongst the prettiest mountain resorts in France, with reliable snow conditions, friendly people, great offpiste terrain, and with a summer season to match for anyone in love with the outdoor. The village is not primarly renown for its big party scene but we have a good selection of decent bars and restaurants, some very good festivals , an icerink open at night, and night skiing at the nursery slope so you will never be bored.

Heel goed! Heel aangenaam huis. Sommige zaken zijn verouderd en mogen echt wel vernieuwd worden zoals vaatwasser en afloop douche boven. Voor de rest is huis erg aangepast aan tieners, ook de ligging is ideaal (dorp, wandelingen)

Emplacement très agréable

Superbe espace de jeu pour les enfants entre le jardin et la salle de jeux. Organisation de l'espace un peu biscornue. Manque de rangements dans les chambres. Mais on a beaucoup profité de la terrasse et du jardin avec la vue dégagée sur le village et le fond de la vallée Aucun vis à vis !

Chalet top. Bonne réactivité des propriétaires. Station top. Point restant à ameliorer: chalet très propre mais un peu de poussiere dans les chambres, plus particulièrement celle du bas. En résumé : on recommande!

Très agréable chalet près du centre des Contamines-Montjoie

Très agréable chalet, à la décoration personnalisée, avec une terrasse bien orientée. Nous avons passé cinq jours agréables à randonner. Au retour, la possibilité de se détendre au sauna est un plus. Le chalet se trouve à proximité du centre et des commerces. La communication avec les propriétaires est facile. Nous retournerons volontiers.

Un chalet agréable

Nous étions 8 dans ce chalet prévu pour 10 personnes au maximum. C'était bien ! L'espace disponible était suffisant. Le sauna ainsi que la cheminée étaient bien agréables, le mobilier parfois un peu...vétuste (fauteuil) mais pour une semaine rien de bien grave. L'équipement était suffisant. La WIFI fonctionne bien (la clé n'est pas celle qui figure sur la box) La situation du chalet est plutôt bonne mais comme il est situé dans une montée un peu raide il faut impérativement des équipements spéciaux dès qu'il y a de la neige. Peu de place pour se garer à proximité immédiate. Quand nous sommes arrivés le chalet était à peu près propre, la dame chargée du ménage n'a pas le temps de s'amuser entre deux locations. Elle nous a fait comprendre (dit explicitement) qu'il ne fallait pas la déranger en cas de problème, comme les propriétaires n'étaient pas là nous étions livrés à nous mêmes mais tout s'est bien passé. Quelques petits défauts cependant : porte des toilettes à l'étage qui ferme mal, une roue cassée au lave-vaisselle, poignée de porte d'entrée à refixer...mais nous n'avons pas rencontré de véritable problème. Au final donc nous n'avons pas de grosse critique à formuler. Tout s'est passé agréablement. Le fait que le linge de maison soit fourni et que le ménage ne soit pas à faire (même si nous n'avons pas laissé de désordre et avons nettoyé grossièrement) simplifie les choses. Il n'est pas impossible que nous y retournions l'an prochain.

Lovely chalet with stunning views and great location

We could not have found a nicer place for our skiing Easter break . The chalet is full of character , with all the comfort one needs and stunning views from every window / balcony . Amazing outdoor space (terrace) for children and adults alike to enjoy . Thank you Ysabel and Lennart for "sharing " it with us !

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, sehr nette Vermieter

Das Haus ist sehr angenehm. Wir haben die Sonnenterasse direkt am Übungshang (mit Tellerlift) genossen, und wenn keine Sonne da war die Wärme im Haus. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern vor und nach dem Aufenthalt ist sehr nett und serviceorientiert gewesen. Vorher gab es gute Tipps für Restaurants etc. und nachher wurde und freundlicherweise ein vergessenen Kuscheltier nachgesendet. Man merkt, dass die Vermieter das Haus und die Urlaube dort selbst mögen und ihre Erfahrung gerne teilen. Dankeschön!

We are a French - Scandinavian couple who met in London and due to the nature of our work, we have the opportunity and desire to spend a lot of time in the mountains (in the process getting to know the back rows of Easyjet quite well).

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with L'Ourson many years ago and spent 4 years negotiating with the very astute french owner who eventually moved to the coast.We are still in touch. The draw is a combination of the scenery and location, the village life, the style and vibe of the house, adding up to an alpine lifestyle with sporty days and lazy social evenings.This is a place to relax, unwind,clear the mind of everyday clutter, and recharge completely.

What makes this property unique

The chalet and the village offers a very good set up for families (summer and winter) with countless activities and a well designed space and location. We have plenty space for groups of 10 inclusive of parking (2 cars,3 at a push).
