About this property
Cozy Cabin Minutes from Glacier's Two Medicine Valley
This cozy cabin offers the best of both worlds - all the conveniences of town just minutes from Glacier National Park. Tucked in the hamlet of East Glacier, this cabin’s within walking distance to art galleries, gift shops, restaurants, trailheads, a ranger station, horseback riding, park tours, the historic Amtrak station, a general store, and a golf course which affords stunning views of Glacier’s peaks. The cabin’s main floor contains a bright, fully appointed kitchen, a bedroom (one full bed), bathroom, laundry facilities, and a living room complete with a comfortable couch which can sleep one person. The comfy loft overlooks the living area and holds a hand-made log bed (full-size). To accommodate those with allergies, no pets are allowed. The East Glacier area boasts breathtaking mountain scenery, meadows choked with wildflowers, and an amazing array of wildlife. Lucky visitors can spot grizzly bears, black bears, elk, moose, bald eagles, beaver, lynx, mountain lions, wolverines, fishers, pine martens, mountain goats, big horn sheep, and more. Area activities and attractions include hiking, fishing, climbing, birding, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, boat rides, the Museum of the Plains Indians, the Blackfeet Heritage Center, North American Indian Days Powwow (second weekend in July), naturalist guided hikes, evening programs in Glacier Park, and Visitor Centers. Roads from East Glacier travel north along the east front of the Rocky Mountains and lead to St. Mary, Going-to-the-Sun Road, Babb (home of the world’s best steak), Many Glacier, and Waterton Park in Canada. Visitors can also travel south and west over Maria’s Pass to West Glacier and back across Going-to-the-Sun Road. Check out our web site and our blog by typing in seeglacier with a com suffix . Why they chose this property
Colleen purchased the cabin when she moved to East Glacier after landing a job teaching English at Blackfeet Community College. It was a dream come true. Ever since a vacation to Glacier in 1989, Colleen had been trying to get to live near the park. Another dream came true when she met Mark at East Glacier's Fireman's Ball--the fundraiser for the volunteer fire department. The dream continues...now with two kids and more fun than any person could hope for.
