This renovated and home overlooks West Lake, and is only a few minutes away from the famous Sandbanks beaches. Two hours, twenty minutes from Toronto, 3 hours twenty minutes from Ottawa.
Occupancy for the home is 10 guests total. Please note that the regulations allow for " two (2) persons per licensed guest room, and kids up to a total of 10 overall. This is in compliance with the Prince Edward Country Short Term Accommodation Regulations. STA License ST 2020-0011
By car you are only 5 minutes away from Dunes Beach, and less than 10 minutes away to Outlet Beach. The house is perfectly situated to allow you to explore and experience everything the County has to offer, and there is something for everyone; beaches, ice cream shops, a waterpark, hiking and biking trails, boating, galleries, award winning wineries, restaurants, local produce markets and antiques, and music, art and theatre festivals throughout the season, and so much more! There is a public boat launch minutes away. You can be in the quaint village of Bloomfield in less than 10 minutes, and Picton in 15 minutes.
This roomy but cozy home is situated back well from a quiet road that circles the homes on Sheba’s Island, which is actually a peninsula connected to the mainland by a short causeway.
The views of the lake and marsh from the large deck are serene and breathtaking, and the soft breezes and relaxing environment allow for hours of bird watching, basking, or al fresco dining.
Steps take you down from the back of the house to the water’s edge, colorfully decorated with lily pads and majestic bull rushes. Here you can sit or play by the water, fish, sip a glass of wine, gather around a bonfire, and watch for and listen to the sounds of birds, ducks, loons and even swans.
The spacious front lawn boasts gorgeous perennial gardens, large trees and well placed garden benches and chairs provide nooks and niches for reading, having a cup of coffee or glass of wine and quiet conversations. Children and adults alike will enjoy playing in the large grassy area.
The home comfortably sleeps 8 persons, features four bedrooms + downstairs living room with sofa bed, three bathrooms, and offers two full levels of living space with numerous amenities. The bright, large main floor features a two piece powder room, hardwood floors, French Doors, and a gas fireplace to provide additional ambiance on cool evenings. You will enjoy the sunny, modern, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with skylights and a breakfast area. The adjacent dining room area has a large table and chairs that comfortably seats
Above the fireplace in the living room is a 46 inch smart television. The walk out to the deck from both the kitchen and the living room overlook the water, and there are stairs leading from the deck down to the back yard area. The spacious new wood deck has a gas BBQ and patio table, sun umbrella and 8 chairs, perfect for dining and lounging.
There are three bedrooms on the main floor and a full bathroom with bathtub and shower. The Master bedroom has a King size bed, the other two bedrooms upstairs each have a Queen size bed. Each bedroom in the house could also accommodate a portable baby crib or play yard.
The lower level offers a fourth bedroom with TV, bunk beds and a trundle bed, a bathroom with a shower, a laundry room with LG washer and dryer for your use, a den/living room with a wet bar. The downstairs den has a day bed that opens into a queen to sleep two more persons in a private area. There is a 36 inch TV and a walk out brings you onto the patio.
Safety - for the safety of guests as well as the property, there are two (2) external video cameras located in front (1) and in the back (1 as well). These cameras are clearly visible, white in color and about 7 inches high. The front one is above the left side of the front of the house (when facing it) and covers the driveway and grounds while the rear one is right above the rear patio door, and covers the rear grounds. There are NO cameras inside the house whatsoever.
Amenities: Internet, WIFI, two TVs, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, A/C, natural gas heating, Gas fireplace, natural gas BBQ & utensils. You will enjoy the modern fully equipped kitchen that includes a refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and gas top stove and oven. You will also find for your use tableware for 12 (dishes, glasses, wine glasses) bowls, pots and pans, frying pans, bowls, trays, a blender, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and every utensil you may need to prepare and enjoy delicious meals. Two kayaks for your enjoyment, a single and tandem.
An important note - parking on the front lawn is not allowable under any circumstances. There is expensive irrigation and septic infrastructure under the lawn, and it is only suitable for recreation such as sitting, playing etc. Any driving of vehicles on the lawn, as well as any parking on it will result in a minimum immediate $2,000 fine, pending additional assessment of damage.
The swing set must be used with an adult present and only by little kids, at low heights. The set is bolted to the ground as best we can, but the earth shifts with weather. Please use carefully!!
Please note that Bright Sky is non-smoking inside. You may smoke outside but are not to leave any cigarette remains on the property. Additional cleanup charges will be levied for any cigarette remains. Any smoking indoors will void the security deposit immediately.
Free, unlimited wifi. We use the top provider available, and while the internet is high speed, there may be a drop in speed during peak hours.
In low season you may be able to checkin early and out late for no extra charge . Please ask the host, we are happy to accommodate whenever possible.
We ask that you checkout before or precisely at the designated time of 11am, unless I have explicitly written to advise otherwise. Cleaning this home takes hours and any delay in entry by the cleaning team will incur a surcharge of 200 Dollars. Thanks,
Improper garbage handling by guests will result in charges of 200 dollars minimum. Garbage is to be sealed in bags, bins and the shed.

We have an amazing stay at the cottage. Beautiful location and the cottage is well appointed and very nicely furnished. And the kids love the ping pong table. This is our 3rd time staying here and it has always been great! Thanks for a perfect long weekend!
The property has everything we needed. The peacefulness is what was needed after a busy week at work. We loved the swans. There's a lot to see and do in the area.

Well located near Sandbanks! We appreciate the day passes for Ontario parks. Simon was very reactive to my questions/requests. It just miss some bath and beach towels.
Simon's place is excellent for a family (we were 6 adults and 4 kids and a dog), with a super layout with bedrooms separated from living areas, and a lower level for the kids.
Easy access to Sandbanks (10 min) made it perfect to spend time during the day and sunsets, and close to Wellington/Picton.
We will be back!
Wonderful property with lots of amenities. We were a 5 minute drive from Sandbanks. Had fun with the ping pong table and various board games. It was eclipse time and Simon generously allowed an early check in and late check out. So appreciated!
Bright Sky on Sherba Island provided perfect location for cycling various loops on PEC, including close acess to Millennium trail, various restaurants, and savoring a unset on Sandbanks beach.
Close to Sandbanks and spacious enough for an extended family... and the dog!
The house was clean and well-stocked, able to house multiple children downstairs with lots of comfortable rooms for the adults upstairs.
Simon was a communicative host and took care of any small issues that popped up.
Location-wise, only a short drive to the beautiful Sandbanks beaches and Bloomfield/Wellington/Picton.
Only downside is that you cannot swim on the property, but that was clear from the beginning. It is close enough to Sandbanks that you can return for an evening swim if desired!
Overall - a lovely vacation for the whole family.
Our stay was absolutely perfect! The house is beautiful and well equipped. The way the rooms are separated is excellent for everyone having enough space and privacy. The day bed in the basement can open into a queen bed. There is an extra bed under the bunk beds and enough space in that room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook excellent meals. The location is great and 8 minutes from the beach by car. We appreciated the 2 vehicle parking pass for the beach. The property is well maintained and the landscape is super beautiful. We had fun with the kayaks and did a fire every night at the fire pit. One night, a Neigbour accross the lakes did fireworks! It was magical.
We rent the place for one week of vacation with family and friends. The house is closed to Sandbanks beach, which is good. The view on West lake is awesome, we can also see Ontario lake away.
We had brought our fishing boat and we were able to easily park it in their parking, while enjoying the few public boat launchs in the area (the closest for West lake being 5-10 minutes away).
We did some paddle board directly from the house, but there is a lot of vegetation in this area, so it was a bit harder for the kids.
The rooms are located in area of the house where people who wants to sleep do not get bother by the ones who prefer to do something else.
The owner was very receptive and responsive when needed (we did not have much to request for, we had pretty much all we needed already provided).
We enjoyed our stay at Bright Sky!
6 guys who get together once per year for a weekend of biking. Great accommodation although a little tough for six men to sleep as we had to use bunk beds and the day bed. Otherwise great accommodation and location. To bike in the area.

Our experience at Simon's place was amazing. We had 3 families with kids ranging from 1.5.years to 14. Everybody had an amazing time. The property has plenty of space for everyone. Indoors and out. The location is amazing and very easy to get to wineries, stores, breweries and the Sandbanks. Simon was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend and we hope we get a chance to visit again soon.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour et la propriété est grande et accueillante. La communication avec Simon avant l’arrivée a été très facile. Seul bémol il manque quelques stores dans les fenêtres dont celle de la chambre principale.
Très beau Bien diviser et bien insonoriser . Des portes françaises qui séparent les chambre de la cuisine et salon, grandes pièces , parfait .proche de la plage , (5 min en auto ), grande terrasse, la seule chose négative c’est qu’il a seulement un frigidaire et un congélateur. Pour les breuvages et poissons 🐟 manque de place.
A group of five friends and I stayed here for the weekend for a PEC vacation. The location of the home is perfect - you can see the sand dunes from across the road! It was spacious, and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make a gourmet meal. The beds were super comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch with our coffee every morning. We did have a mouse problem in the kitchen, but our host Simon was very responsive and let us know that the exterminator had been to the house right before we arrived. So likely this wouldn't be a problem in the future!
Visited the place for couple of nights with my friends and was very happy with the overall stay. The place was conveniently located and super clean. Had all the amenities available for a comfortable stay. Will definitely plan for another visit soon.

It was a great place for a much-needed beach break for our extended family. Perfectly located and with every thing someone could need in their home away from home. We would definitely go back again.
This property is stunning. It's on the backside of Sheba, facing the marsh, making it quite and full of the sounds of birds, fish, and bullfrogs. It was larger than expected from the pictures. And I've never stayed at a property that was so well equipped. We usually bring our own cutting boards, knifes, mixing bowls, measuring cups and spoons, sometimes even larger pots and pans, BUT we didn't need any of those things. What we brought just sat in the closet. We will definitely be back.
