OK but a bit tacky

Convenient location albeit the area a bit run-down with dodgy looking youths haunting the streets on occasion. There was no information sheet about how things work and we had to discover for ourselves. For example, the water had to be run for 5 minutes before running hot. The kitchen lacked useful equipment such as a carving knife and small/medium size saucepans and was poorly laid out. The wifi router did not connect to the internet, giving an error message instead. Luckily there is an accessible BT Hot-Spot.

Issues

We have stayed in this flat several times. There are many good points about it. It is spacious, quiet, and conveniently located. But there are several irritations. The kitchen cupboards are full to overflowing with cups, plates, old foodstuffs, paint roller trays etc. The plumbing needs serious attention. It is always impossible to get a reliable flow of hot water in the shower. On this trip, there was no hot water of heating at all, from when we arrived. A glance at the boiler showed a flashing red warning light which basically indicated that the system had turned itself off as a safety measure. The boiler clearly needs servicing. Tis is something that the owner or agent should have spotted in a routine check round after a previous tenancy. We did not report this to the owner while in residence, since we did not want to be disrupted by plumbers and service engineers. But we did report it, in a text message, on our way back home last Monday, June 3. So far no response, not even an acknowledgement. So it may be that the next occupiers will be faced with the same lack of hot water. The owner/agent really needs to get a grip on customer service. RL
