Escape to the perfect lakefront getaway! Our cozy cabin offers great lake access and is just a short drive from all the fun-filled activities you could ask for. With nearby rafting, biking, ziplining, Cherokee, Bryson City, and Robbinsville, there's never a dull moment.
Enjoy your own private section of the dock. During the summer months, you can easily launch your boat right next to our dock and tie off right away. No more wasting your precious vacation time searching for a boat slip!
Take a dip in the refreshing lake waters or cast a line and try your luck fishing from our dock. For the thrill-seekers, bring your boat, water skis, and/or jet ski and play on the lake, or take a leisurely cruise through the stunning mountain-scaped lake. Don't forget to pack some sandwiches for a relaxing picnic on the lake or at the historic Fontana Dam.
If you're looking for more adventure, you won't have to go far. Go white-water rafting or kayaking down the Nantahala River, take a ride on the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad, go horseback riding, hike the Appalachian Trail, or challenge yourself on the famous Tsali Bike Trails. You can also tour the historical Cherokee or try your luck at the Cherokee Casino, all just minutes from our cabin. We like to think of our area of Western North Carolina as God's Theme Park, a place for recreation and relaxation that is sure to recharge your soul!
Our private dock walkway is shared with our other home, but each of our homes has its own reserved section. Our dock is conveniently located just outside the marina's no-wake zone, making it a quick and easy trip for supplies and gas. From May to early September, you can launch your boat and/or jet ski right next to our dock. The marina launch area is also just a short distance away. Please note that the dock may not be available in the winter as the TVA lowers the lake level. The marina adjusts our dock as the lake level lowers and rises to and from the winter levels.
We provide a golf cart for transporting people, coolers, and gear to the dock, as well as two ride-on top kayaks to get on the water for your convenience. Please note that availability depends on the prior guest caring for them during use, but we make a reasonable effort to ensure they are available for all guests.
Need more space for your party? Check out our home next door (291348) and see if it's available. It's always more fun when everyone is close by!

Best host ever! Best stay ever! Great dock, enjoyed the boating - Fontana has some of the clearest water! I would recommend if you want a quite getaway…..
We enjoyed everything this property had to offer.. The house overlooking the lake was hard to leave. George is always easily available and very helpful..
The property was about what I had hoped for. It had access to the lake and close to Nantahala Outdoor Center where we went rafting and zip lining. There's a boat rental close by. The people there were very friendly and helpful. Having a dock close to the boat rental place is very convenient. We were able to do quite a few adventures and had a great time!
Small but great house. We rented both houses has we had more than one would hold. George was great to work with. He responds quickly to any and all questions. We will definitely do this again.

Lake cabin
The inside of the home is fine , it was pretty clean except the dishwasher was full and there were some half eaten dog treats on the floor . The exterior needs major repairs, there are 3 decks and all of the wood is pretty bad. We booked and paid for 4 nights but had to leave the morning after the firstnight
First the good. Nice cozy house on the lake. Nothing fancy but clean and functional. Really nice dock/pier on a beautiful spot on the lake. There really is no bad but some things to be aware of. Internet was spotty our entire trip if that’s important to you. There had been some storms before we got there and WiFi/internet was completely out on arrival. It seemed to get better during our stay so maybe it was storm related. The drive to the house is quite narrow necessitating backing out or performing a 160 point turn between a vertical hillside and 100ft drop. Backing wasn’t that difficult. The path to the dock is quit steep but doable and they have a golf cart you can use to completely circumvent the path. Didn’t use the cart but did drive down to unload paddle boards, easy

Some issues, still enjoyed ourselves
I always write honest reviews and try to be fair. As a business owner I myself want honest reviews. I will start with positives.Cabin felt secluded and private even with other places close by. Inside was fairly clean and tidy. Kitchen had most items we needed. Lots of things were provided I didn't expect. We appreciated the amenities such as golf cart, kayaksDock was nice and water was clear and beautiful. Host was quick to respond to questions and issues.Negatives. Deck was in fairly bad shape and there were a few loose boards on steps. House is very tiny, beds take up the entire room and its not comfortable to maneuver. Deck and deck furniture was dirty as was the grill. Deck had too much furniture and felt crowded, some furniture was very dirty and stained and even looked mildewed and just needed to be trashed. Bottom deck where hotub was was only half lit with string lights and couldnt see well. I looked and flipped every switch and couldnt find lighting. While dock and lake were nice its situated right near heavy boat traffic and its not no wake zone so we didnt feel safe venturing far from the dock. We had a good trip and enjoyed ourselves but there is room for improvement.

Disappointed
Unfortunately, there's a lot to be disappointed with, as far the cleanliness of the place and communication with the host.
Many of the appliances did not work well. The oven only turned off when you put it on clean mode. The shower was clogged, so you were constantly standing in a pool of water. The control panel for the hot tub had fallen off, thus exposing loose wires to the water.
Most everything was dirty. The couches were musty, old, and very dusty. Much of the outdoor furniture had mold all over it, and if it didn't, it was covered in layers of dirt. I spent twenty minutes cleaning the outdoor table, just so we could feel comfortable sitting there. The carpets in the bedrooms were very stained. The bunk beds were precariously rickety, to the point that we weren't comfortable using the top bunk. The comforters were cheap and dirty feeling.
I will say that the kitchen and bathroom had been cleaned, but that appeared to be it.
We almost left a day early, but the beauty of the lake makes up for a lot.
When we left, we emailed the host about it all. It's now been over 24 hours, and we have not received any sort of response. Though we will happily visit the lake again, we won't be staying here. I will say that when we booked i did not click on the button for pets and when i messaged him he waived the fee for us which was kind.
We enjoyed our time at the lake house so much! The home had everything we needed for our 4th of July vacation. Fontana Lake is gorgeous! We brought our boat and the dock was perfect. The host provided a golf cart, kayaks, a fire pit, grill, and all the amenities we needed! We were very comfortable there. Thank you! We can't wait to come back!
Had a wonderful time, this is my second time renting and will definitely rent again! Brought my two Corgis with me and they had just as much fun, the ramp off the dock is perfect for ease of access for the dogs! Property is no frills but is perfect and what really makes the rental is the dock! There's nothing better than a few days at the lake to recharge. The addition of the firepit was great too! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Location superb
Location and property are great. Beautiful view, nice dock and amenities. House and dishes were dirty. Had to wash before use.
The dock really made the place great. No one was staying at the other camp at the time so had dock all to ourselves. The house was smaller than we thought but was fine for our family. Went hiking and fished at the lake, had fun. Caught catfish off the dock every day we were there. Kids enjoyed swimming at the lake during the day off dock and had fire at night at fire pit.
Such a magical spot! Plenty of space for our family.. All the beds where extremely comfortable. hot tub was soo hot and wonderful, my mom actually slept on the hammock outside because she wanted to! We spent time on the dock just swimming as well as kayaking and one day we rented a boat that we were able to tie up to the dock and have the family come and go. It does not get much better!
Wonderful outdoor spaces with great access to the lake. Inside rooms are small but plenty of room in the kitchen. We were outside most of the time and enjoyed are time at the lake.
We loved this property, it was perfect for our family of 4. The house draws you outside with beautiful decks and lots of seating. The dock is just awesome, and the kids had a blast swimming, kayaking, and fishing. We will be back!
My husband, mother-in-law, and 17 yr old son enjoyed ourselves for 4 days and 3 nights at this cozy, quiet mountain lake getaway. Being surrounded by the forest helps to keep the house and porch nice and cool in the summer and the AC was working almost too well inside. The house is very close to the water but just far enough that we were grateful for the golf cart the hosts provided there, so we could drive our mom down to the dock and up again. We cook a lot from scratch so we were grateful the kitchen was fully stocked and the gas grill was functional.
Our teenager appreciated having wifi and the tv includes netflix, disney, and youtube - you just have to login to your own account to access the latter two. The place was just as described, except that the private dock is actually shared with the neighboring property but we had no issue with that. We never even saw the other family that was staying nextdoor, but if we had that would have been ok as there are designated spaces on the dock for each property. The bedrooms are very small with just enough room to walk to one side of the beds but we didn't spend much time there, as we enjoyed most of our time between the cool, clean, emerald water of Fontana Lake, the private dock, and the shady deck, which was so accommodating for lounging and visiting with the family. The hot tub was VERY hot and the jets worked decently well. Every night we we serenaded by the lovely orchestra of toads, frogs, and whippoorwills. It was quite enchanting. And it was such a wonderful place for our mom's dogs to stay with us. We are so grateful for such a lovely location available to dog lovers. We just wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely book again when possible.

Why they chose this property
We grew up in the mountains of WNC and fell in love with the beauty and tranquility of Fontana Lake and all of the activities close by. Lake front property is pretty rare on this lake with the Nantahala National Forest & Great Smoky Mountains National Park protecting most of the lake front and adjoining properties. We were extremely fortunate to find this little gem and believe we should provide an opportunity for others to enjoy and treasure it as we do.
