About this property

Sunset Cottage by the bay

Located just steps from the bay, where you can watch some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world, we are just a short drive from both Victorian Cape May and The Wildwoods.

There is plenty of fishing, water sports, award winning beaches, great dining, and family fun, all within minutes.

Our 450 sq. ft. cottage features two bedrooms, two full baths, outside shower, central air, eat in kitchen, and a separate large sun room with TV, dining table, and sofa bed. Perfect for the smaller family.
*Please note that all rentals are Saturday to Saturday.
You'll love morning walks along the dog friendly bay beach, or if you prefer, Wildwood's beaches are free and tags are provided for Cape May beach. There is plenty of room for barbecuing in the back yard or to just relax and enjoy the breezes.

Other area attractions include Victorian Cape May, whale and dolphin watching, shopping at the Washington St. Mall, several wineries, and the Cape May brewery. Not to mention some of the best taverns and restaurants at the Jersey shore. Add to that the world famous Wildwood Boardwalk, and you have a recipe for great family fun.

Jump on the ferry and spend the day visiting historic Lewes Delaware or nearby Rehoboth beach. Whatever you like best about the Jersey shore you are within striking distance of. All while being nestled in a quiet family neighborhood.

Another Great Week

As always the stay was great. The Cottage is a perfect size and Vicki is such a great host. This is our 3rd year staying at the Cottage and there will be more to come. The Villas is a quiet area but close to the beach, close the Wildwood Crest and all the restaurants.

Every time we’ve stayed here we enjoy both activities at the nearby beach and downtime in the house and lounging room in the backyard. When it’s time to explore: downtown Cape May, Wildwood, and the ferry are all easy drives.The owners are always professional, polite, and responsive to our questions, and it’s clear they take good care of the property.

Clean and cozy by the bay

Very small, but clean property close to the bay. We loved the extra sunroom and the proximity to the beach was great.

It was a very clean adorable rental. We loved the main bedroom with the queen bed it was very cozy. The back sun/game room was an extra bonus but we really didn't need the space. We appreciated the lovely deck and all the storage space. The air conditioning and everything worked great. Loved the short walk to the beach.

We had a great time staying here and the place was so clean and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed and is such a short walk to the bay and everyone we met in the neighborhood was so friendly! Short drive to Cape May and Wildwood. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful week at the sunset cottage. We have been staying here nearly 10 years. The house is always in perfect condition with all the amenities we need. We love that we can bring our elderly dog with us. The beds are comfortable and we love the outside shower and starting our mornings off with coffee on the front deck. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Cute place in a great location

A clean, well-maintained house just a few minutes’ walk from a calm, quiet beach! Also no more than a 15 minute drive to most Cape May area attractions, and the property has plenty to do for the times you want to stay in a bit. Highly recommended!

Vacay at Cape May

Rhe cottage was small but quaint. The AC was wonderful. A very short walk to the bay which was nice for sunsets, 15 min drive to Cape May beach. The little diner at the end of the road is priced well and the food is dynamite!

Nice location

It was close to the Bay, only a block away. It was very nicely decorated and had a large front porch. We were there during the heat wave, 4 days of 90 degrees. The cottage in the back had a difficult time cooling down at night. Also, a table umbrella on the front porch would have allowed us more time to sit there.

Another Great Stay

The cottage is so close to the beach. It’s nice to be able to walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. The cottage is clean and cozy. This is our second year that we stayed at the cottage and it’s because Vicki is so easy to deal with. Thank you again Vicki for a great week at your cottage!

Wonderful cottage by the bay

Our stay was wonderful. The house was close enough to walk down to the bay for the best sunsets. Very close to everything. Our check in went as planned and we were very happy with the house and the sunroom was just perfect if we needed it. I would definitely rent this house again. Maryanne G.

3rd stay and we’re ready to return, again!

We just returned from our third weeklong stay at this adorable home in Villas. It’s so meticulously maintained, it almost feels like no one else stays here in between our visits. It was my dad’s first time staying here with us, and he appreciated how quiet the neighborhood is, how comfortable the bed and furnishings are, and how easy the house is to keep clean. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We’ve lost count how many times we’ve stayed at this property! It’s always so nice and clean with a quiet location 10-15 minutes from everything Cape May and close to the bay where we catch beautiful sunsets. The sun room is a big plus for having family game nights. The owners are always responsive and easy to reach on the rare occasion we’ve needed to.

Sunset cottage

We enjoyed our time at Sunset cottage. The home is comfortable and spotless. The beach is beautiful and the sunset are fabulous. Unfortunately, hurricane Debbie effected the weather so we didn’t get as much beach time as we’d like.😞 Thankfully we were able to occupy ourselves shopping and eating out in the nearby communities.😊

Great family vacation!

My family of 3 had an amazing time. The house was cozy and perfect. The neighborhood was very very quiet! Perfect place to kick back and relax. We spent our mornings and evening in Cape May and it was very nice coming back to our quiet cottage. The owners were super helpful with any questions we had, very responsive. The house was well kept and clean. We are already planning to stay here next year!

Our Second Stay

We enjoyed our second stay at Sunset Cottage. The place is very comfortable and the perfect size for the three of us. The screen house was my hangout at night... so quiet and peaceful. The front deck is a great addition, and another place to relax and have coffee or read. And the location is also perfect... so close to everything, and only a mile from Fleck's Ice Cream. ☺️

We want to stay longer!

We absolutely love the sunset cottage by the bay! This was our 5th stay here since 2016, and we love it more each time. I always seem to overpack and forget all of the amenities the owners have thought of. It truly is a home away from home. We love that our small elderly dog can come with us to make memories as a full family. He enjoys going to visit the bay. There are so many great restaurants and things to do in the area, we can never seem to fit in everything we want to do into a week. We would love to stay even longer. Thank you Vicki and Bill for opening up your home to us!
