Carrington: Cliff Front with Pool & Beach Access-Car Rental incl.in Summer

Carrington is a privately-owned bungalow in the lushly-landscaped Castle Close. It features a living and dining area with a peaked ceiling, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a patio edged with tropical flora. A separate bedroom wing, located across a covered breeze way, includes two identical bedroom suites, each with a dressing area and bathroom. Air-conditioning units are provided in each bedroom but are seldom required, as cooling breezes waft through the villa day and night.
Carrington has its own large pool. A delightful gazebo is positioned to one side of the pool deck where guests may sit in the shade and enjoy the view overlooking the beach and ocean. There is also a staircase that leads directly down to the secluded, palm-shaded beach that lies below the Castle Close area.
Daily maid service is provided at Carrington. For guests who wish to take meals at their bungalow, arrangements can be made for a cook to provide a taste of the local cuisine.

Tranquility

Quiet gated community away from crowded resorts. Great deserted beaches steps away. Very well maintained with excellent staff.

Relaxing retreat

We really enjoyed our two-week stay at Carrington. The gardens are beautiful and the pool is a great size and well maintained. Constant breeze meant we never used the aircon in the master bedroom. Very little around so no good if you want to walk to eat and drink out. There are buses fairly near but you would need to investigate timetables. It's a good base to explore the lovely, less touristy east coast with a car. Carrington is a quirky, older property on land next to the former Sam Lord's Castle hotel and beach. Bathrooms appear to have been modernised fairly recently but the kitchen (plus appliances and utensils etc) is long past it's best. Property managers and staff are great and very helpful. We did get some noise (two days only) from the nearby Wyndham resort construction. But for us it didn't spoil a really relaxing stay in a beautiful spot.

Pretty good

The landscaping, the pool, the location, the beach and the housekeeper were all wonderful. The house was not as nice. Is especially annoyed to find that there were no staples in the house, e.g.,oil, condiments, butter, salt, pepper, bread, so that we had to buy them ourselves when we would never use them up and couldn't bring them back. Moreover, the various groundskeepers, vendors, service personnel made quite a racket in the morning outside our window with their comings and goings and chatter. Finally, it would be nice if you welcomed your high-paying guests with a bottle of wine or rum; a small expense but one that would be greatly appreciated. RAG

Thank you so much for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay at Carrington and would like to respond to some of the points you raised: We do contact guests prior to their arrival and send our grocery and information sheet to them so that they can pre-order any supplies if they wish. It is not our policy to stock the villa with perishables that can spoil when left open. We are very sorry you were disturbed by "chatter" and "comings and goings with vendors and personnel". We are not aware of any vendors as this has never been an issue but we appreciate your comment and we will look into it immediately. The same goes for any disturbing "chatter". The pool is serviced twice a week and the gardens once a week and the maids arrive daily. The owners of Carrington agree that a welcoming bottle of rum is an excellent idea and one that will be put into effect immediately.
