lovely villa

Overall this place is nice, just 2 faults the air con you have to pay for but this is not stated on the web site and its more than 10 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket but still enjoyed. Jeff of Grimsby.

Very peaceful

The villa was excellent - everything we could possibly have needed. We made good use of the pool. The location was a bit more rural than we were expecting - we did walk into town but the restaurants and bars were not great. However it was a short drive towards the coast. My reasons for not giving this 5 stars were that the Gardner arrived very early to trim the hedges loudly! There was no hot water for the shower and the bedding was not changed in two weeks. I would normally expect a discount for staying two weeks if there is no housekeeping after one week.

Very pleasant stay

The house is great. Well equiped, well maintained and very well managed. When the coffee machine failed, a new one was brought to the house a.s.a.p. When the timer on the pool lights was somewhat off due to a short power break, the pool maintenance was there within the hour. The garden was maintained twice a week. All in all perfectly organized. Besides some dogs barking, the house is located in a quiet place. The nearby towns are not full of tourists so do not expect high quality restaurants. Its pretty basic but for some good tapas you are fine. This part of spain is pretty rural. Its farm country but this is for us also the good thing as not overcrowded with tourists. In short, we very much enjoyed our stay.

A little piece of heaven.

We had a wonderful month here, we were lucky to extend our booking while we were there, and still didn't want to leave. It has everything you need, and things you didn't know you wanted. It is so well equipped, from every cooking utensils you need to books to read. Waking up and drinking tea on the terrace, watching the sun wake up the tranquil setting, between the mountains and lime groves became our favourite time of day. Surprising how long breakfast time becomes when you feel so relaxed. The pool is massive and welcome in the heat, seating areas are all round the villa so you can follow the sun or the shade. We were lucky enough to meet the very friendly owners, who gave us lots of tips and directions, and who look after the place with obvious love, it is immaculately clean, and stylishly furnished. Plenty of peace and quiet, you can hear horses sometimes and a donkey when they wake up, and you can almost set your alarm by the local birds. We have booked again, and would move in if possible! There is only one problem with writing this review, and that is by letting people know how lovely it is, it might be booked up when we want it again 😊 Thank you Tracey and Dave for a wonderful holiday in thier beautiful home.

Our first vacation in Spain.

We liked our vacation in Dolores/ Catral area, Alicante, Spain. The villa was an excellent place to stay for our family of 5 from USA. The place was safe, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, admired views of the mountains and lemon tree garden in the front of the house. It’s noticeable the owners love their place and make everything to satisfy their guests. It’s located in the country; therefore, you definitely need a car. We didn’t pay extra for the air conditioning usage because the nights were still cool and we didn’t use all provided electrical cards. We walked on the world known waved boulevard, visited Santa Barbara castle in Alicante, and of course, went on the beach every day. We liked La Marina beach the most because it had a lot of parking. Our family bought groceries at Consum and Mercadona stores. A very important moment. Because the streets are not marked properly ( not enough signs), it would be hard to find the villa first time. Ask a manager to meet you at some known place and lead you to the villa. Thanked to Angela who met us at gas station and led to the destination, we saved our time instead of looking for it. We think, this problem exist in all Alicante area, not only with finding this villa address. You can book this place for your vacation without any doubt!

Una maravillosa casa con todos los detalles

Nos ha encantado la estancia en esta espaciosa casa con todas las utilidades que pudiéramos necesitar. Todo el mobiliario y utensilios son excelentes y la casa esta 100x100 habilitada para vida diaria. La limpieza de la casa es excelente. Las zonas del exterior están dotadas de silla, mesas, sombrillas y parasoles, por lo que siempre hay un lugar donde estar al aire libre sin excesivo calor. La zona de la barbacoa con la barra americana y nevera en el jardín es un gran acierto. Hemos disfrutado mucho! La zona de la piscina esta completamente dotada de tumbonas y sombrillas. La entrada al jardín es muy amplia y podíamos aparcar varios coches sin problema. El único detalle a destacar en contra ,es que la piscina no estaba tan limpia como quisiéramos. Avisamos a los caseros y solucionaron rápidamente llamando al chico limpiapiscinas. Adicional, sugeriría cambiar los colchones y las almohadas o somieres de las camas, ya que eran un poco incomodas salvo la habitación matrimonial que es excelente. En cuanto a la ubicación, la casa esta en pleno campo(hay muchas moscas y avispas) y hay que coger coche para todo, además de las playas que están a unos 16km.El supermercado Consum esta a unos 2km y tiene muchísima variedad y productos frescos. Un 10. En general, la estancia ha sido maravillosa y la casa es estupenda, aunque por la ubicación sugeriría ajustar un poco el precio. Muchas gracias y un saludo.

Beautiful tranquil villa

Would have gave 5 stars but the air con let it down. I don't mind paying for air con but in August you need proper cool air and shouldn't really be advertised as with air con. Everything else was top notch with everything you need.

10 wunderschöne Tage in Dolores

Das Feriendomizil war perfekt. Der Garten, mit seinen vielen Sitzplatzgelegenheiten und die Innenräume, bieten sehr viel Platz, um sich zu verweilen. Auch der nette Empfang und die Sauberkeit, haben wir sehr geschätzt. Das Ferienhaus können wir nur weiterempfehlen!

Perfect for a Relaxing Holiday, even with kids!

Booked a week at the end of August for me the wife and 2 kids (boys 5 and 2) we also stayed with family. The location was perfect for us just slightly out of Dolores but not to far to the local supermarket. We had a hire car for the week, this made things easier to go out and about. The villa is fantastic,safe and secure especially when small kids are involved, the pool is sectioned off and locked if needed. The space in the villa was great for us, a party of 7 in total and for the money we where really pleased. I would recommend this place to families and couples if you would like a quiet relaxing holiday away from commercialised Spain. Me and the family will visit again.

Fantastic location. Nice and quiet and secluded yet close to everything you need. The villa was comfortable with everything you need from a self catering holiday.
