About the host

Host profile image
My name is Beccy Marshall, I work from home as an artist and my husband Ben is a carpenter/furniture maker. We were both born and brought up in West Cornwall and have lived on this peninsula for all of our lives. We have excellent local knowledge of the area, benefiting our guests if they wish to know of the best restaurants , walks, beaches an places to visit . We ran the Sandpiper Gallery in Mousehole for nine years. After selling the Gallery we decided to buy this beautiful property at Chyenhal. Moving here in October 2017, Ben decided to completely renovate The Long Barn that sits in the grounds of our main property including four and a half acres of our own private meadows.

Why they chose this property

When we came to view the property at Chyenhal , we knew straight away that we wished to purchase it . It is such a peaceful tranquil place to live , just slightly in land but close to the A30 , making it very quick and easy to get to the coast and to all of the local facilities. Ben has surfed and sailed here all of his life and has a traditional sailing boat which is moored in Mousehole harbour. He is also a Harbour Commissioner so it is important for us to be able to get to the beaches and the Harbour fairly quickly, yet still have the the peacefulness of this away from it all location.
Chyenhal is a small rural hamlet with only three other nearby neighbours. It is a little piece of old Cornwall that has been left untouched by modern life , making it a perfect retreat for your holiday.
