Quaint Cabin in Gruene on the Guadalupe River

This 3/2 cabin lies on a large, open spaced property that gives the impression of being in the country while being only a short walk to historic Gruene. You can hear the water flowing over the rapids and see the Gruene water tower lit at night. Deer make it a habit to stroll across the large lawn and graze when the sun goes down. This home has river access and is literally just above the rapids near the Gruene bridge. Our cabin is minimally, but comfortably furnished. The appeal to staying on our property is easy access to nature with huge trees, wildlife and a simplistic lifestyle. The covered porch offers a comfortable space to gather for meals, games, or just a quiet moment. The deposit will hold the reservation. Payment in-full is due 28 days prior to arrival. Travelers who cancel at least 60 days before check-in will receive a refund or credit for another reservation to be used within one year.

We've stayed at this location a few summers and love the location. Good place to hang out and enjoy the scenery. Tons of deer just hanging out day and night. Always clean and everything works. We'll be back.

Our vacation

We came for the Fourth of July to float the river and this was the perfect location! Close to everything and just the perfect amount of seclusion from the city! We loved the beautiful deer visiting us and we will for sure be booking here again!

A Porch Filled with Love

The setting is incredible, near enough to hear the music coming from across the river and to walk over to the shops and restaurants but sitting on the porch looking out at the huge pecan trees and the deer grazing, hearing the rapids below-one feels pure peace and privacy.Three generations for a long weekend was heavenly. We all loved it. The Hosts are very available and helpful. They made us feel so comfortable and at home. Beds are comfy, furnshings simple and just what is needed.

Convenient pair of houses

Our whole group enjoyed the stay very much The view and the access to the river were a major plus and the houses were above our expectation as far as tidiness. Will definitely come back. Location is great!

The house itself was okay and easy access to shopping in Gruene but access to the river was not good. It’s was covered in green moss and a big huge log was a problem as well. We were disappointed because the whole reason we chose this place was the river access, not worth the cost.

Very Helpful Owner!

We had a great time staying here! Close to entertainment and small water rapids. The AC did freeze up on our last night but the owner came immediately and got it working again. Great back porch and view! The owner responded to messages very quickly and was helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Really need more dishes and coffee mugs, for the price should have sheets and towels. It was a great cozy house with a beautiful location, and view of the river. Many deer show up at dawn.Overall we had a great weekend

This property was clean and well maintained. Beds where very comfortable. The kitchen has all the items we needed. The back porch was a wonderful place to sit talk and enjoy the wildlife that roam through the yard at night. This property is located within walking distance to downtown Gruene. I will definitely be staying here again

Wonderful Location. Wonderful Home!

We had an amazing weekend at this location. It was a few couples of close friends and the accommodations of this rental were fabulous. No one felt smothered or on top of one another the entire weekend. The house was clean & in perfect location to both the river & downtown Gruene. Thank you!!

Annual Guadaloco Boys Toobin Trip

We've stayed here 2 years in a row. Love the deer roaming the property while having coffee in the morning on the covered back porch. River is a short walk down the backyard. We walked to dinner in Gruene and to Rockin R Bar. Its very quite here with no neighbors right on top of you. Good times, we'll be back next year!

Wonderful Place

This cabin is the perfect location! We hung out on the property and swam in the river located in the backyard. We were able to walk to the toob rentals for floating and Gruene is within walking distance as well. This property is a must if you want to get away from city traffic and just enjoy nature and the river. But it’s close enough to your basic stores (Walmart, target, HEB) if you need to make a run for an item. Jamie and Lee were especially helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. The house is in great shape and accommodated our group of 6 comfortably.

GuadaLoco Boys #9

This was our 4th year staying here and we had a great time as always. Everything was clean, air conditioning works great! Beds are comfortable. We never got bit by mosquitoes day or night and never used bug spray. We lit a fire with the logs they already had chopped up. We used the barrel charcoal grill to cook steaks for dinner. It's as close to Gruene as you can get, walking distance. 👍👍 We'll definitely be back next year.

Cabin retreat

This cozy cabin was exactly how it is listed. It's clean, and the property manager was easy and quick to communicate with (which I always greatly appreciate). Note, you do have to bring all of your own linens, so for us, that wasn't very convenient, but that is communicated before you arrive. One of the showers is extremely small, but was fine for the weekend we were there. The back porch was nice and we saw deer, squirrels and hawks up close. The cabin sits off of the Guadelupe River and you can walk down to the river's edge with access to a fire pit & picnic tables. We had a great time at the cozy cabin and were overall very pleased.

Great location…. Had everything we needed!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great!! VERY near the heart of Gruene. Seven of us stayed and had plenty of room. Not a large house but very functional. Had everything we needed. Nice large bedrooms. The living areas are bigger than they look in the pictures. The lawn in back of the house is very large and has lots of huge trees. Beautiful. Lots of deer too! There are two picnic tables and a fire pit right near the river. The river directly in front of the house was kind of still but within 50 yards are some rapids and then a great swimming area. All walking distance. If you are looking for luxury, this may not be the place for you because the house is older and the furniture is basic but everything functioned well and was clean. Also note that you have to provide your own sheets and towels. If you are looking for a great location with a house with enough room, clean, well stocked, on the river with a large covered deck and a great outside area, this would be a great fit for you! We would definitely stay again!!

We offer a simplistic atmosphere with the outdoors and location being the attraction. We offer our guests a clean, comfortable cabin that provides all you need to enjoy a stay away from home. We are excited to be able to offer families the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Guadalupe River and to have easy access to the fun and entertainment that Gruene, TX has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Our location is prime! We are centrally located in Gruene/New Braunfels which is equal distance to Austin and San Antonio. We have river access just above the rapids at the Gruene Bridge and easy walking to Gruene for great dining and shopping. Our location is perfect for summer activities and yet offers a lovely setting for the fall and winter months.
