Very peaceful but a few problems

On Arrival found a dirty coffee cup and jug of water on the patio table, a mass of long black hair behind the seat in the bathroom. The BBQ was locked away in another cottage. It was 40 Degrees and we were looking forward to sitting on the patio having a BBQ and so not heating the house further. We were eventually told their insurance didn't cover BBq due to the heat. We had bought charcoal for it but if we had been told about before we arrived we would not have bought the charcoal. Everyone else around the area were having BBQ's ???? So we never used the patio which was a shame.

Hello Lorne, Thank you for your review and drawing my attention to the cup and jug on outdoor table. However, in regards to the BBQ not being available to use....Since no one was on site during your stay and considering the extreme hot weather and the high risk fire danger at this current time it was our decision to not have the BBQ available as we thought this was the most sensible decision to take and not risk our property. I understand you purchased material for the BBQ which we also offered to reimburse you for but we had not heard from you in regards to this. Kind Regards Kerrie & Alain

Gîte confortable. Excellent pour vivre au contact de la nature et faire de la randonnée.

Gîte bien situé en pleine campagne, à moins de 10 minutes de la jolie petite ville historique de Domfront. Idéal pour la balade dans la nature ou sur une agréable voie verte au départ du gîte. Hébergement propre, correctement équipé. Bonne literie. Descriptif donné par l'hébergeur, qui n'est malheureusement pas présent sur place, un peu confus et incomplet : stationnement, ramassage poubelles, décodeur TV box Orange, équipement cuisine. Deux semaines de séjour n'ont pas suffit à explorer tous les environs.

Hello Bernard, Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed you time at Le Cerisier. However, your comments in regards to the information given being confusing I am not sure I understand why you had found it confusing. The parking as indicated on our website states that parking is available in front of the cottages on the sealed surfaces which is normally not a problem at all with our guests. The TV decoder/Orange Box for French and English TV has instructions on how to use available as is the WIFI codes on the TV cabinet. The Garbage collection was in the process of changing by the local commune whilst you were there I was informed so I understand that would be confusing but our Caretaker took care of that for you. As far as our kitchen equipment ....Yes, the kitchen equipment is used very regularly by our guests and is checked and replaced at reasonable intervals when needed. Kind Regards Kerrie & Alain

Champêtre escapade à Champsecret

Un très joli cottage décoré avec goût et offrant toutes les commodités, pour un séjour reposant en pleine nature. Kerrie et Alain ont su tirer parti de l'habitation pour la rendre chaleureuse et confortable, le poêle à bois participant grandement au romantisme du lieu. Les photos correspondent parfaitement au logement. Tout est clairement expliqué. Nous étions avec notre fille ado de 14 ans qui nous a suivis lors de nos formidables promenades aux alentours, à pied, sous un soleil d'automne caressant. Une cavalière croisée au détour d'un chemin, trois biches, des vaches... Domfront est tout près, c'est vraiment pratique pour faire ses petites emplettes et plus, au regard du centre commercial situé en sortie de ville. Résumons : PARFAIT ! Nous avons hâte de revenir car 5 jours, c'est trop court pour découvrir les richesse de l'Orne. Et nous étions si bien dans cette petite maison sortie d'un conte...

This is a lovely cottage, warm, clean and stylish. The renovation has been done with taste, the fabric of the building is exposed, the furnishings are very attractive, the kitchen is well equipped, the shower is a dream and the bed is super comfy. What's not to like😀

Excellent Rural Retreat

This excellently renovated cottage in rural Lower Normandy was an excellent venue for our summer holiday. The property owners were helpful, and the cottage was in excellent condition. We recommend that anyone staying here visits Domfront, Bagnoles, and Flers as these were our three favourite towns to visit in the local area. The walking trails around Champsecret were lovely. We combined trails five and six on the walking guides provided at the cottage and found it a very enjoyable walk. It was also within driving distance of Mont Saint Michel, which we visited as a day trip. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend incorporating it into your stay. Tres Bien. 5*!!!

Really beautifully renovated Gite!

Quiet and comfortable - very well presented. We actually thought we’ d be closer to facilities ie in Champsecret itself - maybe I read it wrong on the details when I booked it. Perhaps a rug on the floor in the lounge as we forgot slippers and it was quite cold on the tiles? And a footstool for the sofa as an added bit of comfort? 😊 Beautiful spot, gorgeous Gite. Will definitely recommend.
