We visited Whitby for the weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday, the whole family came from the eldest aged 85 to the youngest aged 7 there was enough room to fit the 12 of us in comfortably the 2 lounges were very useful the house itself is fantastic, the location is excellent and all the facilities in the house are great. I would definitely recommend for a large group as there was even enough room for us all to sit round the dining table together comfortably. We managed to park all 3 cars along the street for free for the weekend so we didn't need to use the parking permit. I would echo one reviewers comments that a downstairs toilet would be an improvement but you can't have everything and it didn't spoil the stay at all we just used the ones in the 2nd floor bedrooms.

Stayed for 1 week, a family party of 10, ages ranging from 19 months to 70+. Excellent location with all amenities in walking distance. The accommodation was first class and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped from the washer drier and the 5 burner cooker to the full range of pots, pans and cutlery to cope with the catering needs of a large party. The bedrooms were all well presented and very comfortable, The shower rooms were compact but nicely presented and the roll top baths were a novelty for the younger members of our party. The lounges and dining room were well set out and easily accommodated us all. Would we recommend this property? a resounding YES

We had a lovely time at Frankland house. The only negative that we found was that the only toilets were within bedrooms except for the very top floor. Would recommend for large groups.

Great house, lovely and clean with everything you need.
Great house, lovely and clean with everything you need. Comfortable furnishings. Bedrooms lovely and beds comfy. Lovely big kitchen dining area. A short walk and you are right in the heart of the town. Close to the railway station, although I didn't see or hear any trains! Supermarket within walking distance too. The owner was really nice and good at contacting us regarding what we needed to know. The property has a lot of stairs so bear this in mind for those who will be sleeping on the second and third floors. There's no toilet downstairs so either be prepared to share one of the first floor toilets or hike up the stairs.

Fantastic short break to celebrate a special birthday.
Fantastic short break to celebrate a special birthday. 10 people in our party and plenty of room and space. Spotlessly clean and everything you need. Beautiful rooms, comfy beds, lovely shower and great view of Whitby from the lounge window (especially at night when it's luminated). Would definitely return and highly recommend. Party of 10 from Leeds

We had a fantastic long weekend celebrating my 50th birthday at Frankland House in Whitby.
We had a fantastic long weekend celebrating my 50th birthday at Frankland House in Whitby. There were 12 of us in the house (6 couples) and we all thought the house was beautifully and very tastefully decorated, really comfortable and warm and in the perfect location to enjoy Whitby! The dining room table was so roomy and allowed us all to eat together in comfort, the kitchen was well-equipped, beds were extremely comfortable too. The owner was great to deal with - replied promptly to any queries and seemed very pleasant and eager to help in any way. Much appreciated! The only downsides -the lack of toilet on either the ground or first floor. Luckily we're all very good friends and 'shared' the toilet in the front 2nd floor bedroom to save having to walk up any more flights of stairs! Parking could potentially be problematic, but as we stayed in January we were all able to find parking spaces not too far away. At a busier time of year this may not have been the case. Overall, I would highly recommend Frankland House and would definitely consider a return visit!
